Lopesan Baobab Resort

Lopesan Baobab is an African jungle-inspired 5 star resort, located in Meloneras, on the island of Gran Canaria. It boasts five outdoor heated swimming pools, while one of the two poolside bars has a cave setting, surrounded by waterfalls. There’s a further pool for infants, with a monkey that squirts water, plus an additional one for bigger children, complete with waterslides. Entertainment for the young guests includes a kids’ club and mini disco. While for the adults there’s darts, tennis, aerobics, billiards and more.

If you book Half or Full Board, you can choose between two buffet restaurants for your included meals. Marula and Baobab each have African style architecture and foods from different countries around the world. Don’t miss the Africa theme nights - both restaurants have one each week. For something extra special there’s two a la cartes. At Akara there’s a selection of Moorish meat and fish dishes. Maybe you’ll go for the venison tagine and couscous, followed by a banana and nutmeg brownie. On the menu at Pili Pili you’ll find Tex-Mex burgers, pizza, roast chicken, red tuna and more.

The Samuel Baker bar provides the ideal place to grab a coffee, while over at Richard Burton there’s delicious snacks and cocktails on the menu. The evening’s entertainment includes visual, acrobatic and musical shows at Dodori. Or, if you prefer to keep abreast of how your favourite football team is performing, there’s a terrace with live sports broadcasts.

Double rooms are a large 43m2. They are fitted out with a pair of beds, sofa bed, mini bar, satellite TV, plus a balcony or terrace. Family options cater for up to five guests (a maximum of four adults).

For golf lovers, Lopesan Baobab offers complimentary shuttles to their two sister hotels, each with 18-hole courses. Shopaholics will be at home in Meloneras, thanks to the variety of luxury boutiques and designer stores, not to mention the Atlántico shopping centre. You’ll be just a 6km drive from the stunning Maspalomas Dunes, a protected nature reserve, where you can spot exotic birds or ride a camel. The area also provides ample opportunities to go hiking, biking or surfing. Gran Canaria’s small size means even the island’s capital, Las Palmas, is only 60km away, making it an ideal day trip for lovers of museums and Spanish architecture.
