Son Baulo in Majorca
Enjoy a quiet day out at the beach with a visit to Son Baulo. A little smaller than neighbouring Ca'n Picafort, the sandy cove is full of character with plenty of things to do no matter how old you and your family are.
To get to Son Baulo, catch the number 2 bus from Ca'n Picafort or take a walk along the coast. As you arrive at the beach, you'll step from the wooden path onto the soft white sand.
Hire a sun lounger or lay out a towel before relaxing in front of the clear blue waters. If you want a quiet spot, venture into the dunes that back onto the Torrent de Son Baulo river.
Son Baulo beach slopes gently out to sea. This means it's nice and safe for children, but be careful of the occasional waves. There are lifeguards on the beach, giving you extra peace of mind.
If you enjoy snorkelling, there's plenty of marine life to discover beneath the surface of the water. You can also hire pedalos, or go to the massage station to be pampered in the purpose-built wooden hut.
There are plenty of walking routes nearby, including marked trails from San Baulo along to Son Serra de Marina.
If you need something to eat or a nice refreshing drink, pay a visit to one of the three bars on the beach.
Then as night falls, go into the town where you'll find the evening craft market from 6pm until 11pm every night. The beach is also close to Majorca's Aloe Vera Farm, which runs tours and has a small shop selling their produce.
