“Some staff need a refresh like some of the rooms”

Me and my partner have just returned from a vacation here. We had a lovely time however it took us 3 days to start enjoying it at least. We arrived around 10pm at night and the guy who was on reception to welcomed us was good, apart from sending us to the wrong building he was kind, informative and welcoming. The room we were assigned was in a building where there was no lighting in the stairwell and an elevator that was very questionable. When we first got in the elevator it dropped.. And that was a 100% no go for me. We were on the 3rd floor so stairs were my only way of getting up and down and with it not having any lighting this was a safety concern. With it being so late we just wanted to get to bed. We got to the room with one bulb missing in the room and a balcony door which was very difficult to use and a TV that didn't work. In the morning we went to reception where we were met with ISA, who in all honesty was rude from the beginning but throughout the first few days just got worse. We requested a new room and she said they would send maintence. We went out for the day and returned approx 5pm to find nothing had been done. We went back to reception and was told we couldn't get a new room and was asked to come back before 11am to put in the request again. We went back around half 9 in the morning to put the request in and was told they would send maintence again. I informed her that he didn't do anything the day before and I doubt he's going to be able to fix the elevator in a quick check so I would just rather move buildings, I was then told to come back later. I did and was then met with the same response of you have to put in the request in at 11am the following day. We finally got a new room the following day from the original guy we checked in with but told we couldn't get into the new room until 3pm so we packed our stuff up and moved it to the luggage room until we could get in the new room. We went out for the afternoon and returned for lunch, unfortunately I started feeling a little unwell around 2pm and wanted to lay down, we went to reception to see if there was any chance our room was ready and got ISA again she just shot me down before I even finished my sentence saying we told you 3pm. Didn't even bother to check the computer. I explained how unwell I was feeling and asked her if she could check, a older lady with blonde hair came round they were speaking Spanish to each other, unfortunately I didn't understand what they were saying but body language eyerolls, and tutting is universal we could tell they weren't happy. Luckily our room was ready when they checked and they let us go in. From then on if we needed anything we would avoid reception if either of them were there as they made us uncomfortable. The waiting and bar staff were pretty good and freindly. One bar staff who didn't speak a word of English wasn't fantastic but the language barrier was probably difficult for him and guests to get over. The shock we had was that you had to pay a euro a cup for a drink (if you return the cup you get it back) but how pointless is this. When you've paid for all inclusive and then all of sudden have to pay out a deposit of a cup. The food was nice for an all inclusive, all the basics but with a few extra. Caeser salad was great! It probably would be nice for a little advice or advertisements for things to do or places to eat/drink locally. The entertainment in the hotel was simple the main guy really did put the effort in around the hotel which was nice to see.

“Horriffic 4 days”

Stayed here for four uncomfortable nights. Smelled musty in the rooms and corridoors. Beds were horrific could feel the springs. Mould patches on the ceiling. Extractor fan in bathroom non existent. Mirror hanging off the wall. Balcony door lock broken. Dirty unmaintained pool. Breakfast always cold. Didnt bother with other meals. Some of the lights around the complex wernt working. Cockaroache in trainers. Stairs into the pool was unsafe moving in the concrete when going down and out of pool.

“Club hotel cala ratjada (good, reasonable)”

You get what you pay for, let me put it that way. Food is ok and also drinks ok. Rooms are average but keeped clean. Staff are very nice, entertainment is dated. You have two good size pools, and a kids pool, plus inside mimi arcade. If you fancy a bus trip the Tuesday market in Arta is huge, and plentiful. In walking distance there is the caves which you can swim in, or if you fancy swimming in a bay it's a ten minute walk with a beach bar, well worth that too. We also took the bus to the Central Town of Palma which was a great day out.

“Like marmite; like it or hate it (but doubt you will love it).”

There are some issues: For us, as everyone else has said, air con in rooms is woeful; take travel fans if you can. This was bearable in Oct but I would imagine not so in the summer months. Ants in the room. Room safes are an additional cost. Staff don't speak great English. Some come across as a bit brusque (could be due to the lack of good English, whilst others are friendly and helpful. Woeful arrival in that, they must know when a glut of people will arrive together but only put a single member of staff on reception at that time to check everyone in (so very slow if you are at the back of the queue). Only one TV channel that ocassionally has an English speaking programme on it. No first aid at reception despite signage saying there is (amkes me wonder if there is good first aid at all). Some things aren't well explained, like having to put down a deposit on reusable pint glasses. No pool towels. Loud entertainment goes on until 23.00 and then you have a good half hour of lots of loud, drunk people staggering back to their rooms; you will suffer with late noise if you have a room facing in this direction. However, quiet once the drunk people have cleared and quiet mornings, getting louder around the pools in the afternoons. Whilst the food is quite samey and not high end in the one restaurant, it's generally OK and offering a fairly good choice so that you should find something you like. Plus, long opening hours and being of quite a large size, we never struggled to get a table and the large outside area to the restaurant is very nice. All inclusive drink offering is also fairly good. Our room was clean and adequate (bar the air con). Good pool areas for adults and children with some lifegaurded. Good games room (chargeable games) for children and adults. Can't say what it was like in the summer months but in Oct, no difficulty getting a sun lounger. Not to our liking, but barside singing entertainment of some kind every night. A book exchange. A sauna and (small) heated indoor pool. Not far to walk from any of either the main town area, the bus depot, the seafront, a big sandy swim friendly beach or forest / hill walking trails. Complex was fairly well maintained. 24/7 reception. Good/free wifi. So for the low price we paid to be here, we got quite a lot for our money and so I would rate this place as 'good' if that was a rating option.

“Rooms are terrible”

First time staying at this hotel . Was not impressed. Was no proper air con , I had to complain in reception area which also had a weird damp smell in there anyway when I went down the following day as I arrived late that day there was a big que of complaining customers about the rooms: air con . I was given a slightly better toon but once again air con was still bad. The room looked like prison cells . Overall the food was ok, nothing special sometimes same left over food from the day before . Pool area is nice and overall Cala rajada area is lovely . They need updating the rooms
