Es Cana is a superb destination for families and couples looking to enjoy a quiet slice of paradise. With a powder-soft sandy sweep of a beach, plenty of watersports, excellent shopping, and a bounty of bars and restaurants, everything you could need from your holiday to Ibiza is virtually on your doorstep.

However, just because Es Cana offers the quieter side of Ibizan life, that doesn't mean that everything shuts up shop once the sun goes down. A cross between a bar, an entertainment venue, and a club, Charlies offers excellent cocktails and a superb range of beers, wines and spirits, seven days a week.

Most nights, the bar gets things going with a tongue-in-cheek bingo night, usually followed up with a live act or two. If the cocktails haven't claimed your legs as their own, the evening is then handed over to a DJ, who cranks out some top-notch tunes until the early hours.

The restaurants are an essential part of the Es Cana nightlife and, if you want something a little out of the ordinary, try Marvent. You'll find this restaurant conveniently located, next door to Charlies, so once you've had a drink or two, it's a short walk to enjoy a good meal. Sleek, chic and atmospheric, Marvent serves a variety of cuisine, from Tex-Mex to Thai, with burgers and pizzas and a tempting range of desserts. Whether you're just popping in for a drink or you want a full-on meal, Marvent is popular with those getting ready for a night on the town.

No spinach required

If you're coming to Es Cana for the first time, the chances are you'll hear a lot about Popeye's Bar as part of the Es Cana nightlife. This is one of the few bars that throws kids into the equation; every day, at 4pm, it hosts a foam party exclusively for younger visitors. Come the evening, you'll find tribute bands performing, impersonating big-name acts, such as the Rolling Stones, Abba and, the King himself, Elvis. There's good food on tap and a great assortment of beers, wines and handmade cocktails. Offering a superb atmosphere, it's easy to spend an entire night in Popeye's bar, and pop in the next day, too, for one of their amazing breakfasts.

Dance in silence

For a special night out, the Jarcanda Lounge ticks all the right boxes and, if you're looking for upbeat Es Cana nightlife, this ought to be on the top of your list. By day, it offers massage therapies, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, and plenty of loungers from which to soak up the sun. However, by night, the Jarcanda Lounge offers poolside parties featuring up-and-coming DJs, playing crowd-pleasers and party music. If you're lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time, you might be able to get in on one of the ”silent discos'; if you can imagine a crowd of clubbers, all wearing earphones, you're starting to get the idea.

Es Cana nightlife might not be on the same, hedonistic scale as its club-centric counterpart, but there's plenty here for those want to enjoy a quiet holiday by day and kick their heels up by night.
