Pestana Carlton Madeira Ocean Resort Hotel is on the south coast of the Portuguese island of Madeira. It's in a popular area in inner city Funchal, and it's also on the seafront. You can play some laid back rounds of mini golf in the sunshine, or stretch out on the sun terrace. There's an outdoor pool area with two swimming pools, one of which is heated. There are also two indoor pools including one which is heated, as well as a whirlpool. You can work out in the hotel's gym or join in with an aqua aerobics class in the pool. If you want to play tennis you can borrow equipment from the hotel and take advantage of the tennis court. Afterwards you can relax in the spa with a session in the sauna or Turkish bath, and try some massage therapy. There are also beauty and wellness treatments available including facials, manicures and pedicures. The hotel has three bars and four restaurants, as well as a pool waiter service to bring you drinks straight to your lounger. In the evenings, you can enjoy family-friendly live entertainment seven times per week, as well as enjoy games of darts, table tennis and pool.
Pestana Carlton Madeira is 4km from the Blue Flag beach at Praia Formosa. There are two pebble beaches and a sandy beach to choose from, and all are popular with visitors for their sporting activities and entertainment as well as the chance to relax by the sea. The centre of Funchal is walking distance from the hotel and offers historic attractions such as the Old Town where you can wander the narrow streets, as well as the lido for an outdoor dip. You'll also see lots of flowers in the streets, and well tended public spaces where you can sit and take in the views.
The hotel has three bars and there are four restaurants, with a buffet restaurant open for breakfast and dinner. In the three a la carte restaurants you can get Portuguese and international cuisine for dinner, and you can get lunch in the pub or pool restaurant.
