Andromeda Villas and Spa Resort

Andromeda Villas and Spa Resort is in Imerovigli, a village on the north western coast of the Greek island of Santorini, one of the Cyclades archipelago. The village is known for its domed churches and traditional white and blue houses. It's a short drive, or a longer but rewarding clifftop walk, from the island's capital, Thira. The villas were renovated in 2017, and are on a hillside with views from the terraces out over the Aegean. There's an outdoor pool, two splash pools and a pool area with shady cabanas where you can relax with a drink from the pool bar. The hotel, which is built in a traditional Greek style over several levels, has a spa that offers beauty and wellness treatments including massages, manicures and facials. There is also a restaurant serving all meals throughout the day. The name Imerovigli comes from the Greek word 'vigla', which means 'lookout'. From the clifftops you can see out over the caldera, the submerged remains of the volcano that formed the crescent-shaped island. Imerovigli is sheltered by a rocky headland, topped with the remains of a 13th-century castle. If you want to explore, you can take the trail that leads up to this building. The village has bars and tavernas, many with views over the sea.

Andromeda Villas is 300m from Imerovigli and 4km from the bustling town of Thira. Here, you could visit the archaeological museum or the art and culture museum, which houses historical paintings of the town. You might also like to see the frescoes inside the Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral. The nearest beach is at Kamari, which is 12km away. Like many of Santorini's beaches, it has dark, volcanic sand. Kamari's waterfront is lined with tavernas and bars, and you can also take boat trips from here. If you have a car or fancy a hike, you can head off on the winding road behind Kamari, which leads to the ruins of Ancient Thera.
