Pelagos Suites Hotel & Spa

Sentido Pelagos Suites is a 5 star beachfront hotel, just 3 km from Kos Town. Families are given a warm welcome, with the animation team running a packed activity programme for the little guests. Adults travelling without kids will be pleased to know there’s a child-free pool area with a bar, while the lobby bar and spa are reserved just for the grown-ups. Small travellers also have their own pool, complete with slides.

The spa boasts an indoor pool and you have the opportunity to book a massage, manicure, pedicure or facial. There’s also a yoga and meditation room, as well as a fully equipped gym. Prefer to play competitive sports? You’ll have the opportunity to make use of the tennis and basketball courts, as well as a football field and ping pong table. Bike hire, watersports and horse riding can also be arranged through the hotel.

The main buffet restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. In the evenings there’s the additional option of an Italian a la carte. You can choose from expertly prepared dishes including four-cheese penne, mushroom risotto, carbonara pizza and grilled swordfish. Finish off with a tiramisu or panna cotta. Between 11am and 5pm visit White Corner for wraps, burgers, hotdogs, ice creams and more.

Each type of Suite is equipped with a king-size bed and a balcony or terrace with an outdoor seating area. Doubles include a sofa bed and space for a cot. Superiors and Deluxes have room for four, while Grand Suites can accommodate five. You may choose to upgrade to a swim-up option, or even your own private pool.

The Old Town of Kos contains a mind-blowing array of ancient ruins from the Greek, Roman and Byzantine eras. The Castle of Joanites is the biggest attraction, dating from the 14th century when the Knights of St John came to the island. Don’t miss The Tree of Hippocrates. According to legend, the tree was planted 2400 years ago by the physician of the same name, an outstanding figure in the history of medicine. To be at one with nature make the 11km drive to Alikes Salt Lake, a wildlife refuge home to pink feathery flamingos.

From the port (3.5km from the hotel), you may choose to take a ferry to another Greek island, or even the historic Turkish city of Bodrum, where you’ll find a bustling bazaar and plenty of medieval architecture. Just remember your passport!
