Grand Hotel Holiday Resort is a family-friendly 4 star hotel, overlooking the Bay of Malia on the Greek island of Crete. Boasting three outdoor pools (one for children) and a well equipped spa, it is the ideal choice for those seeking relaxation or fun in the sun. The sandy beach is less than 10 minutes walk away, while the more adventurous can visit the nearby diving centre.

Children are taken care of well at Grand Hotel Holiday Resort. Little ones, aged 4-12, can join the mini-club with an outdoor children’s play area and animation activities. Babies can make a splash in the mini fountain pool, while kids over 7 years old and 1.2m in height can have hours of fun in the aqua park. There’s also a special menu for the mini humans at meal times and even the spa offers age appropriate services for the younger guests.

The all-inclusive drinks and snacks service is available from 10:30 to 22:30 daily. In total there are five bar options, including two poolside. If you’re staying for seven nights you can enjoy one dinner from the a la carte Greek cuisine restaurant, another from the Italian (June to September only) and five buffet evening meals from the Dionysus restaurant, including two themed nights. Breakfast and lunch are also served here and there’s even an early bird service from 5am to 7am. Note that formal dress is required in all the eateries at night, so be sure to pack something appropriate. After eating, join the entertainment programme which includes live bands and folklore.

The Spa & Wellness Centre offers a variety of health and beauty treatments designed to meet individual wishes. These include massages and skin, body, hand and foot treatments. Alternatively enjoy the sensual pleasure of the Jacuzzi, sauna or steam room.

For the more active guests there’s a variety of sporting activities to keep you fit. These include tennis, beach volleyball, football, table tennis, billiards and giant chess. If you prefer an individual workout then you can make use of the fully equipped gym.

An air conditioned superior bungalow (for up to three guests) offers WiFi, satellite TV, a fridge and a hairdryer. The family option allows for an extra person, provides a separate sleeping area for the little ones, has a second TV with kids channels and is also equipped with a safe, while baby cots are available on request.

Nearby you’ll find Lychnostatis Open Air Museum which presents an interactive picture of traditional Cretan life. Children and lovers of Jurassic Park won’t want to miss Dinosauria Park, featuring life-size replicas, bones and fossils plus 3D exhibitions. If you prefer to see living creatures you will find 200+ species at the aquarium.
