Laura Beach House
General description:
The hotel Laura Beach House lies directly by the Alykes beach, a sandy beach. At the beach, there are sun loungers and sun umbrellas free of charge. The tourist centre is about 800 m away. The town Alykes is around 800 m away (Alykanas around 2 km, Tsilivi around 8 km). The nearest shopping facilities are located approx. 800 m from the hotel, a supermarket can be reached after around 150 m. It is 800 m from the hotel to the nearest bars and restaurants. Also the nearest disco is around 800 m away. The following attractions can be reached from the hotel: Blue Caves (approx. 15 km away), Shipwreck Navagio - View (approx. 20 km away) and Kampi ( Sunset ) (approx. 15 km away). “Fabulous holiday as usual”

This was our sixth visit to Laura Beach House and it’s my pretty little house by the sea. We love all the apartments and have stayed in all of them but Sunbeam is our favourite it’s so typically Greek but so comfortable. Has everything you could wish for to make your stay comfortable including a washing machine and full cooker/oven. Laura and Evan’s and Papa John are fabulous always making sure that everything is good. Although there are other apartments I always feel secluded and the terraces are big with very comfortable sun loungers. We have already booked for next year and wouldn’t go anywhere else now. A special mention for the storage space which is so much better than most apartments, and the beds are super comfy. The cleaners come every day and are so friendly. Would recommend as a little gemx

“A wonderful stay by the sea”

We had a truly wonderful stay! The accommodation is beautiful and we felt comfortable and welcome from the very first day. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful — she responded quickly whenever we needed anything and even helped us arrange a rental car so we could explore the island, which made our trip so much easier.   The location is fantastic. The sea around the property is absolutely stunning, with crystal-clear water — and honestly, the whole island is full of spectacular views. There is a lovely sandy beach nearby at Alykes, but we actually spent most of our time at the beach right in front of the accommodation. There are some pebbles at the entrance into the water (water shoes can be handy), but after about 2 meters it turns to sand, and the water is shallow, warm and incredibly clear — perfect for relaxing and great for children too. There's also a free pool next to the accommodation — very handy on our first day, when the sea was a bit rough and the kids preferred to avoid the waves. I loved that we could see the sunrise from our room.   It was a very successful holiday and we would happily come back. Highly recommended!

“Perfect place. Laura is nice but his son is terrible”

The perfect place turned into a nightmare. After staying at this accommodation twice and everything seemed to be wonderful this time we’ve experienced some moments like in the mafia movies My comment is long but please read it to the end before booking accommodation in this place. Unfortunately, on the owner's recommendation, we’re did not book on any official website and for this reason I am leaving a comment here. We have stayed at this accommodation twice before with no issues, which is why I returned this year. However, this visit was very different and disappointing. On the second night, after playing soft music quietly on the terrace, the owner’s son, Evans, suddenly appeared and aggressively demanded us to stop the “”loud music””, accusing us of disturbing the neighbors . He was shouting at us and he was hitting the table telling us to go to Laganas. Despite the fact that we turned the music off and staying silent,after some time he came back and continued to threaten us in a way that felt intimidating and frightening. He asked one of our friends to give him his passport in a way like he was the police or something. We wanted to call the police but we were unable because we paid in cash and had no official booking confirmation. However we stayed sillent because the man looked like he was under influence. The next morning, the owner’s behavior continued to be disturbing, yelling at the cleaning staff for hours, which made us feel very uncomfortable and unsafe. Unfortunately, no cleaning was done that day. It seemed the person has serious issues. The next day his parents did the cleaning services. Also he applied the next morning telling one of our of male friends to bring on the good vibes (because he was talking only to man,, practically women where not human). Apparently his mood was changing every unconsciously. I hope future guests are aware of these problems before booking. What started as a pleasant place turned into a stressful and scary experience for us.

“Noisy party boats anchoring directly in front of apartment and Terrible hosts”

Unfortunately very noisy party boats were anchoring directly in front of appartment. There was lots of diving and shouting, loud speakers and very loud music blasting out. We also had terrible experiences with the host Evans and his father. Upon arrival by our prebooked minibus, Evans the host told us we had been double booked for the first night and would have to stay at his other appointments a few kilometres away. Evans said the holiday company contacted him to say it had been double booked. This was not true as I called the holiday company who said no contact had been made with him and they were not aware of a double booking.Evans then got into a loud argument in front of us with our minibus driver. The minibus driver then took us to Evans other appointments a few kilometres away (Evans Suites) where Evans met us again.By this time we were very stressed and upset. Evans Suites is a much cheaper appointments, which was very small and required significant updates, in a nutshell it was horrible and not what we had paid for (upon checking booking sites to compare, roughly GBP 100 equivelent cheaper per night). Evans said as compensation he would waive all our taxes, not charge us for the air-conditioning (according to him worth 70 Euros for our week stay) and give us 60 Euro cash. He did not give us any compensation. We then had to endure Evans having a domestic family argument with lots of shouting and banging in front of his guests. The next day we finally got taken to Laura Beach House later that afternoon (one day late). The room was looking rather tired and in need of repair, example, the main shower did not work as it was corroded and seized up, had to use the smaller hand shower which didn't work very well. On day three, Evans father turned up at Laura Beach Hotel demanding we pay the taxes and asking us to pay for the air-conditioning. When I queried this (as Evens already said he would waive all taxes and pay for the air-conditioning), the father got very angry,started shouting and spat at me. I called Evans and also asked when he would pay me the 60 Euros he promised and he said he would bring it over to me that same day. He did not ever pay this to me. I remained cool and polite throughout this entire ordeal. We are in our 60s and have never ever been treated so badly by hosts and having been subject to the aggression and I have never been spat at. Avoid

“Our dream came true”

We cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience at Laura Beach House! The accommodation was absolutely perfect, providing a stunning backdrop for our wedding. The service was exceptional, and the venue itself exuded charm and beauty, making it an ideal choice for our special day. The view and the sea were breathtaking—so beautiful and pristine, it felt like it was just for us. Having the opportunity to celebrate with our family and friends—30 of our loved ones—was a dream come true. The owner went above and beyond to ensure that everything was seamless and tailored to our needs. He was always available, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our wedding an unforgettable experience. Thanks to the incredible support and dedication of the team at Laura Beach House, our wedding day was everything we had hoped for and more. We are truly grateful for the memories we created in such a beautiful setting, and we can't wait to return to Laura Beach House for future celebrations. Thank you for making our day so special!
