Boasting a waterfront location on the northern coast of Crete, Kiani Beach Resort is just a 23km drive from Chania Airport. With a 5 star rating, this family-friendly hotel was named in a list of the Top 10 All Inclusive Resorts in Greece 2022. One of the two outdoor pools includes a 50m swimming lane, making the outdoor terrace a place where you can relax, sunbathe, cool off or exercise your muscles.
For the little ones the Kids Club runs six days a week, with an animation programme, face painting, mini disco, bouncy castle, playgrounds, children’s pools and donkey rides. For the youngest guests there’s two indoor play areas, one for preschool ages and a second for 4-8 year olds. If you’re bringing your mini me you’ll be able to take advantage of the Baby Care service that includes loans of strollers and baby monitors, as well as cots, baby baths and high chairs.
While the kids are having fun, parents may choose to book a relaxing treatment in the Wellness Centre or relax in the hot tub. Alternatively, join a yoga, pilates, Zumba or morning stretching session. If you prefer to get your heartbeat racing there’s a fully equipped gym, as well as tennis and volleyball courts.
Two buffet restaurants are available, the main Symposium and the Pool View Restaurant. At both you can choose from the selection of Mediterranean specialties including meat, fish, pasta, local cheeses, salads and vegetables. There’s kid-friendly options and dishes for vegetarians. Afterwards, maybe you’ll be tempted by the cakes and pastries, or you could opt for a healthy piece of fresh fruit. There’s no limit on how much you can drink, whether you choose water, orange juice, raki or ouzo. For a special dinner, reserve a table at the Rooftop Restaurant, where there are four menus to make your selection from - Greek, Cretan, Seafood and Vegetarian.
Outside of mealtimes you can get rehydrated at the pool and beach bars (open 11am to 11pm) where, as well as chilled alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, there’s fresh filtered coffees and a selection of herbal teas.
Thanks to different room layouts and interconnecting options, Kiani Beach Resort easily caters for couples, as well as families and groups of 4-8 people. King sized beds are standard, while futons can act as a place to relax in the day and somewhere for the kids to sleep at night. A kitchenette gives you space to prepare a coffee and hot snack, that you can then enjoy on your balcony or terrace. Family Suites have a separate sleeping area for the kids.
A 5km drive will take you to the historic remains of Aptera, which includes a theatre and an ancient villa. If you’re feeling energetic you can follow the slightly shorter hiking trail up to this point of interest. Nature lovers can head to the green and shady Diktamos Gorge (13km away). If you have children that have an interest in printed media, then you should pay a visit to the Museum of Typography (10km away). Thanks to the coastal location there’s also opportunities to partake in water-based activities including rafting in the nearby river.
