Sol Tenerife is located on the beachfront in the heart of Playa de las Americas resort, just a short walk from Playa de Troya beach. Boasting three outdoor pools (one heated and one for the children), its own private car park and being on the doorstep of Siam Park, it is the ideal choice for a family holiday in the Canaries.
If you're hoping to wind down, relax on a sunbed or book a massage treatment. For active guests, the hotel has a gym and tennis courts. Table tennis, bowls, darts and pool are also available if you'd like something more low-key, or you can always join one of the dance classes. Parents with very young children can take advantage of the babysitting service (surcharge payable). Kids aged 5-12 can take advantage of the Mini Club offering a wide range of activities including arts and crafts, pirate parties, mini discos, treasure hunts and cooking workshops.
The hotel's seaview restaurant has an international buffet where you can choose from a wide range of fish, meat, salads, seasonal fruits and vegetables alongside delicious desserts. La Palapa, reserved for all-inclusive guests, offers a choice of hot and cold snacks, as well as a great selection of drinks from 11:30am to 6pm. The Pool Bar has a similar collection of beverages and light bites for everyone. In the evening chill with a long drink or cocktail in the lounge, which remains open until 1am. Or enjoy the entertainment programme, with indoor and outdoor live music and shows.
All rooms at Sol Tenerife have a satellite TV, WiFi, air conditioning, a hairdryer, a safe and a balcony or terrace. Families may wish to take advantage of the interconnecting option. Upgrade to a direct seaview, for a larger room, where on a good day you can spot the island of La Palma.
Playa de Troya is 450m from Sol Tenerife. The beach is part of a man-made bay, so you can enjoy fine sand and gentle waves. There's always plenty going on here, while there’s lots of restaurants and cafes with outdoor seating. At the south end of Playa de las Americas is the quieter beach of Playa del Camison, if you'd prefer a more peaceful day in the sun.
Children will relish a day trip to the nearby Thai-themed Siam Park, which includes a range of slides, rides, a water market and a lazy river. You can’t miss Teide, with its 3,750m summit, the highest point in Spain. Here you can see Paisaje Lunar, as the name suggests it looks like a structure that belongs on the moon but it was actually created by volcanic activity.
