Sol Tenerife is located on the beachfront in the heart of Playa de las Americas resort, just a short walk from Playa de Troya beach. Boasting three outdoor pools (one heated and one for the children), its own private car park and being on the doorstep of Siam Park, it is the ideal choice for a family holiday in the Canaries.

If you're hoping to wind down, relax on a sunbed or book a massage treatment. For active guests, the hotel has a gym and tennis courts. Table tennis, bowls, darts and pool are also available if you'd like something more low-key, or you can always join one of the dance classes. Parents with very young children can take advantage of the babysitting service (surcharge payable). Kids aged 5-12 can take advantage of the Mini Club offering a wide range of activities including arts and crafts, pirate parties, mini discos, treasure hunts and cooking workshops.

The hotel's seaview restaurant has an international buffet where you can choose from a wide range of fish, meat, salads, seasonal fruits and vegetables alongside delicious desserts. La Palapa, reserved for all-inclusive guests, offers a choice of hot and cold snacks, as well as a great selection of drinks from 11:30am to 6pm. The Pool Bar has a similar collection of beverages and light bites for everyone. In the evening chill with a long drink or cocktail in the lounge, which remains open until 1am. Or enjoy the entertainment programme, with indoor and outdoor live music and shows.

All rooms at Sol Tenerife have a satellite TV, WiFi, air conditioning, a hairdryer, a safe and a balcony or terrace. Families may wish to take advantage of the interconnecting option. Upgrade to a direct seaview, for a larger room, where on a good day you can spot the island of La Palma.

Playa de Troya is 450m from Sol Tenerife. The beach is part of a man-made bay, so you can enjoy fine sand and gentle waves. There's always plenty going on here, while there’s lots of restaurants and cafes with outdoor seating. At the south end of Playa de las Americas is the quieter beach of Playa del Camison, if you'd prefer a more peaceful day in the sun.

Children will relish a day trip to the nearby Thai-themed Siam Park, which includes a range of slides, rides, a water market and a lazy river. You can’t miss Teide, with its 3,750m summit, the highest point in Spain. Here you can see Paisaje Lunar, as the name suggests it looks like a structure that belongs on the moon but it was actually created by volcanic activity.

Spent a week at sol tenerife had read some bad reviews about this hotel but we had a lovely week staff were great, room was clean food was good I would certainly go again we had a lovely time I think some people just like to moan in general

Don’t rely on just the bad reviews

Jun 2022 | MD53025

We stayed here a couple of nights mid June feeling a little apprehensive due to seeing the bad reviews. 1. Let me just point out, if you get to this hotel and are disappointed that you can hear loud music, you clearly have not done any research prior to booking. This hotel is next to the strip (very convenient for some) so loud music is expected. We stayed on the 11th floor of block A facing the strip, I could hear the music, but not enough to not be able to sleep! Our party had a fabulous time here, would stay here again if needed. We wanted to be close to the strip so this hotel was perfect for us. For those who want an early night and a decent sleep maybe consider somewhere abit further away. Good points: Overall, the hotel is clean and tidy and rooms and pool areas are well maintained. The rooms have a good sized balcony, comfy beds, plenty of mirrors, places for suitcases, good sized bathroom and an under counter fridge. The buffet resultant has enough options to offer which should suit most people. We were all inclusive so cannot comment on drinks prices, but drinks were large meaning you’re not at the bar more frequent. The hotel bars will provide cans of water upon request, don’t buy them from the vending machine if you don’t have to. There are 2 largish pools and a small pool too. The hotel reception can call and book taxis when requested. There is a very handy gate in the pool area where you can access the back of the strip and the beach area, entry from door key and it closes at midnight. The hotel is a short taxi ride from the airport, approx 15 minutes and costs around 25 euros. Siam park via taxi costs 8 euros or a 30 minute walk Puerto colon via taxi costs 7 euros or a 30 minute walk 15 min walk to Hard Rock Café A few things to moan about: Some staff (more so at the pool bar) seem so moody and miserable, don’t even use manners! However, reception and housekeeping staff always said good morning and very helpful. Not enough sun beds around the pools and not allowed inflatables! The shop just outside the front was never open!! Even when we went at the opening times specified on the front door. Found a little supermarket over the road which had good prices. There was only one plug in each room, which was next to the fridge, meaning something like your phone would have to be on the floor. Balcony is only locked by a small latch, no physical lock. Could easily be broken off with some force. Air con in our room worked, but not very powerful, another guest stated hers was the same!

Great Family Holiday

Jun 2022 | andysullivan16

From start to finish we loved every minute. Family with 3 kids on half board for 10 days. After reading reviews we were a little apprehensive about the noise however block B pool view worked fine for us. Some noise but not enough to keep us awake. We enjoyed the food but after 7 days it can become a little repetitive. Hotel is in great location. Rooms were cleaned everyday and staff were exceptional. Shame about the no Lilo's in the pool. Really need to change this rule. ***KIDS CLUB*** Daniel, Charly & Lauda made the holiday for our kids. Full of energy, fun and passionate about making it enjoyable for the children. Our youngest child Charlie (who most people will recognise from around the pool and dancing on stage) will remember it for ever. He gives it 1 million stars ha ha
