History lovers: Nessebar holidays will take you to a beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Site. Go and explore the 5th-century church and marvel at the ancient ruins. Then find a quiet street café and watch the world go by.
Families: Beyond the beaches, the little ones (and the grown-ups) will love splashing around at Aquapark Nessebar. You’ll find slides to suit all levels of adventure here, or you could just spend the day in the pool. It’s up to you.

By foot: The best way to explore Nessebar is on foot. It’s not a particularly big town, so it’s pretty simple to navigate. Plus, there’s no better way to experience the joys of the Old Town.
By bus: Regular bus services run between Nessebar and Burgas; they leave every 20 minutes or so, from 6pm until 9pm. The trip takes around 45 minutes or so.
By boat: If you want to take a trip over to Sunny Beach, you can hop aboard a tourist boat from Nessebar. It’s less regular, and a little pricier than the bus, but it’s probably more fun.
National Pop Rock Festival: This annual national talent search takes place in the Old Town’s open-air theatre. 50 solo performers and groups take to the stage in a bid to bag the 4,000 lev prize. It’s worth going if you’re in town in late August or early September.
Nessebar Island of Art: A more traditional Bulgarian festival, this annual event takes place in July. Expect folk singers and dancers, classical and contemporary music, and some great street food. It’s a great way to experience a slice of local culture.
Easter: During Orthodox Easter, families head to local churches and play games with coloured eggs on Holy Saturday. It’s another way to gain an insight into local traditions, so keep an eye out for it if you’re in Nessebar over the Easter period.
