PortBlue Club Pollentia Resort & Spa

Pollentia Club Resort is a family-friendly hotel on the northern coast of Majorca. The stone buildings in the resort are arranged like a village and set in gardens dotted with tall palm trees. There are four swimming pools altogether at this hotel, including two outdoor pools, one heated indoor pool and a shallower pool for children. As well as having plenty for kids to enjoy, the hotel also has adults-only areas. St. John Villas & Spa Resort is steps away from the beach, and it runs a windsurfing school between April and October. The hotel has a range of sports facilities where you can enjoy games of squash, tennis, basketball and darts. If you want to keep fit during your stay, you can work out at the hotel's gym, as well as take part in fitness classes. For some downtime, you can enjoy a Turkish bath or a sauna at the hotel's spa, and book a massage or beauty treatment. Family entertainment is available during April to October and includes live shows. Kids can have fun in age-specific clubs that cater to everyone from toddlers to teens. There's also a kids' disco, as well as child-minding services. A whirlpool is available for over-16s as well, and the hotel has a sun terrace complete with views of the nearby ocean and coastline. You'll have the choice of two buffet restaurants, as well as a grill restaurant that offers a la carte dining exclusively for adults.

The hotel is 50m away from a small stretch of beach, and there are a few local activities nearby too, including cycling clubs. The wetlands and rivers of S'Albufera nature reserve are within walking distance of the resort. A shuttle bus that stops outside the hotel gives you access to nearby locations. Platja de Can Cap de Bou, a local beach, is along the coast from the resort, about 700m away. The historic town of Alcudia is 2.5km from the hotel, and there you'll find the Museu Monografic de Pollentia, a 14th-century museum that contains the remains of an ancient Roman city. The town has a number of bistros and Mediterranean restaurants as well. Port de Pollentia is 6km away, and has a sandy beach dotted with lots of places to eat and drink. The town of Port de Pollentia itself has a marina and a wide selection of shops. The marina area also has many international restaurants.

The hotel's two buffet restaurants (April to October) offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, and have barbecue theme nights twice a week. One of the buffet restaurants is adults only. The a la carte grill restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch, and has outdoor seating. Bars serve soft and alcoholic drinks, as well as snacks.

There's a water slide in the kids' pool as well as a playroom and a playground where younger guests can have fun and make new friends.

In your air conditioned room at the hotel you'll find a fridge, a minibar and a TV. You'll also have a balcony or terrace.

Very Pleasant Stay but only because....

We were shocked at our initial room which had a very old outdated yellow interior. What looked good on the outside of the hotel was disappointing on the inside of our room so not a good holiday start. I spoke to the manager the next morning and thankfully he gave us another room which was much better as it was modern and looked very clean and fresh compared to the first one we had. They need to update all their old, tired looking rooms to be more modern looking and not have the distasteful rooms like the one we had as this would be more appealing to guests. Onto the breakfast buffet, which is a good selection of hot and cold food and quality is good for a buffet. We never had dinner here as we always prefer to eat out at different restaurants in the evening so I can't comment on that. Pool area nice and clean and enjoyed both pools as one is the main pool for everyone and the other just for adults. Overall after a shock experience it was a good enjoyable stay given the nicer room. Would I go back?......Only if they get rid of the horrible basic rooms and make the room we got as the standard room!

Excellent staff; Shame about the food

Travelled with my wife for our anniversary. The facilities here are great. The rooms are nice and the spa facilities impressive. Almost all of the staff are excellent too - very friendly, attentive and go the extra mile. The location is OK; I suggest having a hire car as there is almost nothing in walking distance bar Alcudia old town. The main let down at this resort is the food. Whilst the grill bar offers excellent quality, the two buffet restaurants were lacking in both quality and choice (with the exception of breakfast which was very good). Such a shame as if the lunch and dinner options were better this would easily be a 5 star review!

Oct Half Term Holiday

For the most part we were very happy with our stay, great variety of drinks and food as part of the all inclusive package. Friendliness of staff and customer service could have been better, most staff clearly did not want to be there and were visibly irritated with having to do their jobs. The available facilities and cleanliness of the room and the hotel was great.
