Zafiro Palace Alcudia

Zafiro Palace is a luxurious family-friendly hotel in the Majorcan resort of Puerto de Alcudia. As well as offering fun and games for the children, there’s areas reserved just for the grown-ups. So, while the little guests are painting in the kids club or playing around on the pirate ship in the shallow pool, you could be chilling alongside the Adult Only oasis pool or relaxing in the rooftop Jacuzzi®.

Exciting activities for the children are led by Yzzy the mascot. She comes complete with a backstory of arriving at Zafiro Palace from Australia and being a koala, she sleeps for 20 hours a day. But for four hours per day, Yzzy’s organising treasure hunts, drama, foam parties and more.

The Spa & Wellness Centre is home to a further two swimming pools, as well as a sauna and Turkish bath. There’s also a choice of massages and treatments available to book (surcharge applies). A fully equipped gym and a bike rental service provides opportunities to maintain your fitness regime.

The main buffet restaurant boasts live cooking stations and child-friendly options. You may decide to treat yourself to a barbecued lunch or dinner at the poolside La Veranda. In the evening, there’s also a choice of three a la cartes. El Olivo dishes up local favourites, El Portico serves the finest Italian cuisine, while lovers of Japan’s favourite delicacy won’t want to miss out on a meal at Tastes & Sushi Bar. Please note the a la cartes have a smart dress code and your table must be reserved in advance. They may close in low season (November to April). If you book Half Board or All Inclusive you can dine at each one once per week for no additional charge.

If you need to make an early start you can take advantage of the Grab & Go service at the Coffee Corner, with snacks, coffee, tea and hot drinks available throughout the day. The main pool boasts a swim-up bar, while in the evening you can relax with a cocktail as you enjoy the live show.

The Junior Suites have enough space for four guests (max. three adults). They feature a king size bed, safe, minibar, bathtub, shower and a furnished balcony. Upgrades include access to a swim-up or private pool. Suites have separate sleeping areas and a television in both the bedroom and lounge. You’ll be just 2km from Alcudia town and if you don’t want to walk, cycle or drive, there’s a handy bus service. Within the fortifications of the Old Town you’ll find the 13th century Orati de Santa Anna church and a Monographic Museum, presenting archaeological exhibits from Roman times. The island’s capital (53km away) can also be reached by public transport. It boasts a prominent seafront cathedral and an Old Town where you can wander through a maze of cobbled streets. Art lovers should head into the Arabic quarter, where there’s a number of galleries displaying masteries. After a walk around one of the towns, visit a bakery to treat yourself to a Quartos Embetumat. These popular lemon cakes are both vegan friendly and gluten free.
