Castara Bay in Tobago
In the quaint fishing village of Castara is a small beach known as Castara Bay. It is crescent shaped with soft, tan coloured sands, and its shoreline is dotted with fishing boats. This beach isn't secluded but it's also not a busy beach, meaning it's an excellent choice for spending a day making most of the soft Caribbean sands without crowds of people. This beach is pretty and laid back but there's still plenty going on including kayaking, fishing and swimming.
At the end of the fishing day, there's usually a chance to get some freshly caught fish right off the boat. Castara Bay has some of the best dive sites on the island. The sea is usually calm and clear meaning you can see more of what lies beneath the water. The reefs range from gentle sloping, to steep drop-offs, as well as deep underwater peaks.
One of the unique qualities to Castara Bay is that you have an opportunity to see sting rays, so make sure you bring your snorkelling gear.
