The Aegean Riviera stretches along Turkey’s western coast, where the Aegean Sea meets rolling hills covered in olive groves and pine forests. This region enjoys a classic Mediterranean climate with long, hot summers and mild, pleasant winters. From June to September, expect plenty of sunshine – around 12 to 13 hours a day – and average daytime temperatures of 30-34°C. Rain is very rare in summer, with as little as 5-10mm falling across the entire month.
The Aegean Sea is calm and crystal clear, warming up to around 26-28°C in August, making it ideal for swimming and water sports. Autumn (September to November) brings slightly cooler but still comfortable weather, with daytime highs between 22°C and 28°C and nighttime lows around 10-15°C. Rainfall starts to increase gradually in late autumn, averaging 70-100mm per month by November.
Spring is another great time to visit the Aegean Riviera. Temperatures rise steadily from 18°C in March to about 24°C in May, and the landscapes are lush and green after the winter rains. Expect around 50-80mm of rainfall during these months, but most days remain bright and sunny – perfect for sightseeing and outdoor adventures before the summer heat sets in.
