Weather in Ocho Rios
Ocho Rios’ climate is very tropical thanks to its great location on Jamaica’s north coast. There’s not much variation of temperatures throughout the year, which means you can expect lots of warm weather no matter when you visit.
The annual average is in the high twenties and ranges from lows of 26°C in winter to highs of 29°C in summer. The warmest and the best time to go to Ocho Rios if you love the heat, is in August. There’s slightly more rainfall in the summer, but it won’t get in the way of your holiday.
The wettest month of the year is October, which has an average rainfall of 171mm. Rain falls in short, heavy bursts, which means it won’t be long before you’re back on the beach soaking up the tropical sunshine.
Coolest temperatures occur in January and February, but it’s still very warm and there isn’t as much rainfall as the summer. Make sure to wear plenty of sun cream in the winter and the summer, because it’s still very warm and sunny and you don’t want sunburn putting a downer on your trip.
