What’s the weather like in Montego Bay in July?
Sitting on the north-west coast of Jamaica, Montego Bay is a picturesque port town with a selection of great resorts and spectacular scenery. It’s hot all year round in Montego Bay thanks to its tropical climate, although this does bring a bit of rain over most months. July’s one of the driest months of the year, though, making this the perfect time to visit for the best beach weather. Even if it does rain, it doesn’t usually last for long, with downpours quickly making way for clear skies.
In July, the average temperature in Montego Bay is 29ºC, reaching highs of 33ºC in the peak of the afternoon. With these temperatures and extremely high UV levels, it’s important to apply high factor sun cream, stay well hydrated, and seek shade in the hottest part of the day. You’ll also want air conditioning in your hotel room, as the temperature only drops to an average low of 24ºC at night. Around 50mm of rain’s expected over 13 days in July, while the Caribbean Sea’s a perfect 29ºC this month, great for swimming and snorkelling.
