What’s the weather like in Bahamas in December?
Visitors love taking a luxurious trip to these Caribbean islands around Christmas. The Bahamas weather in December is cooler and more comfortable than in summer, but there’s much less rain and hours of sunshine as you sunbathe by the beaches and your pool.
Geographical influences
The Bahamas have a hot tropical climate. The drier season’s from November to April and December’s one of the driest months. Southern islands, near to Cuba, have fewer showers than those in the north by Florida. Warm Gulf Stream air spreads easily across the Bahamas as the landscape’s flat and low.
Averages
Because of the Caribbean conditions, the weather in Bahamas in December sees very warm temperatures and lots of sunshine. The average daytime high’s around 26°C, with seven hours of sunshine from 11 hours of daylight. The temperature dips to only 20°C on occasional milder days. The Atlantic’s the perfect place to cool off. At 25°C, you’ll love swimming in the clear blue ocean and maybe try some snorkelling and diving. The December showers will produce only about 44mm of rain over 12 wet-weather days and you’ll only need a light waterproof jacket. The heat and humidity levels are low compared to summer and the UV index drops too.
