What's the weather like in Barbados in September?

Barbados is at the meeting point of the Caribbean Sea and North Atlantic Ocean, and has hot tropical weather. It’s just 13 degrees north of the equator, so there’s high temperatures all year round. Although September’s in the wet season, you'll still get lots of warm and sunny weather if you book your Barbados holidays at this time.

Climatic influences

Barbados’ wet season starts towards the end of May and lasts until early December, although there’s similar daily sunshine hours to the dry season. Rains and storms usually come in short and heavy bursts, meaning there’s plenty of long, clear days in September. Trade winds that blow in from the Atlantic Ocean will keep you cool, while there’s not much difference in weather around the island as it’s relatively flat. There’s more rain in the hills though, and the north and east Atlantic coasts are usually a bit rougher than the west Caribbean coast.
