“Once great property in a rebuild phase”
After reading all the bad reviews I almost canceled our reservation. We had stayed at the Plantation 10 years ago and it was quite nice. We figured if the room was bad, at least we had the pool. We arrived and checked in to find the room was fine, but the pool was closed. Funny. The entire property is about 80% under reconstruction. Most of the rooms are completely gutted, except for the building we were in. It makes for a weird feel, like you are in a zombie movie. Our visit went well. We rented a patio boat at the Adventure center and had a great day on the bay. Jim at the docks was super helpful. The room was comfortable and the A/C and fridge worked. The drawbacks currently are no amenities. No bar, restaurant, or pool. It wasn't much of a drawback for us, so I didn't feel too put out. I can certainly see how people would be upset by the current state of this once great property. Ironically they have a video in rotation on the tv featuring the Plantation in its heyday. That doesn't really help. Overall we had a fine stay. I would have liked paying less than $200 a night, and as I write this it appears there is a $92 special. We would probably return in a few years when the work is done.

“Good place to stay keeping in mind the reconstruction”
We came for two nights fully aware that the hotel was in the middle of rebuilding after the devastation of the hurricane of 2025 Our room was spotless the staff could not have been more helpful The continental breakfast was more than ample We went on the manatee tour but did not want to snorkel The staff fully understood and we had a fabulous cruise round the waterways with an excellent lady captain Considering what they have gone through with hurricane damage it’s a miracle that they are carrying on Keep up the good work

“Do not recommend”
Fire alarms went off in the middle of the night 2 days in a row, pool said its open on website but it wasn't,tried to wash laundry it took my money filled up with water then shut down.No apologies or compensation from the hotel . Security said there's a glitch in fire alarms, front desk said someone was smoking. Maintenance said they dont own laundry machines and the front desk told me how to get to laundry mat.Had to drag soaking wet clothes out and drive to laundry.Hotel refuses a refund because of their policy,so unfortunately Im stuck here 4 more nights.

“%30.00. Ramp fees!! Ridiculous .!!”
This a review about the boat ramp fees and the rude person in the office. I’m a lang time Elderly handicapped resident fisherman on a limited income. When I expressed my opinion on the high ramp fee I was told that if I didn’t like it to take my boat down Ft. Islnd Tr’s Ramp. I. Already paid $20.00 to put my boat in 5 months ago and had my trailer and boat hear to take it out so I paid the fee but NOT until I told them that their swim boats weren’t. Welcome down by my house and the swimmers aren’t welcome to swim under or around my dock anymore.. I can’’t wait!! Let’s we how much this review is going to cost the new owners???

“Great Improvements Under New Ownership”
The room is clean, and it looks like the new owner is really putting a lot of effort into renovating the place. I like the improvements so far!
