Pine Valley Hotel is perfect for family-friendly holidays near Olu Deniz. It’s in Hisaronu, a popular village resort on Turkey’s south western coast. Set on a hillside amongst pine trees and olive groves, the hotel’s 500m from the bars, cafes and restaurants of the resort centre and an easy journey from some of Dalaman’s best beaches. Whether you’re taking a break with or without kids, you’ll find everything you want right here.

Centred around a pair of outdoor pools, complete with water slides and a separate kids’ pool, Pine Valley is a great place to unwind under the Mediterranean sun. When you’re not taking a dip, stretch out with a drink from the poolside bar, or stroll over to the garden bar for a change of scene. And if you want to turn the chillout levels up a notch, check in at the Turkish bath and spa for some ‘me time’. There’s a tempting menu of beauty and wellness therapies, from a classic hammam session to seaweed body wraps and hot stone massages.

Want to get moving? You’re in luck with aerobics classes, water polo and darts tournaments amongst the activities on offer. Meanwhile, over at the kids’ club, there’s all sorts for intrepid young travellers to do, from the calm of reading time and the creative play of arts and crafts, to the joy of having their faces painted as their favourite animal. And with a playroom and playground, they’ll have plenty of chance to let off steam.

Evenings are just as much fun all round, kicking off with a kids’ disco before the main entertainment. If that all sounds like a great warm-up for a late one, make your way to the bar afterwards or head into the centre of Hisaronu, where the night is still young. This resort is a great place for nightlife, so pack your dancing shoes!

For days by the sea, hop on the hotel shuttle bus to the famous, much-photographed Olu Deniz, which is 4km away. As well as chilling on the beach and exploring the Blue Lagoon nature reserve, make sure you catch the sunset from one of the rooftop bars and restaurants while you’re there. For more incredible views, follow the walking trails up Babadag Mountain (16.5km from Hisaronu). It’s totally worth it for the breathtaking vistas of pine-clad mountains, colourful valleys, sandy coves and the sparkling Med.

There’s a local experience of a different kind much closer to your lounger, too. With Turkish cuisine served on the buffet in the main restaurant, you won’t have to go far at all to try some mouthwatering regional dishes. It’s open for breakfast and dinner, with the option to make the most of the weather and dine alfresco if you like. There's also an a la carte restaurant. Both offer kids’ options, which should help keep your little adventurers happy.

After all that, you’re going to want somewhere comfy to rest your head. Take your pick from standard twin/double rooms (up to 3 people) and family rooms, which have both a double room and a separate bunkbed room. Whichever you book, it will be easy to relax in your own space with satellite TV channels, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a minibar and a balcony. Booked through Tui supposed to be 4* just scrapes in as a 3* and that's only due to the staff

Whilst you can't fault the staff who I found to be friendly and helpful, as well as the housekeeping staff who did a wonderful job. The overall impression of the hotel is run down and dropping to bits. Just looking around the lower parts of the buildings the stairways in particular you can see lots of cracks in walls. From rock hard beds to a sink which would not hold water due to the fact there was a screw jammed in the plug hole not to mention the shower cubicle which did nothing to keep the water from flooding the bathroom floor and a shower head which was fixed in one position (perfect for a face full of water as the cubicle was so small you were unable to move around to get out of the weak stream of lukewarm water). And if you wish to use the swimming pool I would suggest taking a 7mm wetsuit as the water temperature is arctic cold.

Fantasic Hotel and Staff

Stayed here with my sister and 3 boys aged 8/10/15. Had an amazing time. The rooms were lovely, location of the hotel is a 10mins steady walk to Hisaronu, Megi, Aguero, Baki, and Sulley were all fantastic staff and always made sure we were ok. Some entertainment was still on but as we came to the end of the holiday, most of it was closing down, so the nights were rather chilled but never the less, we have booked for next year at the same time again. Breakfast was lovely, always something from continental to omelets and pancakes. The hotel and rooms were very well looked after and clean. Food in the poolside snack bar was really nice too and Ali Baysiz hairdressers next door is also amazing prices and excellent job! Pool for kids with the slides open twice a day and manned by staff. Also a play area upstairs with table football, ping pong, pool table and ball pool. Also a small shop on site I can image peak season that this hotel would be mental, but in october, pick of sun loungers, and a lovely atmosphere. Even the staff said they loved this time as they could speak with customers Cant wait to see you all again

Pancake guy was the highlight of the hotel

Good hotel, staff are all friendly, in a good area short walk into the main strip where you can shop, eat and book trips. This was my first time in turkey and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Food was nice at the hotel but noticed that towards the end of the stay you were getting less and less choice. Entertainment wasn’t great but there was plenty to keep you entertained outside of the hotel. Pancakes at breakfast were the highlight of my mornings, and the guy making them was so friendly and always offered a fist bump, he made my mornings. Only thing I would say is that the drains had a tendency to smell now and again and that when the rooms got cleaned they left the windows open letting the mosquitoes in. All in all a brilliant holiday and a superb hotel would definitely stay again.
