Located in Belek, this Turkish gem is a real delight. A wonderland theme park, three a la carte restaurants, a spa and a chocolate house, are just some of the exciting range of features on offer at this luxurious family-friendly resort. And it’s only a 30-minute drive from Antalya Airport.
Wonderland is much more than just a theme park. You can spend hours on the fairground rides, having fun in the wave pool, drifting along the lazy river or disappearing into the black hole. The waterpark is open seasonally, depending on occupancy and weather. There are further adult only pools, as well as kid friendly options, complete with waterslides. If you get peckish let your nose guide you to the delicious offerings from the street food trucks. You can make your stay even more luxurious by reserving one of the five pavilions (payable locally) where you will be served champagne, fruits, chocolates, desserts and snacks.
The Grandy Kids Club caters for all young guests. Tired toddlers can have an afternoon nap in the sleeping room, while primary school aged children can take part in a fun mock archaeological excavation. Meanwhile, the teenagers have a kick around on the football pitch or challenge their mates to Playstation® games. A mini disco is held daily, alongside a cinema club and workshops.
Within the spa guests have complimentary access to two indoor pools (one saltwater), two saunas, a steam room, a Turkish bath, a salt room and a fitness centre. For an additional charge you can book a massage or a beauty treatment.
The Grand Sabor main restaurant is open for all meals. Even sleepy heads won’t miss out on breakfast, as it’s offered until 11am. While in the evening make your selection from the tasty Italian, Ottoman and Asian options. But leave some space for a visit to Lochi Chocolate House. Here, you can sample luxury handmade cocoa products, before deciding which ones you’re going to take home to treat your favourite friends to. That is, if you can resist the temptation to eat them on the plane home.
For something special, reserve a table for dinner at one of the a la carte restaurants. Meat eaters will want to get their teeth into something juicy at the Steakhouse. While pescetarians may opt for the Azul Felicia seafood restaurant. Alternatively, take your taste buds on a journey around the world at Carat, where only the finest international cuisine is served.
In the main building you will find three bars open until midnight, all of which serve a refreshing range of soft and alcoholic drinks. But as your name isn’t Cinderella, you can dance the night away until 2am at the Back Street Disco Bar. While you’re in Turkey you must visit the Coffee Shop to sample some real Turkish coffee. Plus, as you’d expect there are bar options both poolside and on the beach.
Standard rooms are air conditioned and boast a balcony, a double bed, a single bed and a sofa. The mini bar (restocked daily) contains complimentary mineral water, beer, soft drinks, crackers and salted peanuts. The Family option features two bedrooms and sleeps up to four, while the Deluxe Family offers an additional shower and accommodates groups of five. Or for an even more luxurious stay choose the second floor Lake House room where you benefit from your own Jacuzzi.
Within Belek you will find golf courses and sandy beaches. The town centre is a 15-minute walk from the resort, where the impressive 19th century stone clock tower and the minaret towers act as useful navigational aids. While you’re in the area you shouldn’t miss the open air Sandland museum to the east of Antalya. Here, sculptors show off their skills using sand to mould an impressive range of creatures. At night they are illuminated using all colours of the rainbow, creating the perfect conditions for an Instagrammable shot of a lion, mermaid, knight or temple.
