Not a 4star
Not a 4 star hotel! Very disappointing.. was for October half term with 2 kids and the grandparents. Weather was very good - pools freezing but okay when your in. Indoor pool pointless as have to pay and not for under 8s never saw anyone use it! Entertainment poor! No day time entertainment at all?! I understand it’s October but is half term and the hotel was busy with families! Kids club is 5-7pm whaaaat! My 2 attended one day and were allowed to leave on their own before 7pm! They was bored. Evening entertainment not what is expected from a 4 star hotel! Bingo! With the chance to win a draw string bag. The live music was average! No shows or nightly kids disco! Very boring for kids. Staff- mostly rude tbf! It appears you get better service and treatment if your not wearing an all inclusive band! Drinks - okay, cocktails out of a machine average. However if you was paying for the same cocktail it’s made fresh in front of you! Alfredo warmed to us towards the end of the holiday and Raul was very nice. The others don’t want to know you!! Rooms- basic modern, no kettle in the room why? This is 4star! Bathroom again basic modern. Maids came daily but only to literally make the bed! We had empty glasses and bottles which were basically left all week! Did not sweep floors so most nights sand would be in the sheets! Our room key stopped working 7 times - reception was not bothered at all! Flies and mosquitos! I understand this can’t be helped and is what it is but wow It’s very hard to relax around the pool when the flies constantly land on you. - take mosquito repellent for sure! The positives! - food is actually very nice, breakfast was basic and not a lot of variety but lunch and dinner was really tasty. There is a station to self serve your drinks however it doesn’t work! So it’s water or OJ however if your a paying customer you get bottles of drinks and wine brought to your table! On our 2nd day an OAP couple were leaving to return to UK… they were stopped outside the hotel while waiting for a taxi with their bags. They were spoken to by a Spanish lady as a distraction while her male companion stole the couples bags including there passports/money/ keys etc! - be aware Location- 10/15 walk to beach and shops Hotel is a good base to explore but definitely not 4 star!
Disappointed
Visited as a group of 6. (2 kids, one 3 and the other 10) Was very disappointed with this hotel. Negatives Staff are rude, the level of service you receive compared to self cantering is unreal! We went all inclusive, had no drinks as the machine wasn’t working all week, but people paying would get bottles Pepsi max etc and beers. Also self catering customers get waiter service at night but will not come to you once looking at your wrist knowing your all inclusive Empty glasses around the pool not collected On a few days Rooms are modern but very basic, maid may have made the beds but never changed them, sheets felt horrible! We currently have about 12 glasses in our room which has been here since day 2. Yes we should clear them but normally the maid takes them away? A lot safer when you have kids!? Pool was freezing which couldn’t be helped due to the time of year. No day time entertainment Kids club! Well that wasn’t what we expected, kids ended up back at our door before finishing unattended Life guard has the best job, was a sleep most days haha You have to scan your wristband for every drink which becomes annoying Room key stopped working several times. Was told not to hold near iPhone which we did but still didn’t work! Mosquito island! Got bit up so much! Also flies everywhere Wifi is shocking Entertainment was embarrassing not what we expected from a 4 star! Positives Food was average, variety most days Pool bar serves burgers which are nice. Air con is good in the rooms Alfredo & Raul were nice guys once they warmed to you All in all wouldn’t attend this hotel again
Lovely hotel fantastic staff
We have been in the Regin Gran 3 weeks now,as soon as we arrived we were treated very welcoming by reception, the bedrooms are spotless, bed linens towels are replace every day by very trustworthy staff, also pleasant staff, dining room staff are so friendly and welcoming each meal, pleasure to see them.food is nice and plenty off it,the hotel is constantly getting cleaned its a pleasure to be here,we have one more week here and look forward to it,we have enjoyed our time here thanks to everyone who works in this hotel. But then you always get the moaners, beds to soft, beds to hard, food rotten, cold, not enough, mossie bites, you get bites in every resort, what do they want ?do they all live in palaces??? These people who work in Regina gran go out of their way to be polite and helpful and some people are pig ignorant to them, wise up or shut up.all you moaners.
