Paleokastritsa Monastery Greece

For a picture perfect beach experience like something you've only ever seen on a postcard, head to Paleokastritsa beach on Corfu's west coast. Here you can soak up the sun on the beautiful beach or take a paddle in the perfect waters, so clear that you can see the bottom.

If you prefer to keep dry, you can take a boat trip and visit all the quaint coves and hidden caves in the area, before heading back to land for a bite to eat in one of the nearby restaurants. Once you're fully re-fuelled, a trip to Paleokastritsa wouldn't be complete without taking on the fun climb up to the famous monastery.

Perched on a small peninsula mountain, it boasts great views from the top. Beautiful and serene, the inside and the gardens are equally as impressive to look around. It's still a working monastery, so women are required to cover their shoulders and knees on arrival, but shawls are provided when you get there. It's free to get inside, but you are asked to give a small donation if you want to light a candle while you're in there.
