Beach

The hotel is situated directly on the sandy beach of Protaras. You will enjoy the convenience of the hotel's unique sunbed allocation system, where your chosen lounger on the hotel's manicured lawns is reserved for your exclusive use for the entire stay at no extra charge. If you prefer to sit directly on the public sand, sun loungers and umbrellas are available at an extra charge from local beach providers.

“Beautiful stay at The Sunrise Beach Hotel”

Where do I start - we had another fabulous stay at The Sunrise. As always an extremely warm welcome from Maria and all her amazing team, they will do anything to help and make your stay the best it can be. They are so helpful and chatty, always speak as your going by they are lovely people, and will help with any issue or advise you want. They really are the best reception staff in all the hotels I've stayed in. A massive thank you as always to the beautiful, kind and caring Justine, she is amazing, looks after you every day nothing is to much trouble, she goes out of her way everyday to make sure you have everything you want and more. A true asset to the hotel, she speaks and looks after everyone. Justine is helped out by Amit what a lovely person he is, always smiling, happy and chatty and looks after you well. Not forgetting Prakesh what a great guy he is, happy, helpful always had some great chats with him over a drink or two another great asset to the hotel along with Amit The evening team ran by the lovely Lenka - all amazing and looked after you really well, always topping up your drinks with a smile Yash at the adult pool bar is such a happy fun person, makes beautiful spicy spicy sandwiches at lunchtime, another great asset to the hotel. Not forgetting the amazing Yanni and all his team at the beach bar, happy friendly staff and great service every day. Both our stays in 2026 were on the 6th floor - rooms great and the cleaners were amazing, room cleaned to a high standard every day and always a hello/wave or smile if we seen them, we never needed to ask for anything. So thank you Sunrise for another year of fantastic holidays, see you all in 2027 Have a great break, take care. Love to you all Kevin & Janice S 😍x x

“A Wonderful Stay for the Second Time – We'll Definitely Be Back!”

We stayed at Sunrise Beach Hotel for the second time, and once again, we had a wonderful experience! We truly love this hotel and everything it has to offer. The location is fantastic, the facilities are excellent, and the rooms are spacious, modern, clean, and well-maintained. The staff throughout the hotel are polite, welcoming, and always ready to help. We would especially like to highlight the kindness of the chef at the main restaurant. When he noticed that the soup of the day wasn’t suitable for our baby, he kindly offered to prepare a separate soup for her. This thoughtful gesture really touched us and made us feel that guests’ needs are genuinely cared for. We also absolutely love the sunbed system, where each room is assigned its own numbered sunbeds. It’s such a convenient and well-organized solution, allowing guests to relax without worrying about finding available sunbeds every day. A special thank you as well to the gentleman at the hotel entrance, who was always so friendly, polite, and welcoming. His warm attitude made a great impression on us. Overall, Sunrise Beach Hotel offers everything we look for in a relaxing family holiday: a beautiful location, great facilities, cleanliness, and, most importantly, genuinely caring people. We enjoyed our stay just as much as the first time and will definitely be coming back again! Highly recommended!

“4 star experience for 5 star price”

Second time I've stayed here, first about a decade ago. Maybe my standards have improved, maybe its standards have slipped. First thing to say is, wow, it was crowded, in October! Everything was. The sun lounger areas, the restaurants, the lifts, reception, the corridors. So many people! Regular rooms are pretty tiny. Ours was supposed to have a sea view, and I suppose it did, but I would have called it a side sea view. For some reason, the rooms facing the sea directly have all glass panels on the balcony which does not interrupt your view when sitting down, but the side facing rooms have a thick metal bar at the top of the glass panels which sits right in your field of view when sitting. 2 free small bottles of water in the room on the first day, and no more after that. Really, in a 5*? Only had a few lunches in the hotel restaurant, food was average to say the least (and cold on one occasion). The "grass" sun lounger area was basically mud. All the people have worn the grass away, and it looks like some re-seeding is going on, but despite perfectly dry weather, it was all muddy because of the daily irrigation. Several of the hotels along the sea front have given up on grass and have installed AstroTurf - maybe it's time for this if you insist on cramming so many people in that the grass doesn’t stand a chance. Mud under bare feet is not pleasant. "Adult" pool doesn’t get much sun so was freezing cold. Managers cocktail evening was nice and appreciated. The staff were universally lovely and professional.

“1 Week Half Term Break 🇨🇾☀️”

We have just returned from the Sunrise Beach yesterday for the half term break. I’m Writing this review whilst it’s fresh in my mind. We have stayed here before although it was 10/11 years ago so it has had some changes to it but lots still as I remember it. Location: The location is great even if it’s a 45-50 min transfer as it’s located in the middle of the Protarus strip backing onto the beach. You have to go down a sloped road to the reception so you are away from the noise of the strip. The view is wonderful looking out to the Med. When we arrived it was approaching midnight so it was very quiet in the reception area. We were greeted with a fresh orange juice and a ham and cheese baguette whilst we checked in. Room: The room was clean and modern with a walk in shower and a great sea view from our balcony. The only thing that I thought wasn’t great was the single put up bed for our child. It was very uncomfortable to lye on as you could feel the metal support through the mattress. Food: The buffet restaurant had everything you would want at breakfast time and the mini hash browns were lovely 😋 There was plenty of seats/tables available and it wasn’t too noisy but I think that’s due to the time of year maybe. We spent lunch times at our sun beds as you can order snacks from the beach bar. There’s lots of choice and it was nice to eat. We did go into the restaurant for one day to have lunch but bear in mind if you are paying then you will notice the prices are increased when you sit in the restaurant. For evening meals there are a few on site restaurants you have to book using the reception stand up touchscreen near the desk. We went into Marchellos (Italian) and Lemongrass (Asian) both were nice. I also seen the Reef American restaurant is still here. I remember all 3 of these restaurants when we came years ago. Entertainment: The entertainment was very poor as it’s tucked around the corner of the reception area but I’m thinking the hotel aren’t really focused or invested on evening entertainment because it’s so close to the strip where there’s lots going on. We did come back to the hotel a bit earlier one evening and there was a singer on but it was just very echoey and just not great. The reception area has changed a lot since last time we came. They have got rid of the fish tank and it doesn’t feel warmly when you walk in. It lacks soul and we felt it was too clinically decorated, not enough greenery/colour. It was very bland. Other bits to mention: The hotel provides you with your own dedicated sun beds so there’s no sun-bed wars The pool was cold and mostly in the shade (due to time of year) The grass area where we were situated was looking very tired. The grass was long and lots of debris. I didn’t see any groundsmen about at all and we would come down each morning to see drinking cups and other rubbish still at the surrounded sun beds. The hotel was more catered for the German population as we didn’t see many British there. Please say a big thank you to Yannis who I can’t believe is still here at the beach bar! A great guy and I remember him from our last time. Overall we had a nice week but I wouldn’t put this as a 5 star hotel anymore. When we came here years ago it was definitely a 5 star hotel but it has definitely fallen behind other 5 star hotels we have stayed at and we even stayed at a 4 star hotel in pathos in July which was better to be honest. We have very fond memories of Protarus so we might return again one day, whether it will be at this hotel I’m not too sure. Thank you Sunrise Beach Hotel 🇨🇾☀️
