BLUE SEA Lanzarote Palm is on the south coast of Lanzarote, one of the Spanish Canary Islands. The island, which is off the coast of North Africa and has a subtropical climate, is famous for its volcanic landscape and its beaches. The hotel is in a popular area a short walk from the beach in Puerto del Carmen, a seaside resort with lots of bars and shopping opportunities. The hotel consists of whitewashed buildings in a Mediterranean style. There are palm trees dotted around the grounds, plus a garden where you can lounge on in the sun. The hotel has two outdoor pools, one of which is for children. As you enjoy the outside area, you can get a drink at the pool bar between dips. There's a pool table if you fancy challenging a fellow guest to a game or two over a beer. Reception is open 24 hours a day and there's a mini market where you can pick up essentials. When it's time to head out of the hotel, you'll find plenty to experience in the wider area surrounding BLUE SEA Lanzarote Palm. If you fancy going further afield, you could visit Arrecife, the island's capital city, which is within driving distance of the hotel. Those interested in the island's geological history may wish to go to Timanfaya National Park, also within driving distance, in the northeastern part of the island. Here you can admire volcanic scenery and hold stones that have been warmed from the magma that lies 4km below.
Lanzarote Palm is in Puerto del Carmen and 500m away from the beach. This wide stretch of sand is suitable for bathing and playing games. On Avenida de las Playas, along the seafront, you'll find the widest selection of shops and a range of bars, some of which show sporting events. For a quieter afternoon, you could wander to El Varadero harbour, where you can get a feel for a working Canarian port. There is an ATM approx. 500 meters from the hotel. Golf fans may choose to have a round or two on the course that's a short drive away from the hotel. For a day trip, you may choose to head to Arrecife, which is around 15km away heading east along the coast. Here you'll find further bars and restaurants. You could wander along the promenade and visit the two castles or a museum. There's also a beach with a lagoon.
There's a buffet restaurant at the hotel. For eating out, you'll find a number of options in Puerto del Carmen, including local tapas bars and international options such as Italian and British pub food. You may also wish to try some locally caught seafood during your stay.
For an exhilarating afternoon out, you could head to the water park that's with driving distance of smartline Lanzarote Palm, beyond Arrecife.
Rooms at Lanzarote Palm are airy and decorated in neutral hues with colourful accents. All have a separate living area with a sofa bed.

2nd visit…….
Was here last May and what a difference 7 months makes. The food wasn’t as good, mostly pork and chicken. We were given room 63 which has the kitchen extractor fan just outside which goes 24/7. We asked for a move but it took 3 days. On that point the receptionist was helpful and even helped us with our bags to the new room. Didn’t get her name but she had short blonde hair and was very pretty. Can’t fault any of the staff when it comes to that. One small point that may not be under the hotels control. Last May the pool table cost 1 euro and the table was in constant use. Now it’s 2 euros I doubt it was used 10 times during our fortnight. Seems like false economy to me. In May smoking was confined to one spot now it’s anywhere. Will have to think long and hard before returning.
Great Winter Getaway in Lanzarote
I have just returned from a 7 night stay at the Bluesea Lanzarote Palm on an All Inclusive basis. This was my first time staying at the resort and overall I was more than satisfied with what I received based on what I spent to stay at the resort. For me, the best asset of this resort was the staff. All members of staff working in all functions of the resort who we encountered were approachable, friendly and happy to help. We arrived at around 9:15pm along with a coach transfer of other guests. The guy working on reception (unfortunately didn’t catch his name) was fantastic with us, he offered us to leave our stuff with the reception team and to go grab some dinner before the restaurant shuts at 9:30pm so that we did not go hungry, this was really appreciated following a long day travelling. Once dinner was over, the check in process was efficient and smooth. Great level of detail on services and facilities was provided. We we’re staying in Room 40, which was located at the rear of the resort, behind the bar/restaurant. Although a bit tired and in need of a bit of TLC the room was more than adequate and provided you with everything you need, including facilities for SC guests. The cleaning team done a great job in maintaining the standards. Towels were changed every 2 days as explained at check in, however Towels could be changed daily on request. The only real fault I could pick out was the noisy generator situated right in front of our balcony that went on from 6:30am to 10pm daily… Kind of took away from wanti to sit out on the balcony and enjoy the views. With saying that, I appreciate that we were just unlucky with our room allocation and if the balcony door was shut it did not interrupt our sleep so it is not the end of the world! Whilst there was no pool view, the room offered a lovely mountain/sea view. The pool area was very clean and well maintained, the Plastic Cup system in use is a great initiative and helps keep the public areas clean. Getting sunbeds was never a problem in January, however I would imagine in peak season it would be a little harder. However, there is plenty of space around the pool for more beds to be added- perhaps there are during peak season. The sunbeds were OK, however there were multiple occasions that we got damaged or broken ones. Whilst we stayed on an All Inclusive Basis we ate out 5 of the 7 nights of our stay due to not enjoying limited options provided for dinner time. Personally it was one of the poorer AL buffets i’ve came across. Whilst I know a lot of guests agreed that the food selection was poor, I’m equally sure it would cater to other guests tastes. Breakfast was always a safe option with a selection of hot and cold foods available. The drinks selection on the All Inclusive was great and was never any issues at the bar. Again, the 3 guys working on the bar throughout our stay were attentive & very friendly. As mentioned above I think the plastic cup scheme in place is a great initiative. I think this hotel would benefit from an indoor bar area for the non peak season where it is cold in the evenings as guests were all huddled around 3 heaters outside- which was off putting staying around the resort in the evenings. I think this resort is a located in a prime spot, it provides all the basic necessities required to have a comfortable holiday. Whilst I think the rooms are a little tired and the food selection poor I still feel that the resort offers good value for money. The staff made our stay and I would definitely consider staying again, but on a self catering basis as the food was not to our taste, and eating out is cheap with lots of options nearby. I believe if some minor changes were made to the resort it would be a great 4* resort & would bring people back time and time again. Thanks for a hospitable stay, we left feeling relaxed & rejuvenated!
