Sleep Quality

Did the job!

Jan 2022 | Meagan L
We arrived on Boxing Day and stayed for a week. The apartments were clean and the army of cleaners did a great job, coming every other day, to keep things sanitary and safe. Fairly basic but you get what you pay for and has all the things you’d need if you were self-catering (pans, pots, microwave, hob, kettle, toaster, fridge). TV in living room as well as a table inside and outside on the terrace/balcony. Beds were obviously quite old - the mattress were sunken and had a dip on the middle but not awful. The shower was large but you only got a few minutes of hot water before it went freezing cold (when speaking to other guests, everyone seemed to have this problem). Some staff were particularly quite grumpy. The cleaners, cooks and older female waitress were nice and always helpful. Everyone else seemed a bit unhappy to be there. In terms of accessibility, if you have mobility issues this isn’t the place for you. There’s two lots of stairs minimum and no disabled access. If you’re upstairs there’s also stairs up to there. The area is also incredibly hilly. The taxis down to Amadores and Puerto Rico centre are cheap enough, around €3-4, but around the local area there are lots of steep hills and steps so wouldn’t recommend if travelling with any mobility issues. The walk down to Amadores is around 20 mins or so down a very step hill, the pavement is also quite a slippery tile material, but again taxis are cheap enough if needed. Food was slightly repetitive and not a super wide range of choice, but what was there was nice. There was a Chinese night which was great. There’s lots of local restaurants to eat out if you’d like to which we also did (particularly recommend Monacos in Amadores and Caravaggio in Mogan). Breakfast was the best meal of the day in my opinion and would recommend at least doing bed and breakfast, coffee was great as well as wide selection of breakfast foods. The only thing I would have liked and would recommend the hotel to do is to label the food. Nothing was labelled so it was a bit of a guess each day. Labelling the food would not only be nice to know what you’re getting to prevent any waste from putting food on your plate that you may not actually like but also useful for anyone with allergies. Drinks were self serve for wines, beer, sangria and soft drinks throughout the day which were handy! Alcohol isn’t branded (branded is extra money) but does the job and available throughout the day as are toasties and ice creams between meals to help yourself to. There are two pools, one heated, one not. Fairly small pools but nice to dip into in the heat and clean. Entertainment was a bit lack lustre. Same guy doing a drag show for two nights and another live singer with guitar. The drag queen spent more time changing behind a curtain than performing for a lot of it. The singer was slightly depressing and not the upbeat holiday entertainment we’d expected. We asked for late check out but the hotel was full but we were able to store our suitcases and the reception also had toilets and showers to use which was great and much appreciated. Overall, a good stay. If you’re looking for 5 star holiday, that’s not what you’re going to get as that’s not what you’re paying for. The price was reasonable for what we received. While it was fairly basic, it was a good base for what we needed.

Not really worth it

Been here a few times but unfortunately this is by far the worst and last stay. The food especially the lunch and dinner wasn't worth entertaining which is unfortunate as we had boked all inclusive. The cleaners where brilliant and friendly. The barman is really nice chatty and friendly which is more than I can say about the young barmaid never met somebody so grumpy and disinterested. The beer did taste funny at times and your all inclusive cocktails come from a machine. Vile. The rooms are fine basic but fine. And forget about WiFi. All in all poor food crap drinks no WiFi and ok apartments not really worth it.
