Mogan Princess & Beach Club
2406 reviews
Mogan Princess & Beach Club sits on the south western coast of Gran Canaria, the largest of Spain's Canary Islands. Perched on the hillside of the Taurito Valley, the hotel is spread over six levels, and is within walking distance of Taurito beach. It has panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. The beach is a sandy stretch of coastline popular with visitors, and it has a promenade. The hotel provides a shuttle bus to take guests to the beach and back. Mogan Princess & Beach Club has two swimming pools, and a pool for children. The swimming pools are surrounded by sun terraces where you can relax with a drink or snack from the pool bar, which is next to the biggest pool. The main pool has views across the bay of Taurito. Mogan Princess & Beach Club also has a bar that sits directly on the sand at Taurito beach, and when staying at the hotel you can get drinks and light snacks or meals while you sit by the water's edge. The rooms are decorated in a light and airy style with bright colours, and all come with either a balcony or a terrace. The staff organise a range of games and sports for guests who like to keep active on holiday. You can also challenge friends or family to a game of pool or table tennis. After a day of sightseeing, you can relax with a cocktail and watch the evening entertainment. There's Wi-Fi in all public areas of the hotel if you can't wait to share your holiday snaps.
Mogan Princess is 1.4km from the main promenade of Taurito beach. This is a wide paved area where you'll find a range of shops, bars and restaurants, as well as the hotel's own beachside bar. There's also a supermarket where you can find holiday essentials. Behind the beach in the middle of the valley is the Lago Taurito Water Park, which has a selection of slides and pools. The harbour of Puerto de Mogan lies 5km to the west of the hotel. Here, you'll find another sandy beach that's set in a sheltered bay, as well as a busy marina with a selection of restaurants. There's also a shopping mall at Puerto de Mog·n, along with other attractions, including submarine tours you can take around the bay. For a day trip, you could also visit the island's capital city, Las Palmas.
The hotel has a buffet restaurant that looks out onto the sea. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided here. Soft, alcoholic and hot drinks are available at the hotel beach club throughout the day, as well as in the bar until late in the evening.
Children between 5 and 12 years old can make new friends and join in the fun activities at the hotel's kids' club.
Rooms at Mogan Princess come with air conditioning, a TV with satellite channels and a fridge. There's also a safe for your valuables.

Fun Filled Family Holiday
We had a fantastic time, what a beautiful hotel in such a scenic area. The hotel is nestled into the side of the mountains with stunning views of the sea and surrounding areas. Despite being uphill, there are plenty of lifts to use. The lifts do play up often but there are always others to use and get fixed swiftly by the hotel maintainance team. We arrived late and the management had been kind enough to save us each a cold meal in the restaurant before checking in to our rooms. We were 4 adults and 1 infant. We had two rooms next to each other. The rooms were cleaned every day and it was so nice to always come back to clean sheets (if you didn’t want this service you could put a do not disturb sign on the door). We went for the standard all inclusive which had more than enough drinks for us. It included 3 decent cocktails, all the local spirits, wine, sangria, soft drinks. Rooms had a mini fridge, had to buy own bottled water which was very cheap from the on site shop. There is water on tap with the all inclusive so you can just refill your bottles there. Food was lovely, always lots of choices. Breakfast was our favourite. The snack bar was great if you didn’t fancy getting dry from the pool to go eat. Pizza, burgers, hot dogs, salad, fries, pasta, fruit and ice cream. Pool bar was great too and pool side entertainment such as the water aerobics were great fun. People were reserving loungers from 8am which isn’t allowed but wasn’t always reinforced. I saw staff moving the towels on 2 occasions but sometimes people were ‘allowed’ to reserve them which was annoying. The adult pool had awesome views and was nice when you didn’t fancy being splashed by the kids, very tranquil up there and had a lifeguard there throughout. Entertainment in the show bar was great and a good variety, we especially enjoyed bingo, karaoke and the magic shows. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, always happy to help us book a taxi to explore different areas. We made use of the free shuttle bus down to the beach and water park and it was a great day out. The beach has water sports. The beach club was great as you can use your all inclusive for drinks and food when spending the day at the beach. We went to porto rico for a dolphin spotting boat trip it was amazing but we did get quite sea sick so avoid if you have a sensitive stomach. Highly recommend Angry Bird Land for people with children. Foam party, splash park, etc. Not expensive either. All in all a great time had by all and we will most definitely be back! Thank you to all staff
An honest review
The best thing about this hotel is the staff. All were friendly and helpful from Reception, bar staff, restaurant staff and cleaners, Chris the animation guy was great and Pedro the bar man too. Thanks. There was always a good choice of food and the local alcoholic drinks were fine. The views are wonderful from most places. The Mogan port is very pretty with nice places to eat. Now the 'not so good stuff'.............I would not recommend All inclusive here as the best place to eat and drink is the Port area. The layout is very complicated. once you learn it you will realise everything is far away(depending on what block/rooms you are in), some days we could just not get a sun lounger and had to sit at poolside tables and chairs, there are spare loungers stacked up but literally no where to put them without blocking footpaths. You can go up to the adult pool up 3 floors but you have to come all the way back down for toilets and the bar(there is soft drinks up there). The family pool is very loud with music playing loudly all day til 6pm. I'm sorry but the beach is just horrible, grey sand covered in cigarette butts. not a very clean area down below hotel. Dated rooms but clean enough. Personally I didn't like that you had to choose a time slot for your evening meals?? never know when you will feel hungry? (7 til 8, 8 til 9, or 9 til 10)
Avoid
Things were going well on our 4 night stay until our door would not open. The light was not coming on the door when we presented the key. We knew straight away this was a door issue. We went to reception and they gave us a new key and said try again. Guess what, the door still would not open. We went back to reception who said maintenance would be with us soon. I said to the receptionist I wasn't overally pleased and his response was 'it happens, you can't make a complaint yet'. Maintainence came and broke the door so we can get in. We cannot lock the door. They wanted us to wait in the next day to get the door fixed, then they said we could just leave it. I do not feel safe leaving my door unlocked. This is not acceptable.
