Best time to visit: October to May is the most comfortable (and driest) time to visit.

At the centre of the Sunshine State, the weather in Lake Buena Vista is glorious. Don’t  forget your hat and sun cream if you’re coming during the summer months. Try to take a break during the middle of the day when the sun is at its hottest.


GETTING AROUND

By shuttle bus: If you’re staying on site at Walt Disney World Resort, you’ll have complimentary shuttle busess to the parks. Lots of other hotels offer a similar service, so check before you book if you’d rather not drive.

By trolley: Home to Universal Orlando®, International Drive is one of Orlando’s main centres outside Lake Buena Vista. The I-Ride Trolley provides a simple route between its parks, restaurants and shops.

By car: Florida’s roads are easy to navigate, whether you want to get to the theme parks or further afield. The east coast beaches, Kennedy Space Center and countless other attractions are within an hour and a half’s drive.


EVENTS

Toast marshmallows: Head to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground for the charming Chip ‘N Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long, complete with a classic Disney film under the stars.

Dance the night away: The dancefloors at BET Soundstage Club in Pleasure Island heave to the latest in hip-hop and R&B, with top live acts. The BET cable channel broadcasts live from here a few nights a week, so you could be on telly.

Disney festivals: Walt Disney World Resort holds major events year-round, including the Epcot International Flower & Garden festival (March-May), Epcot International Food & Wine Festival (September) and an extravaganza of Christmas celebrations.
