BEST HOLIDAY WE EVER TOOK
We were on holiday In Cyprus with our Son, Daughter-in-law, Granddaughters aged 11 and 5. Everything about the Hotel was perfect - the service from staff, quality of food - usually we are sick of the food after a few days - but this was brilliant from the start to the very last day. Rooms were comfortable and cleaned regularly. Effective air conditioning, (important as the temp was about 32 Degrees), the two swimming pools were like paradise (one with a bar where we could sit in the water & drink our all-inclusive wine, beer, whiskey, water etc., the other with a small water slide & bridge) - the children loved every minute. Wonderful areas of sunbeds, by the pool, on cooler grassy areas, and on the clean sandy beach. Free canoeing, Pedalos, tennis, Gym, Jacuzzi, everything was superb.
We were treated like valuable customers by the staff at all times, any issues we had were resolved quickly and sympathetically.

Deluded on the word 'luxury'
We were extremely disappointed in the St Raphael because instead of a modern, luxury hotel that its website boasts, we found a very dated 80s hotel in need of some upgrading. The 'recently refurbished rooms' roughly translates as new laminate floor, curtains and 2 chairs - all the other furniture is the original from when it was built nearly 30 years ago.
The staff are the hotel's finest feature whilst the food, sunloungers and reception furniture all vary from the mediocre to the dire. The much bragged about marina is private and not open to non-members so is not part of the hotel. The indoor pool and jacuzzi are always filled with children playing noisily so best avoided. Late check out will cost a lot but will not include food or drink, entitlement to them stops at 1430 no matter what time you check out.
On the plus side the hotel and grounds are kept clean and well maintained and the rooms are all spotlessly clean.
Our recommendation - go somewhere else!

Family Summer Holiday in Cyprus
We stayed at the St Raphael in Limaasol on al All Inclusive basis. This hotel is supposed to be a 5 Star but but is looking a little bit tired in places so I would give it 4.5. Saying that, we had a lovely stay and we will go again as it suits us just wanting to relax drink and eat when we want to. The staff are excellent and the food is very good with plenty of choice. The hotel is at the very end of Limasol and I mean virtually on it's own with very few bars or nightlife in the vacinity. You have to get a bus or taxi into Limasol if that's what you want. All very relaxed in the hotel, no AI bracelets, the staff seem to trust everyone. AI is Ultra All inclusive so you can have virtually anything apart from imported Whisky/Brandy. Even the Smirnoff was on AI and the bar staff do not cheat on the amount of alchohol they poor in your glass as the drinks were strong. The pool bar is nice; there are a lot of Russians who all congregate arround that pool (even those with the kids) as they sit around the bar drinking. You get used to them pretty quickly and they do not bother you. We sat around the kids pool which was quieter. There is food available all the time and there is the Splash bar where you can also get fresh salads and hot food avaialble 12-6PM. Food is freshly cooked in front of you. There is also a small bar to get your drinks. Lovely Beach bar again with food available at lunchtime. AI guests can take out Kayaks, windsurfers and basic paddle boats at no extra costs. There are plenty of other watersports available at extra cost provided by a local company. There are plenty of Sun beds around both outdoor pools, large grassed area and on the beach itself. Towels are provided for AI guests and there are saunas, spas, good gym, tennis courts, hairdresser, massage etc. Evening entertainment appeared to be aimed at the Russians. If you like Dance and Magic then that's fine. It only lasts about 40 minutes with the obligatory kids disco and dance starting at 8.45 PM. Captains bar is great with a sea view balcony overlooking the Marina. Free safe in all rooms. Yes, we will go again.

Excellent for a relaxing break
I travel alone quite frequently and thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the St Rapahel. It provides the ideal location for a relaxing break with views over the marina and extensive grounds to find a quiet spot. There was a broad mix of nationalities at the hotel, but none seemed to overshadow the others.
The staff are extremely friendly and cannot do enough to help you. In particular the staff at the Captains Rest Terrace bar deserve a mention. But every encounter with the staff from housekeeping, reception and restaurants was positive.
Food was excellent and for days out, the hotel provided a packed lunch for me. Snacks are available at various times throughout the day, with a nice selection of cakes available for an afternoon treat ! I felt compelled to try out all the options available as it was so irresistible, gained 8lbs but it was worth it! I particularly enjoyed the Meze at the Phonecian Cypriot Restaurant only problem (if you can call it that) was there was so much, I could not eat it all - despite my best efforts!
The hotel is a popular venue for weddings, but it does not seem to inconvenience other holidaymakers and provides a welcome distraction for sunbathers.
I only went to see one show at the amphitheatre so cannot really comment about the shows, but every night there was a singer/pianist in the terrace bar, most people tended to go there but I suppose for families the shows are more popular.
In all, I enjoyed the laid back, home from home atmosphere, excellent service and food. I would definitely return in the future.

St Rahael is a great hotel, staff are exceptional, left my bag in the room with passports tickets money etc was on the bus to go to the airport bellboy ran out to catch us just as we were about to leave so grateful to them pool staff beach staff all really pleasant. Evening staff on the terrace wonderful. our room overlooked the marina it was beautiful and immaculate. food in the restaurant of a night time at bit hectic, however we usually sit outside to eat but you cannot do this here. We are very lucky to be able to go on holiday 3 - 4 times a year and this is a place i would return to again.
