It was my 1st time in Turkey and the area of Icemeler was very picturesque. We walked to the little harbour at the end of the bay only takes 10 mins, and there are lots of cafe bars and restaurants to choose from. The local market is held there only a 15 mins walk easy to find. We walkes to marmaris which took us about 40mins alond the path that runs parellal to the beach, You also pass a Dolphin Centre.
The boat trip to the Mud Baths was an experience bit of fun. You are on and of the boat all day and we also seen a sea turtle. There is also a local ferry which we took to marmaris which takes about 20 mins.
The hotel is in a very good location, you have tea and coffee facillities in your room, but they do not replace the items so we had it the 1st night. The food was tasty not a lot of variety depending on what you expect from a holiday, one week was enough you would have been bored with it if you were all inclusive for two weeks. There wasn't a lot of entertainment only a few nights a week. This is more of a quiet relaxing sort of holiday away from the hussle and bussle of everyday life, more for re-charging your batteries. There are plenty of shops near by for browsing, We wasn't hassled only a few try to entice you in.
Only thing i would reconsider is the journey from the airport i would go by taxi not bus, the journey was about 2 hrs, with a 20 mins stop off.

Hotel standard spoilt our holiday
We love the resort but was very disappointed on the hotel there is no way that this hotel could be rated a four star as was advertised in your brochure, when we complained to the Thomas cook rep Carolyne she informed us that it was only a 3star we would never have booked this if we had known.the hotel was L'etoile.

Great location ,great weather, very poor hotel .air con dosent work and you cant leave door open because of mosquitos, very tired and dated looking throught the hotel and urgently needs updating. the bathroom had cracked tiles and a painted bath which was flaking off . Rreception ,corridors, and dining areas all looking scruffy ,people expect and can get far more for their money and im suprised Thomas Cook put their name to this hotel

Another great holiday in Icmeler
This is the 2nd year we have stayed at L'Etoile Hotel. We have been visiting Icmeler almost every year since 1997 and love the resort. Hotel is godd value staying AI although we did not think what was on offer on hot buffet at dinner was as good as last year. Lunch and breakfast excellent, did not try barbecue at pool in the afernoons but it seemed to be popular so assumed it was good. Ate out a couple of nights at our favourite restuarant, The Waterfall, highly recommended. Have already booked to go back next year but are planning to eat out afew more nights. Poolside loungers and mattresses could do with upgrading and some of the towels supplied for pool are threadbare. Daytime activities we would happily do without as we just want to chill out. Evening entertainment is very poor(only lasted about 20 mins!) and this year was followed every night by bingo - not what we go on holiday for!

icmeler is a lovely place to visit just dont stay at this hotel.the staff are ok, but need some customer training. there is only 1 resturant u have to pay for the 1 at the beach front. there is no entertainment apart from a guy playing a keyboard , same music every nite, think he only knows a few tunes.get down early for ur sunbed 5am there all gone by 8am. I,ve been to Turkey 5 yrs in a row and this was the worst hotel we went to.it takes nearly 3hrs to get to this hotel by bus.

super location,excelent resort
l'Etoile is a clean, basic all inclusive, the staff are frendly and well mannered (unlike most of the foreign guests).the location is perfect, on the beach and in the middle of resort.the only down side is the entertainment ,the chap in charge has no idea how to entertain, and has the most anoying voice.food was always good but a little samey'.drinks in the evening weren't the best ,they seem too turn the cooler off on the beer pumps so it tastes pretty rank.

Good, but could be so much better.
Good value for money when we booked. Price has increased since and would not be worth it. Good location on the beach and central. Staff generally friendly. I thought the food was fine for all inclusive, again it always gets repetative if you eat the same each night.Food did get sparce towards end of dining times. Restaurant staff efficient. Air conditioning limited hours so was really hot in the in bedrooms in morning. Our problem was sunbeds, not enough for hotel and needed to get up before 7 to get one. Beach was usually a much better option. Watersports seemed good value. Entertainment/activities during day was very poor. We like activites during the day and this was limited to darts, killer pool and waterpolo, no pool games. Animation team not very welcoming/friendly or motivated and quite often guests started up their own activities. Waterpolo did disturb sunbathers, but my family love it. Evening entertainment was worse but we went out most nights.Have never been to a hotel that expects guests to tip 'acts' which you can see for free in all the bars. Bar staff friendly but only one at night so have to queue. I would only go back if price reduced again.
