Excellent holiday for familys We stayed here from 21st July 2014 for 11 nights, 2 adults and 2 children ages 6 and 8, all inclusive, best holiday we have had, food was fab and so much choice, hotels entertainment was excellent, something different every night, The Lion King was amazing, not even a 5 min walk to marina which has loads of restaurant's and bars, the beach is lovely, perfect size, apartments are basic but who care's as you only sleep there, air con was great, snack bar is open from 10am till 6 I think, food from 11 till 1, which as hamburger, hot dog, cheese and ham tostie, chip and cake, ice cream in little tubs are available all day, you can have lunch in the restaurant from 1 till 3pm, loads of choice again, dinner is 6.30 till 9.30. We ate out one night in the marina, 84 euros for 4 of us, but have to say wouldn't do it again as the food was so good at the Marinda Gardens, cocktails are included with all inclusive. If you book with Thomas Cook you get free entry into the water park next door which the kids loved. We are hoping to return next year August 3, 2014
Great All Inclusive with friends and family Our party was 6 adults and 5 children from 18mnths to 5yrs. The holiday was great. Kids loved the pools, water park next door was perfect. Food was varied and plenty of choice. Entertainment was brilliant, team of 6 and they worked so hard morning till night. Thomas Cook have a kids club, which we didn't need to use, but they were lovely too. Only grumble would be dated, dark rooms. Served their purpose for sleeping and washing in, but could do with being updated. 5 min walk to marina which had loads of shops, bars and restaurants. Another 5 min walk to the beach. All Inclusive options by the pool had timed slots and certain options, anything excluded from options were half price. Choices suited us and the on site shop had great variety of food, gifts, toys etc Lovely place, lovely people, lovely holiday :-) July 27, 2014
Good family holiday had a lovely family holiday at the Marinda Gardens, asked for a 1st floor room in advance (e-mailed the Hotel ourselves) and had a great vie of the entertainment area near the reception.the rooms get a lot of bad reviews on here but i think they must be refurbishing them because there is not a single thing i could moan about(room 2105). the food is really nice with a great selection from fish, pork, veal, chicken, beef, paella all with different sauces/variations every day.breakfast is the usual Bacon, eggs, etc, but with lots of fresh fruit, breads etc..6 different fruit juices as well as tea, coffee, hot chocolate and water too. pool areas are spacious and plenty of sunbeds, could maybe do with a few more parasols but never had an issue getting one. Access to the water park is via a track behind the volleyball court,a nice wee short cut that only takes a couple of mins to get there.inside the slides are ideal for kids up to around 13-14,they arent massive but still great fun.lots of 1 and 2 people inflate-able rings for the yellow and black slides, wave pool is on for 5-10 minutes an hour..lockers are 3euros plus 2 e deposit and sunbeds are 3 euros.we just went in our swim gear and flip flops and left the shoes at the side of the pool and no-one bothered. The go-cart track is right next to the Aquapark and we went twice, they have double carts for adults and kids as well as kid carts and full size carts.you get a discount if there is 5 or more in your party,a highly enjoyable thing for us all. The only thing that lets the whole holiday down is the evening entertainment,1 night we had a parrot how for 30 minutes, the other nights the entertainment crew put things together,Rock of Ages was good but the other shows were cringeworthy, the Hotel need to look at this because i would seriously consider not going again because 10.30pm finishes to poor shows is a big let down, dont get me wrong its not the entertainment guys fault, they work really long hard hours but they have next to nothing to work with. overall friendly pleasant and hassle free sums this holiday up June 26, 2014
couldn't ask for anything more, perfect! This hotel is set out like a village, small blocks. On site is a 2 level pool - 1 level is the deeper pool and the other is shallow and fab for children. Also a small kids pool, only as deep as to your knee. Large self service restaurant. Poolside bar, evening bar by the entertainment area. Entertainment all day at various times for adults and kids (kids games, t-shirt painting, volleyball, water dancing etc) from the hotels own team. Also kids clubs for thomas cook guests on site. Evening entertainment by the hotel team is outstanding....superb!! Rooms are big enough, comfortably got us all in (2 adults, 2 kids). We were all inclusive, food is all self service. Very good choice, something for everyone. We love this hotel, just returned from a 10 night stay and will book again soon for another holiday there! June 9, 2014
Great location, worth a visit to Marina Stayed at Marinda Gardens from 16th-23rd May 2014. Reception, dining room and all main areas are well kept, clean and tidy, however the apartments are in urgent need of complete renovation. They are very tired and dated, in our bathroom there was no window or ventilation fan, hence it got very steamed up, also everytime we showered the whole bathroom flooded. In the kitchen area, the electrical sockets were broken and alarmingly, when the air con was on a slug came out of it and landed on my head!!!! Funny to read but cannot be good for health. The kettle was broken but to be fair was replaced immediately so could not fault that. The bedding was ill fitting and mattresses - well it was like just lying in springs, no padding left on them. On positive note, plenty fresh towels provided daily. Animation team all excellent, 10/10 for their enthusiasm and effort, they really worked hard. Reception staff were lovely but staff serving in bars and restaurant were not chatty, usually just good morning/evening and that was about it, some more interaction would have been nice. Location is perfect, few mins walk to lovely marina with bars and restaurants, shops and entertainment. Few mins in opposite direction goes to the lighthouse which is now a restaurant and worth a look. All in all the main let down is the rooms and that in itself would stop us rebooking until renovated. Fantastic value for money! We stayed here from 2/08/13 for 1week, probably one of the busiest weeks for any hotel and had, overall, a fantastic family holiday- despite many 'tripadvisor' comments leading us to believe we were in for a rubbish time. Having spent the best part of £2000 a year to holiday for a week in the UK in recent years #£900 for a small, self catering cottage in August, 3 tanks of diesel, food, drinks, restuarants/pubs, entertaining the kids and pouring rain!#, the £2350 we spent for a family of 4 at Marinda Gardens represented fantastic value for money. The food was freshly cooked in front of you, and included quality fish such as sea bass/bream, tuna, swordfish, mackerel to name but a few. Not to mention the fresh meats, including veal, steak, pork escalopes, lamb chops, etc., once again cooked in front of your own eyes. There were various stews, roast joints of meat, cold meats, cheeses, breads, along with a massive selection of fresh salads and vegetables and other options to suit all tastes- including the obligatory burgers, pizzas, nuggets for the youngsters and those with limited taste/taste buds. There was something different every night. As for the queues, it never took us more than 3or4mins to reach the front, even at the busiest times- you'd be hard pressed to beat that in Macdonalds! All of the staff were courteous at all times, and when we did suggest that the air-conditioning didn't seem to be working as well as it had been. we were told that a couple of the units at the refrigeration plant weren't working and were currently being repaired. Even so, the maintenance guy called round within 10mins to make sure there wasn't a problem within our apartment. I quite agree with previous comments that the apartments could do with freshening up, but ours was perfectly adequate and clean, with good maid service and clean towels 5 out of the 7 days we were there. I did notice that the canvass on some of the older sun loungers could benefit from a quick blast with a pressure washer, but apart from that, the pool area was clean and tidy, with staff frequently clearing up and emptying the bins. The entertainment staff were the hardest working bunch of people you will ever meet- on the go all day. The evening entertainment may have fallen below West End standards, but the kids loved it, and you'd be hard pressed to give them anything less than 100% for effort and enthusiasm! Our children made good use of the aquapark next door, and for 3euros for a sunbed and parasol, us adults found it offered plenty of space when the hotel pool area was busy, and you felt the need to escape the very small minority of kids who, in my opinion, were more in need of better parental supervision than they were a lifeguard! Although this is the sort of holiday we steered clear of before we had children, we had a wonderful time and would definitely be happy to return/recommend to freinds. Happy kids, happy parents, happy holiday! Marinda Gardens is well situated for the beach and marina #10mins easy walking# and easily punches above it's 3star rating! August 15, 2013
great holiday for families We have just come back from staying here the room for a family of 4 was way to small but at the end of the day we just needed a bed. The food wasvexellent great choice, water park was amazing makesure you get your wrist bands for free entry they tried to charge me!!! Not much to do as in days out so luckly there was the water park. We did go on a boat trip which was ok.the town is only 10 min walknot much there shopping wise just bars and restuarants.on the whole had a grwat holiday I think I way over paid after speaking to other families who got it dirt cheap all inclysive leaving it 2 weeks before so ill bedoing that next year!!! Everybody is friendly lovley place would go back would recommend!! July 31, 2013
really good holiday in cala'n bosch this holiday would suit young or mature couples or families with young children. The reviews I read before we went made me feel a bit sceptical ( dirty appts & ants), however we didn't see 1 ant in our appt' 1504 & maids were very thorough We stayed in the Marinda Gardens, 5 min walk to centre of cala'n bosch & added bonus of free entry to aquapark next door. We were self catering & although the utensils left a lot to be desired, they proved to be adequate. June 13, 2013
