Located in a quiet spot to the north of Costa Adeje, the 4 star Bahia Principe Sunlight sits on a vantage point overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Within the hotel grounds lush gardens surround three outdoor pools. You may choose to relax in the spa or on a poolside terrace with an ice cold drink. In the evening treat your ears to some live Canarian music, dance at the disco or enjoy a pint in the bar while watching the football.
At the Mirador restaurant a delicious international buffet is available, offering a wide selection of dishes to satisfy everyone’s taste buds. Prefer lunch or dinner on the outdoor terrace? El Puertito is the place for you. If you want to change out of your T-shirt and shorts to something smart, there’s a selection of four a la cartes to choose from. Maybe you’ll go for traditional Italian, Tex Mex or pan-Asian. Last but not least there’s a Steakhouse, where freshly grilled succulent meats are paired with fine wines. Just remember to reserve a table in advance. As part of the All Inclusive package, you can enjoy dinner at three of the a la cartes during a week’s stay.
Standard rooms are equipped with either twin beds or a king size bed. They all have a balcony or terrace, bath and ceiling fan. Junior Suites have space to sleep three adults and one child (or two of each). Upgrading doesn’t just get you a separate living area, you’ll also benefit from a hydromassage bathtub.
If you wish to go off exploring, Bahia Principe Sunlight offers a bike hire service. Costa Adeje’s bustling promenade area is packed with bars and restaurants. Shopaholics can head to one of two malls or the twice-weekly market, where you can pick up clothes and souvenirs. Golfers will be pleased to know the nearest course is just 3.5km away, while children won’t want to miss the popular Thai-themed water park (11km away).
Tenerife’s biggest attraction (literally) is Mount Teide with a summit of 3,750m. Here you can see Paisaje Lunar, a structure formed by volcanic activity. As the name suggests it looks like something that wouldn’t look out of place on the moon. The mountain is one of the best spots in the world for stargazing, so if you want to see the Great Bear or Orion, you couldn’t be better placed.
