Holiday with family for birthday
Did not see any Thomas Cook staff all holiday. Staff in hotel could not speak good English. Rang t.c. Office for information about area and trips was told they would be faxed through and put through our door. Still waiting? Think your customer service was rubbish. Just glad we did not have an emergency. Why were we not told when getting dropped off that no rep visits? More customer service training needed. Or was it because we were not staying in a big posh hotel like most of the other people on the bus.

Basic Budget Apartments
Montemar was simple enough and perfect for Budget holidays, although overall we enjoyed the holiday there were as expected a few faults.
The traffic noise was unbelievable, we stayed for 2 weeks and every night cars playing loud music roamed the streets. Many of the other people staying in the apartments were disrespectful by partying into the night which also made a difficult nights sleep.
Not much for children to do although the pool was great and you can easily go on trips. Tricky to find good bars/restaurants in the area. Would recommend to people if they could put up with lack of sleep, good value for money.

summer holiday 2011
The location was ok was near to night life, however if you had problems sleeping then this was not the place to stop as on the main road and lots of buses passed quite a lot and people coming home in the early hours of the morning shouting and was very noisy at times. We stayed for 2 weeks and only had our beds changed once and only had clean towels twice. The cleaner was mopping the tiled stairway with no cleaning signs out and my daughter slipped down 4 of the steps and really hurt herself lucky it was on the last day of our holiday. When we got home my daughter had to go to the doctors and has bruising to back and lower bottom and is taking pain killers regularly, this could have been more serious. I would like to no where the signs were to warn you of a wet floor!! The poolside bar and food was all pack away after the first day of us being their and a notice being put up saying it was closed, but details in brochure states pool side bar and food. Overall very disappointing holiday.

Good Holiday spoiled by other guests
The Montemar apartments are basic but clean. Some of the fixtures and fittings need renewing, IE huge hole in bedroom door after some drunken fracas no doubt.
Nice pool area and staff are very friendy, unfortunately the type of people that seem to have been put in this property by Thomas Cook leave alot to be desired.
It was like holidaying in the local zoos Gibbon house at times, especially 4.30am.
Stern words had to be exchanged about the noise and foul language on several occasions. There were other guests that also found this intollerable but seemed scared to open their mouths, unlike me.
One Spanish family with a baby I felt particularly sorry for.
If you want a 'decent' accomodation with reasonable guests , best stay at Vista Flor for example.

Great holiday shame about the accommodation
Do not book the Montemar if you want value for money on your holiday. The standard of these apartments is poor and it is all down to the fact that the rooms simply haven't been maintained. The location is good unless you are a light sleeper and get disturbed by the sound of buses early in the morning. Great seaview and pool area but sadly the complex is spoilt by the fact that as items have been broken and damaged in the rooms nothing has been done to sort them out. There is exposed electrical wiring, broken door handles, missing shelving, mould on the bathroom walls and very oddly located plug sockets that resulted in us using the toaster on the kitchen floor. The self catering equipment was missing bowls, glasses etc so four people shared three bowls for breakfast! There was a nice new flatscreen TV in the room but no English channels - they should have spent the money doing some repairs instead!
