Could not fault Pajara Beach hotel in any way. The hotel floor numbers can be confusing but other than that all facilities were excellent. Staff were always friendly
and helpful. All areas were clean and well cared for. Food was of excellent quality with plenty of choice. Evening entertainment was varied ,some good acts some mediocre. Not a lot to do in Costa Calma but we hired a car and saw most of the island. Only possible down-side was the fact we never met our rep , we collected our hire car on arrival at the airport so didn't travel on the transfer coach so didn't receive any information about welcome meeting etc. No effort was made to contact us at the hotel .

Hotel very clean, staff very helpful . The food is very good with plenty of choice for everyone. It was about half full we we went no problems with queues. not enoug
h sunbeds all taken by 8.00am didnt worry us as we went to the beach. Beaches very good if turn right not crowded at all . Quite a few naturists but plenty of room for all to enjoy the beach. Hotel was mainly german but we have found from previous experiance its normally a good standard of hotel. It is on the edge of Costa Calma which is a quiet area which suited us. Would certainally recommend the hotel and will visit again.

We arrived at the Pajara beach very tired from a long days travel to discover that there were no rooms at the Inn!!!!!!!! The hotel had overbooked and we and several
other English parties were the victims! We were ushered up a corner out of the way and told to wait not knowing why, another countries contingency arrived AFTER us (work that one out for yourself) and were promptly booked into their rooms! We were then taken by taxi to another so called 4 star hotel for two nights which was appaulling! When we eventually went back to Pajara beach it was a good standard of hotel in an excellent position but we did feel a little outnumbered! Abi the Thomas Cook Rep was the saving grace here because of how nice she was, we were given a couple of free daytrips but it hardly makes up for the upset caused to my holiday booked might i add a full 12 months prior to departure which i payed full wack for!

This was my first visit to Fuerteventura and i also took this holiday as a single traveller. The main objectives, being some relaxation, sunshine and a nice hotel. I
think these objectives were pretty much achieved.
I've always believed the more holidays you go on and the more detsinations you travel to the pickier you get and you compare resorts & Hotels with others. R2 Pajara beach was a lovely hotel, it ticked the boxes and i had an enjoyable stay. If i had to pick any negatives then they would only be small things; the Hotel needs more sunbeds around the pool area for the number of guests in the hotel and some need replacing as were looking a little tired. Those little extras like a mini bar in the rooms and a safety deposit box in the room would have been nice, although they were there you couldnt use unless you went to reception and paid addtional money to use them at which point you would then have your mini bar filled and a code given for you safety deposit box. i have always been use to just having these as part of my package.
All in all though, the hotel was very clean, friendly and food was nice. Lovely pool & beach was great although i didnt really get to appeciate the beach to much as it was to windy!
This hotel has prodominetly german guests, although i had no problem with this the staff at the hotel did speak German before they would English, so it did feel they were catered for first and us brits second. I didnt have an issue with this but some people may do.
A lovely holiday, in a lovely hotel, with lots of sunshine (though a little too windy for me!)
Would i recommend? Yes i guess i would - if you just want a break away from every day life and like to take it easy then this will suit you. :)

not all inclusive and not set up for all-inclusive guests. We returned later the same day and asked to see original hotel room we were shown sub standard room in poor position,we called the hotels bluff and accepted the room. We had to return to rio calma for one night and then checked into pajara beach hotel. Throughout all this and for the rest of the 14 days we did not see or receive contact from the thomas cook rep.Even on departure the driver of the pick up bus had no details of the manchester passengers and only picked us up after requests made direct to his good nature we arrived on time but again without any assistance from thomas cook rep

On 2nd March my partner and I arrived at our Hotel accomadation the Parajara Beach Hotel only to be told, in a very off hand manner, that Thomas Cook had double book
ed our accomodation and that our room would not be available for two days. To overcome this double booking Pajara Beach Hotel reception informed us that alternative accomodation had been arranged by them in another Hotel a short taxi ride away and that after two days we would be moved back to the Pajara Beach Hotel for the remainder of our holiday.
My partner and I explained that as our holiday was only for 7 days the loss of a compleat day being moved from one Hotel to another was totaly unacceptable and very upsetting. After all who evers fault this bungled booking was it was not ours. We had put our faith in Thomas Cooks promises and therefore expected them to sort this problem out. We then asked to speak to the Thomas Cook representative but this was not possible as there was not one in the Hotel.
We were left to negotiate this bungled booking on our own. Eventualy, after a considerable, period of time, the Hotel eventualy offered us a room but took great pains to explain that it was not the sea view room that we should have had and that it was on the service side of the Hotel. Thankfull that our holiday would not be spoilt by further Hotel transfers we reluctantly accepted the accomodation offered.
When we eventually met the Thoma Cook rep.( Jason Killer) we complained about this booking error but got little sympathy. We filled in a complaint form and when we returned home I wrote a complaint letter to Thomas Cook but as of todays date 29/03/2011 have had no reply. I/We feel totaly let down by Thomas Cook.

Nice Clean and comfortable hotel and very helpful and friendly Spanish Staff.
The main problem we encountered was the attitude of the German guests, which form the m
ajority of guests here. A smile and nod from us was answered with backs being turned, deliberately having doors slammed in our faces, and a refusal to wait while an English person was served.
The food was edible, but was suited to the german taste rather than European, there was no food available after 11pm, and as the Hotel was miles away from shops and restaurants, this could be a problem to some guests.
Overall, the hotel is lovely, with the hotel shops selling most basic stuff, except for essentials such as aspirin, antiseptic etc, so take plenty of essentials with you.
Also, take plenty of Euros, because the nearest cashpoint is quite a way away.
Please note Thomas Cook, taking showers in the Hotel is risky for older guests, because of the slippery surface of the bath, and lack of safety rail to hold whilst showering.
This Hotel is NOT child friendly, there is very little for them to do, apart from a small playroom, that might suit a small child, but remember that most of the few children there wont speak English.
The Hotel Spa, Sauna and Gym was excellent, and access for disabled is very good, apart from the beach bar that has a metal strip along the doors and no ramp.
The gardens are really pretty, but even though the rooms boast sea views, you would have to stand on the roof for a good view, it is obscured.
The chipmunks on the beach are really tame, and very appealing, but beware, a lot of holidaymakers like to sunbathe and walk along the beach totally naked, most being middle aged or elderly, this might not be suitable for children.
Mosquitos are a major problem on the island and we were all bitten badly, we might have been better prepared.
The highlight of our holiday was our Thomas Cook rep, Jason Killer, a super friendly and helpful young man, who constantly went out of his way to help 5* there!
This holiday would be perfect for an active couple in their 60s, who enjoy peace and quiet and walking!

s. a bit isolated, no night-life nearby but hotel bar and entertainment were good and since we were AI no need to go out looking for bars etc. lovely beaches both sides of hotel (nudist but so what?). this was our 3rd visit and we will probably go again. would not really suit people with walking difficulties as access to beach was down rocky/ sandy path. not many children there when we went.

After getting to understand the unusual layout of the hotel, we found the all inclusive facilities very good. Food was of good quality and wide choice, lounges and s
eating ares plentiful and even had its own theatre. Entertainment was reasonable for the most part too. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Not too many Brits here but a good multi national mix, perhaps with more German. Needless to say despite the best efforts of the hotel the obligatory reserving of sun beds was a bit of a problem, but manageable without the need to be up with towel at sunrise. Various walks out, and excursions available if required. The hotel is about an hour from the airport so you get a feel for the landscape on the transfer. Would we go back - Yes.

We have been to the Island many times and have stayed in 5 different hotels over the years..in 2010 we stayed in Costa Calma at the least enjoyable and we had visite
d the Pajara Beach on a few occasions to give it the once over. We liked what we saw and decided to go this year for our dose of winter sunshine. Journey from Gatwick was very smooth and as we had checked in on line and reserved our seats we were impressed with the whole journey. The hotel was excellent and the staff were most helpful. Plenty of "chill-out" areas to have a quiet read but plenty of entertainment if you wanted it. Our only criticism concerns the horrendous procedures at the homeward bound airport...the queues were horrendous and surely there must be a much better way of managing the large numbers who were waiting to check in for their return flight. Parents with young childre, elderly passengers all kept waiting and when a rep decided to re arrange the queues he disregarded those who had been waiting for ages and brought people from the back of one of the queues to a newly opened check-in desk. However,we are determined that next year,2012,we will take the same holiday and we are already looking forward to it. Thank you, Thomas Cook.

We booked to stay all inclusive at the pajara beach but got an upgrade to the Rio Clama which allowed us to use both hotels so as we stayed as a party of four for tw

Plus points was the Thomas cook rep Kelly who went out of her way to look after us and we never saw her with a long face which kept the holiday ticking along nicely

We went to Paraja Beach for a rest, and that is exactly what we got! Set beside a beautiful beach (tho you have to try to ignore the old wrinklies showing off their
bits in certain areas)!!
The hotel itself was superb! Staff excellent, always ready with a smile and nothing was too much trouble! Even though on an all inclusive package, it was never a problem to get a round of drinks if you were in company, a pleasant surprise compared to some other all inclusive hotels I have been to.
The entertainment was pretty good, with magicians, acrobats etc, well worth taking the hour to go along to watch!
Food was excellent, with lots of choice to suit every palate.
I will definately return to this hotel for another relaxing holiday!

Hotel is huge and caters for everything. We asked for a sea view room on 2nd floor and the hotel obliged. Normally British passengers are subjugated to the lower lev
el floors and the 'better located rooms are reserved for the German holiday makers. Hotel staff very helpful and the food was varied and plenty of it. We never had a problem finding a table. We were a bit disappointed with the Thomas Cook rep she was very pleasant at the meet and greet but we never saw her again. We wanted to book a trip and after visiting her desk a couple of times and then leaving a note on her desk for 2 days we eventually sought the help of the hotel reception who phoned Thomas Cook for us. All was well in the end. The hotel is in a quiet area hence the reason why the hotel caters for all needs. There arent any nearby pubs or nightlife. The hotel has a small beach. Ideal for a quite and relaxing holiday. We enjoyed it!

If you want a holiday that does not involve traipsing around a busy (and loud) town then this is the place for you as there is not a great deal there. To be honest t
hough there is absolutely no need to leave the hotel as it has everything you could possibly need anyway. The food is 'above average' but the menu has a fairly Teutonic feel as does the hotel. German tourists account for approximately 95% of the clientel but this was not an issue as they are on holiday as well!!!
The cocktails are quite dangerous, and the measures are 'Spanish Standard' i.e. a single measure there would equate to about 8 x in the UK.
Overall 9 out of 10, pools a bit chilly.

My husband & I stayed here for Christmas & New Year & what a wonderful time we had. It's a little way out of town, but most all inclusive hotels are, but there are s
hops you can go to within walking distance. For anyone wanting to visit the weekly market be warned that it's easily a 45 min walk!!!
The rooms & all the communal areas were spotlessly clean, the staff were very nice & always made a point of being friendly towards you. The way the floor levels are set out can be a little confusing at first but it's easy enough to work out once you get your bearings.
There were plenty of sunbeds to choose from & your towels etc didn't get thrown off your bed if you left it unattended. While we were there lots of beds were left with towels & books on while people went for a swim or went for lunch.
The food was very enjoyable & a lot of attention to detail was made to the food provided for Christmas Day & New Years Eve.
There was a really nice atmosphere to this hotel & I would most certainly recommend it to a friend, As so many reviewers have said before me, the English are in the minority, but my husband & I didn't see that as a bad thing, everyone was there for the same thing & that was to have a nice relaxing winter break.
To anyone thinking of booking a holiday to this hotel, I'd say book it, you won't be disappointed.
I have only one negative thing to say about our holiday & that was the return journey home. At the airport it was like a cattle market, Thomas Cook had five flights leaving within a couple of hours of each other, which made check in a nightmare!! The queues where the length of the airport and when you finally got to the check in desk the process was very slow, it took two hours for us to get checked in.. A number of holiday makers where starting to become very irate, which was understandable, yet the Thomas Cook reps didn't care and were really unhelpful and one male rep was very rude to one gentleman who was complaining.

The Holiday was good, the weather was great ,the hotel was clean and tidy. The food was excellent. The drinks were on occasions a wee bit iffy, very obviously the ch
eapest of the cheap. The room we were in was a bit basic and the tv only had 2 English speaking channels...BBC World and a Holiday channel of all things. There was a fridge, which was handy and there is a hairdryer but its a rubbish one. The entertainment put on was pretty average aswell but all very light hearted and watchable with a few drinks in hand. The pool area is good but the pool itself was freezing cold way colder than the sea which was very pleasant to swim in. That brings me on to the beaches close to the hotel.....They are a haven for nudist German and Spanish pensioners. Everywhere we looked and tried not to look there was a naked person. This was the main let down of the holiday. The hotel is surrounded by "playa natural" Obviously we did not know about this until we went for a walk along the beach on our second day. You get used to it but it really is a major factor if you want to spend anytime at the beach. So over all we would recommend the hotel itself but the beach issues really mean we would not go back.

Lovely Hotel. Nice Staff and Food. Not enough sunbeds is my only complaint
Date of review:1 Nov 2010
We arrived at the hotel at about midnight on a Saturday due to the flight being delayed ( this was after Thomas Cook changed the departure times) so we had effective
ly lost a days holiday and were sent to the restaurant for a snack which was great, just what we needed after a long days travelling.
We then went back to reception for our room keys, We were given a room on the 9Th floor which is the ground floor in this hotel, we were a bit disappointed as we wanted a sea view, However of we went to the room and found the lift wasn't working!!!
Any we eventually got to the room and looked out of the french windows, what a disappointment all we could see was a tree about three feet away and a 20 foot tall brick wall. I went back to reception and told them I wanted another room and was told I had to meet with the manager the next day.
We did eventually get a room change on the Tuesday .
The hotel is very nice and looks fantastic, the all inclusive drinks are basic and finish at 23:00. There are several bars to choose from. none of them outstanding.
Evening entertainment was on the whole quite good with quite a few different shows all lasting 40 minutes.
The hotel is very much geared towards Germans and they are definitely favoured above everyone else. All the staff speak German and Spanish but very few speak English. All the shops in the town also cater mostly for Germans.
The Rooms are basic with plenty of Wardrobe space and ours was kept very clean by our maid, you could tell when she had a couple of days off as the room wasn't cleaned well at all.
Bathrooms were good, big and roomy, with good showers that worked!
Beds were the hardest beds we have ever slept in, with not enough pillows.
The breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice, however the lunches and evening meals were a bit repetitive with pork being the meat of choice with the chef, (I think that's all he could cook)!
There was a BBQ night, Chinese night and an Italian night to vary things a bit.
Swimming pools were great nice and cool when you have been baking in the sun.
The pool bar had plenty of cool drinks and snacks all day long.
The beaches and sea were lovely with oap nudists everywhere(quite amusing, why do the hide behind towels to get dressed :-) )
If you get a dull day go the the local Zoo there is a free bus from the hotel every day and its well worth a visit.
Absolutely nothing to do outwith the hotel, the town is a good 15 minutes walk and there nothing there when you get there!
Overall we had an enjoyable holiday lying in the sun and reading and drinking, If you want to do more than that I would suggest you go somewhere else.

We went to the Pajara beach for a week of winter sun and rest. The Pajara beach had this in plenty.
When we arrived we were allocated a room facing a wall and a tree
. I immediately went to reception were they told me they could change us but it could take a few days. Later that day a note went under our door saying that we could move the next day. The view from our new room was wonderful. The view from the Pajara beach is breath-taking. Make sure to ask for a view.
The food was great but the food offered in the beach bar was very basic, even for a snack bar. We only used these facilities for beverages.
Sunbeds around the pool need a massive upgrade, but there was always enough to go around. There was also some lovely spots to sit in the shade and read. The pools were wonderful but very cold. The aqua gym was very fun and we did this every day we were there.
There are shops in the hotel, but they are expensive.
We would love to go back to the Pajara Beach as it was quiet, out of the way and just the holiday we needed.

We arrived late at our hotel to find that they had given us a private buffet for just the few delayed on our flight. This set the precedence for the holiday - lovely
food - so much choice, lovely hotel with fabulous views over the palm trees to the sea. Pretty beach with chipmunks for entertainment. The pool was very clean, easy access to bars dotted around the hotel for drinks, icecream, buffets - everyone catered for all day. Lovely evenings with very acceptable entertainment. Huge corridors in a large hotel which gave a feeling of privacy but huge glass windows which made the view accessible everywhere. You can sip a coffee on the little outside bar area while reading the paper or sip a glass of cava with iced orange which is extremely addictive by the pool. Very cosmopolitan hotel but everyone ready to enjoy themselves and relax. Lovely to see so many european children getting along with the universal holiday attitude to enjoying the hotel's facilities. My sons and husband made use of the gym and long walks along a beautiful piece of coastland was magical. Have always avoided big hotels but have been very pleasantly surpised. Extremely affable and competent staff. The hydrobox bath in our family room was the epitome of luxury in a huge bathroom and extremely pleasant room made fantastic by our corner position of the hotel with huge balcony and very special aspect of the sea view. Jump on the bus to the little market it's well worth a look - bus pick-up right at the hotel door.

If you like pork for dinner then this is the place to go, 5 nights out of 7 is a bit too much for me though. BBQ night is a very poor effort, drumsticks, spare ribs,
and paella and thats your lot apart from salad and veg. The hotel is woefully short of seating in the bar , and the sight of people sitting around on walls waiting for seats is not what i have come to expect from a 4 star hotel. The same seating is in a poor state of repair , most also have cushions missing.
The room was very good though, as were the pool areas and reception .
Towels are in short supply for both rooms and pool , we had to wait til following afternoon for pool towels.
Dont expect bottled water as you will only get one small bottle each on arrival in your room. the common practice was for people to queue up in the restaurant at the water stations refilling their bottles , so if you want waer with your meal be prepared to wait.
Breakfast was fine unless you want coffee, only two very slow coffee machines with large queues of people forming at them. I gave up after waiting 15 minutes and had tea for the rest of the holiday

The hotel itself was lovely, clean and tidy with rooms being changed everyday. Staff were friendly although unable to speak much english! This is very muh a German b
ased hotel and not somewhere i'd reccommend for anyone who is english, apart from us 2, there were about 6 other english people in the whole hotel! Also although we selected the All inclusive package, this DOES NOT INCLUDE DRINKS! which we thought was disgusting considering there was no other option apart from all inclusive, and you would expect drinks to be included! also the hotel was miles from any town, the so called closest town was a couple of miles away and consisted of about 4 shops, 1 bar (again catered for the Germans) and a spanish restaurant, that was it!!!
I would definately not reccomend this hotel to any friends and do not think thomas cook should be advertising this hotel the way they are! very misleading!!!

Me and my husband have just returned from R2 Pajara Beach.
After a horrible holiday last year (our 1st experience of AI )we were a little aprehensive but there was n
o need. The hotel was lovely and clean, the maid came in every day.
The beds seemed a bit hard at first but they were really comfortable.
Our room was on 9th floor (which was actually the ground floor) as the floor numbers are upside down! I don't think we ever got to grips with it but it made a bit of fun for us. The room was quite big with a view out to sea beyond the tennis court.
The food was lovely with plenty to choose from, the only down side was on BBQ nights my hubby didn't have much to choose from as he has a stomach problem and doesn't enjoy a lot of foods but I had no problem as I will eat most things, I particularly enjoyed The Paella and fish especially the fresh prawns! The choice of drinks was unbelievable. The daytime entertainment seemed quite varied even though we didn't join in and a night we saw some really good shows especially the magic man and the animation teams shows, Kylie has a fantastic voice and I'm sure she is destined for bigger things. We loved the walk down to the beach and seeing the chipmunks on the footpath. My hubby doesn't usually bother about the beach but he said he wished we had gone down there more than we did. There are quite a lot of nudists on a particular part of the beach but you get used to them after a while!
We had a day out to Oasis park which is only a short ride away on a free coach which picks up at the hotel, it costs 18 euros per adult with the option of a camel ride for 10 euros but its a great experience and the views are beautiful.
All in all we had a great holiday and we will go back again.

This was our second visit to the Pajara Beach and it was just as good as the first time.
The hotel is situated on the outskirts of the quiet resort Costa Calma so i
f you are looking for a lively resort with lots to do - this isn't it. However if you want a nice relaxing break in a resort that has stunning scenery and great beaches then look no futher.
The hotel itself is fantastic. The staff at the hotel work tirelessly to keep it spotlessly clean and always with a smile on their face. The rooms in the hotel are well furnished and the beds are large and really comfortable. The bathrooms have bath and shower and there is always an abundance of hot water.
The pool area is fantastic and looks out over the ocean. The pools are kept a spotless and if you have the energy there is daily water aerobics for the adults and various water games for the children. There is also a pool bar where you can get drinks and snacks all day long.
The restuarant at the hotel serves excellent food which should satisfy even the most picky of eaters. At breakfast as well as bacon, eggs (done in a variey of ways) and sausage there is the usual cereals, fruit, pastries and an excellent selection of bread. Lunch and dinner are superb with great selection of meat and fish accompanied by vegetables and salads. Oh, and the deserts are to die for!
Entertainment on an evening can be anything you want. There is a quiet bar or you can visit the show area upstairs where they have a different entertainer on every night.
All in all the Pajara Beach is a great hotel and well worth a visit.

Most enjoyable stay, extremely good value for money and .look forward to returing in the future and its not often we would return to a hotel think we have only retun
ed once in the last 10 years I guess that says it all would recommend it without any doubt.

I travelled alone to the Pajara Beach Hotel in the Costa Calma region of Fuerteventura looking for some Winter Sunshine and I was not disappointed. The hotel was stu
nning with lovely views over the sea from my room. Although the website had said all rooms had a sea view, they do not, however I was fortunate.
The food was pleasant and varied, with a good selection from the buffet at every meal, plus snacks throughout the day at the pool bar.
It was a little bit of a trek down to the beach which was fine for me, but proved a little problematic for those will less mobility. Although the sights once you did get down there was eye-opening due to the beach being entirely open to nudist. Cheeky!

Having booked my holiday on the spur of the moment back in August as a treat to myself for my Birthday this would be the first overseas holiday my husband and I had
spent together with no friends, family or children.
I could not have made a better choice. Thomas Cook made things so easy for us as first time travellers. We had a fantastic time in a brilliant resort. Predominantly German holiday makers, who love to walk around the beaches naked!!, but this did not retract in anyway from the best possilbe place to get away from it all and relax.
Plenty of food of all varieties, friendly staff and a spotlessly clean hotel.
lovely surprise in my hotel room for my birthday, my own cake and a bottle of bubbly
Brilliant Thomas Cook Thank you.

Went away with our friends in November 2008 for a week in the sun and we weren't dissapointed.
The hotel was fab, weather perfect, and so much choice of food you jus
t didn't know what to have.
The staff were great and the hotel facilities were very good. We go abroad 3 or 4 times each year and this was one of the best holidays to date. Only drawback were masses of nude Germans on the beach but after a few days you didn't even notice them!
