Great hotel for families
I dont normally write reviews but i felt i had to
First of all the only thing i would complain about was that the rooms have no Air con-but you can hire a fan as we did.
The food was a ok not a huge selection but enough otherwise you would come back twice the size you went!
Hotel staff could not do enough for you!
The pools were great and even at 8am you could still get sunbeds round the pool een when people were up before the sun reserving their beds and not coming to the pool till after dinner.
The entertainment on a night wasnt the best but wasnt the worst ive ever seen and my two kids loved the minu disco and the kidsrep's disco!
I am looking into returning to this hotel again next year as i was really impressed.

Great Hotel for a break!
My fiancé and I just wanted to get away for a well earned break and decided to go to The Grand Oasis. This hotel is amazing it is far enough away from the main stripe to allow you to get a decent sleep. Its great because you always have the option to jump on the free bus and go into town or to the water parks etc and it will arrange a time to come back to pick you up. The food was great, the entertainment was great and the staff are very helpful. I will be returning next time I want a nice break in the sun.

Great family holiday
My family of 5 spent 7 nights at the gran oasis at the end of July 2013 as part of a larger family group of 13 and it was simply great!
I write this review from our point of view, whilst I can't speak for the rest of the group I know we all had a good time.
The flight to Tenerife passed without a glitch, however the return was 45 mins late departing and the ground staff at Tenerife had forgotten to refill the water so there were no hot drinks or running water in the toilets which was a let down. We did make up most of the time due to strong tail winds.
We stayed in one of the spacious 2 bed apartments which had views over the complex and the surrounding hills, the resort of Playa de las Americas and out to sea, in the distance you could even see the island of La Gomera. The apartment was big enough for us all and was clean, tidy and well equipped, the shower in the en suite was really good. I was a little worried that the lack of air con would be a problem in the 30 degree heat but the ceiling fans and gentle breeze were more than enough for a cool nights sleep. We didn't use the roof top solarium much but the views from up there were great. We were missing a kettle but that was soon sorted by the very very helpful staff.
The complex itself was clean tidy and spacious, the pools were good fun for the kids, even though we were there in the first week of the school hols there was still plenty of swimming space to be had! The kids activities were varied, ours didn't do many of them but when they did the organisers were friendly and reassuring, making us feel confident to leave our girls with them for a couple of hours. Evening entertainment was so so, but that didn't bother us too much as the kids made friends and we could sit and chill with a few drinks. Couple of very minor gripes..... There was a little bit of a sun bed war to begin with but as the staff got wind of this they started imposing a 'not before 8.30 rule' and locked the beds up so everyone got a reasonable chance of getting a bed, I found it amusing more than annoying! The courtesy bus to the beach could do to be a bit more regular, its a fair trek to the beach and shops but as it was only €4 in a taxi to get back it wasn't too bad.
Food choice was excellent, our kids found something they liked from the adult selection every mealtime, what the staff described as the kids choice was a bit poor, nuggets, chips etc but as ours enjoyed pasta, rice, meat, salad etc from the main selection it wasn't a problem. Each evening was themed, Chinese, Italian, international, the best was the Mexican! I particularly liked the paella and our favourite dessert was the caseo - we want the recipe!
I would highly recommend the gran oasis, the staff were very helpful, courteous and welcoming I'd go so far as to say they were the best I've come across anywhere!

Good Overall Holiday Experience
We have just returned from the Gran Oasis Resort in Playe de Las Americas, Tenerife. The complex is very good with easy access to the pool and bar. We stayed on an All-Inclusive basis. The food was good and varied but the one complaint we had throughout the week was that the food was simply not hot enough. In fact, it was on occassion, barely warm.
This did not distract what was for us a very relaxing and pleasant stay in Tenerife.

Suitable for all types of groups
This was our first all inclusive holiday and it wont be our last. Great hotel, Golf Garden Apartments, Las Americas, Tenerife, although a bit out of town. Taxis were available from the bottom of the road - but watch as they will take you the longest way possible to any destination and charge accordingly!! We were interested in the golf which was only a 10 - 15 minute walk which was not too strenuous. Good selction of food and drink available although with a few children running about it did lead to the odd accident or two. Entertainment was good especially for the kids we saw there. Evening entertainment was varied and of a good standard.
