lovely hotel and a great holiday!
When we arrived at the hotel at 10Pm we were greeted by friendly staffand was offered sandwiches and drinks at the bar which was unexpected and we were very greatfull. The resort itself is amazing, a wide range of food, clean facilities, doting staff and a lovely family atmosphere. There was great entertainment for little ones and my two teen girls werent bored as there was an area where most of the teenagers hung out and was totally safe. The only bad points about this resorts that some put there towels on the sunbed before 8am and left them there empty for the rest of the day and it was very hard to get a sunlounger. Anothet bad point was that the wifi was terrible and only managed to pick it up once the whole week. However the whole family loved the resort and we would love to come back here again

Lovely place but poor service
This is a lovely apartment complex with a range of facilities and good amenities within the apartment. There are however several points which let it down.
-There was no room safe, this was instead in a room off reception. This in itself wasn't too bad except that the box was so small I couldn't fit my camera in it so had to make sure I took it everywhere with me. This is a bit of a cheek when it cost us over 30 euros for two weeks.
-We hoped that being away from the resort centre would mean the place would be quiet at night. As it was in apartment 62 on the corner we had a set of stairs and ramps outside our apartment and could hear everyone coming and going. But we also had to endure poor quality cabaret every night until 11:30, which was loud even with all doors and windows shut.
-Apartment cleanliness was poor. When we arrived it was very dusty and didn't improve much over the stay. We also discovered two ants nests in the apartment, one in the kitchen which we dealt with, and one in the bedroom on the last day. When I told reception about this they asked me if I had been keeping chocolate in the bedroom!
As we stayed self-catering we didn't try the restaurant, but after reading several bad reviews about the food I'm glad we didn't. If the resort significantly improved the cleanliness in the apartments and had better and more varied evening entertainment then it would be a nice place to stay but until then we won't be going back.

Great holiday at Gran Oasis in Tenerife
This complex is fantastic. When we arrived at 10pm we were provided with sandwiches, tea and coffee making facilities, water and milk. This was totally unexpected and very much appreciated. The reception staff are second to none and nothing was to much trouble for them. They made a great holiday even better. We have stayed here before and will certainly stay here again.

Great Hotel for a break!
My fiancé and I just wanted to get away for a well earned break and decided to go to The Grand Oasis. This hotel is amazing it is far enough away from the main stripe to allow you to get a decent sleep. Its great because you always have the option to jump on the free bus and go into town or to the water parks etc and it will arrange a time to come back to pick you up. The food was great, the entertainment was great and the staff are very helpful. I will be returning next time I want a nice break in the sun.

Great family holiday
My family of 5 spent 7 nights at the gran oasis at the end of July 2013 as part of a larger family group of 13 and it was simply great!
I write this review from our point of view, whilst I can't speak for the rest of the group I know we all had a good time.
The flight to Tenerife passed without a glitch, however the return was 45 mins late departing and the ground staff at Tenerife had forgotten to refill the water so there were no hot drinks or running water in the toilets which was a let down. We did make up most of the time due to strong tail winds.
We stayed in one of the spacious 2 bed apartments which had views over the complex and the surrounding hills, the resort of Playa de las Americas and out to sea, in the distance you could even see the island of La Gomera. The apartment was big enough for us all and was clean, tidy and well equipped, the shower in the en suite was really good. I was a little worried that the lack of air con would be a problem in the 30 degree heat but the ceiling fans and gentle breeze were more than enough for a cool nights sleep. We didn't use the roof top solarium much but the views from up there were great. We were missing a kettle but that was soon sorted by the very very helpful staff.
The complex itself was clean tidy and spacious, the pools were good fun for the kids, even though we were there in the first week of the school hols there was still plenty of swimming space to be had! The kids activities were varied, ours didn't do many of them but when they did the organisers were friendly and reassuring, making us feel confident to leave our girls with them for a couple of hours. Evening entertainment was so so, but that didn't bother us too much as the kids made friends and we could sit and chill with a few drinks. Couple of very minor gripes..... There was a little bit of a sun bed war to begin with but as the staff got wind of this they started imposing a 'not before 8.30 rule' and locked the beds up so everyone got a reasonable chance of getting a bed, I found it amusing more than annoying! The courtesy bus to the beach could do to be a bit more regular, its a fair trek to the beach and shops but as it was only €4 in a taxi to get back it wasn't too bad.
Food choice was excellent, our kids found something they liked from the adult selection every mealtime, what the staff described as the kids choice was a bit poor, nuggets, chips etc but as ours enjoyed pasta, rice, meat, salad etc from the main selection it wasn't a problem. Each evening was themed, Chinese, Italian, international, the best was the Mexican! I particularly liked the paella and our favourite dessert was the caseo - we want the recipe!
I would highly recommend the gran oasis, the staff were very helpful, courteous and welcoming I'd go so far as to say they were the best I've come across anywhere!
