Nice time away, it was ok.
We went as a family on 2 nd Jan this year as had an awful year and needed to get away. The complex was quite small but ok, the bungalows were fine, beds comfortable, didn't need air con so couldn't comment on that. We were quite lucky with the weather it was nice and warm just chilly in the eve. The kids liked the sister hotel water park but we went on a cloudy day and was a bit cold! The pools were freezing and I didn't get in at all all week! The food was ok. But just ok. The choice for kids was disappointing and my little one, although a bit fussy lived on chips and ice cream all week! Found a shop in playa blanca which was very cheap and bought some bits like Heinz tomato soup which I gave her before we went for dinner so I knew she had eaten something. The girls loved the mini disco and the entertainment was quite good. They went to the kids club too which they enjoyed. I would imagine when it's high season it would be a bit manic. Overall we did enjoy our break and would go back but please improve the kids choice of food!

Good central located hotel
WE had a good holiday it was in a good location as it was not far to walk to shops. We stayed with someone with a wheelchair it was not to bad until the lift broke down they did not seem to be in any hurry to fix it. The food was good it seemed to be the same each week but there was enough to eat, it was a bit short of choice at lunch time, but you just made sure you had a good breakfast so you were not to hungry at lunch time. Animation did a good job. Pools could have been a bit warmer All the staff were superb very helpful. You had to pay for Internet, which was not always the best.

Excellent family holiday at Playa Blanca
All I can say is wow!!! Spent an amazing week at the hotel Club Playa Blanca in Lanzarote. From start to finish we had a fabulous time. Plenty for all the family to do including tennis courts, 2 full sized swimming pools and a splash pool for toddlers, access to the Waterpark at its sister hotel which is only a 5 minute work round the corner, a wide selection of food for breakfast including full English items, fresh fruit, continental items and fresh bread & croissants with cakes and pancakes. Lunch/dinner served both in the restaurant and poolside if you're spending the afternoon in the sun by the pools. Evening meals that cater for all with various themed nights featuring various cultures including Spanish, Chinese, Italian, Mexican and many more to cater for all. Desserts also included gateaus, cakes, fancies, ice-cream and angel delight for the kids. There was also a wide range of self service drinks including lager, wines, fizzy drinks, tea & coffee including cappucino's & Latte's and Champagne at breakfast!
The staff and entertainment team are all very friendly and polite and very helpful. Entertainment at night includes disco's, bingo and quiz nights, as well as live bands/acts, even animal/reptile shows! Plenty for all the family to enjoy and plenty of beer, wines, spirits, sangria and cocktails in the all inclusive package.
The apartments are clean and housekeeping attend daily or as required to change towels and make beds, beds are quite comfortable and rooms are spacious and air conditioned. There are fridges, kettles and microwaves also but as you're all inclusive you don't really have a need for them. Hotel does have wi-fi at a cost of 20 euros for a week.
There is a free bus service which runs to the sister hotel Paradise island and down to the beach (which is only a 20 minute walk away) and various excursions you can book through the rep or the hotel reception where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery, visit the volcanoes where they have a restaurant at the top and actually cook food on one! You can even take a ride on a camel!!
All in all I can not find fault with this resort and will definitely be booking again for next year.
One thing I will add though if you're booking child places and you require in-flight meals, make sure you specify you need CHILDRENS meals for your children, otherwise they will get adult meals!

Had a great time at Club Playa Blanca, Lanzarote.
After having travelled on the 2nd Jan - 9th Jan 2014 from Bristol to stay at Club Playa Blanca in Lanzarote with my parents and boyfriend. Our reason for going away was to completely "chill out" and get over our very busy Christmas period and celebrate my fathers birthday.
On arrival at the hotel: The reception area was very clean and tidy, the staff were lovely and very helpful. Our apartment was not ready - however, this was not really an issue for us (we left at 5am to get to Bristol, so arrived with empty stomaches), we were told to go and help ourselves to food in the restaurant and make ourselves comfortable. After having spent time travelling, BUT all I wanted to do was get into our apartment and rest my legs. (My legs have metal pins in them and they were beginning to ache and hurt).
The FOOD (most important when all-inclusive): I can honestly say, the food was great, I am extremely difficult when it comes to eating, the range was huge, always had something for everyone and OMG their puddings, was absolutely fantastic and the staff were forever rotating their dishes which was a bonus. I very much enjoyed most of their meat dishes and enjoyed foods, which I had never had before. (I came back and had put on a little weight haha) HOWEVER, we did have one accasion where the sausages were placed on the BBQ, which were cooked on the outside, but raw in the middle. Other customers and the staff were aware of this and the sausages got removed. BUT - one day out of 7 days was fine. (IT happens) There was food outside in the seating area, which was also very nice, especially if you missed the opening times of the restaurant. The ladies running the bar area outside were very polite and kept their areas clean and tidy, quick service, they also had help yourself to the fizzy, which was a bonus.
The Location: I had to research for the perfect holiday "very carefully" before booking my hotel, as my legs do not allow me to walk very far. We had a very short walk to the shops and the hotel provided a free bus to and from the beach, which was perfect. We did walk into town a few times to buy bottles of water (IT was cleaper in town, than the hotel). A huge range of shops, where I did actually spend quite abit of money (lol).
Our Apartment: It had a kettle, sofa (sits 3 people, but I hogged it for most of the week lol), tv, beds, coffee table and also a table and chairs for outside. What more could you ask for? It was lovely and clean, the bathroom was "squeaky clean" and the cleaners were in and out cleaning apartments every single day. I did move my bed as I do not like sleeping against the wall, ONLY to find loads of ants running up and down my wall, some were dead and not sure how long they had been there. THIS I really didnt like, went straight upto the reception, who came to my apartment with some lovely smelling spray to sort out the problem. PROBLEM SOLVED.
Paradise Island (sister hotel): If I had booked this hotel, I would have been very annoyed. We did visit there on one accasion to check out the waterpark, we found it very disturbing, extremely loud music, they had ran out of gas, so no drinks were available and it was very far too busy for my liking. We looked around for about 30 minutes and I got fed up. I can honestly say, Club Playa Banca, was quite peaceful, which was what we wanted.
Our Pool: Our pool was lovely and clean but very cold, you did soon warm up though. At one point, me and my party had the whole pool to ourselves.
- I did find some of the OTHER CUSTOMERS were sometimes quite disturbing, they seemed to just randomly chuck rubbish, why I dont know, there was bins scattered all over the place. It really did make the hotel look quite tatty. Im guessing they didnt have much respect for the hotel.
- Entertainment, we didnt really go for that, but we did visit the bar a few times and had a few drinks to celebrate my fathers birthday.
- Tennis courts. I can't play tennis, but I did have lots of fun trying. Haha.
I have been on the Thomas Cook website a few times this week to revisit this hotel. REMEMBER, you get what you pay for and for me, it was worth every penny.
