had 11 wonderful days at club playa blanca. there was a party of 8 of us in all. ranging between 14yrs and 50yrs of age, a mixture of family and friends. thomas cook
looked after us all the way. the hotel was spotless. the staff helpful and friendly. the food was excellent, catering for all tastes. with ample choice. the town was 10minutes walk from the hotel and easy to get to. the town is lovely with restaurants all along the promenade and some smashing bars. we found an irish bar with live music every night, great fun had by all and noone wanted to come home. have all said we will go there again next year.
the bar is free until 11pm and then you have to pay for your drinks. which did mean a lot of people retired for the night after that, which meant the night ended early, but plenty of bars in the town to carry on until 1am or longer.

Overall a very good holiday a few negative points were on arrival at Lanzarote airport the Thomas Cook staff struggled to organise everybody onto the appropriate tra
nsport . It was also very poor on our departure and we struggled to make our flight. This in my opinion needs to be rectified . Some of the Thomas Cook staff at the airport were not very pleasant and others appeared reluctant to help .
The resort was very good and We also enjoyed the accommodation, The food was good and the staff were very pleasant and helpful.
The entertainment which was provided in the evenings was of poor quality but I believe this was down to some kind of industrial dispute

This place is superb. The food was great, the staff were very friendly and helpful and although the location is about 800 yards from the town and could be awkward fo
r some people for us it was great. A bus runs to the beach several times a day and a taxi costs between 2.50 & 3 euros each way into the town. The new manager spoke to us whilst we were there and there are some things he is not happy with so expect it to get even better. The only reason I have marked the self catering so low is that you get a fridge and a kettle and that is it but when you are all inclusive who needs more. A lovely place to visit and I recommend it to everyone.

The flight and holiday all booked on line was excellent. Old mother seventy two, inhaler and all Struggled up the aircraft stairs. Her seat was right next to the doo
r what a releif ie no far to walk. The same at the hotel reception desk, our rooms were only round the corner at reception room 206. The hotel was Sun Tropical, Playa Blanca, Lanzarote. With Ten swimming pools and a small indoor shop, but adequate. The staff were all very helpfull. Food very good. The only thing that irritated me was the escalator at glasgow airport turned off at 0105 am arrival and old mother had to walk miles of corridors to get luggage and stand queing at Passport Control. But it was worth it. Thomas Cook staff and flight crew were Very good. Arrangements they made were excellent. ITS probably mothers last holiday ie her age but maybe not. As long as she takes her antiobiotics with Her. The year before the return flight aircraft was cold. And mother took phneumonia at home. The company went bust.bye xxx

We were a bit dubious, as the others reviews said the resort was not suitable as on a hill. There was no hill, however it is about 20-30 minutes from the beach. Ther
e was a bit of hassle with Thomas Cook when arrived at the airport in Arricife, the Thomas Cook reps didn't seem to know what they were doing. The resort itself is about an hour away from the airport. When we arrived at Club Playa Blanca we were greeted by freindly and professional staff, the reception area itself was clean and tidy. The food was exceptional, with plenty of chioce. Fresh salads every day. Entertainment wasn't for us, we much prefered to walk down to the seafront for a walk and a shop. Playa Blanca itself had a nice clean beach, with plenty of shops to peruse around and plenty of good fish restaurants. The pool on the resort wasn't a very private one, you were very much on display. Accomodation was good, clean, air-con a bit noisey. Was very quiet, no trouble from other holiday makers at night or day. On the whole excellent holiday. Would love to go back to Club Playa Blanca one day.

We nearly didn't book having read some of the previous reviews - thank god we didn't listen to the whingers who go on an All Inclusive only to sit and moan about the
food and the slippery tiles !!!
The staff were very hard working and tried to cater for different nationalities and tastes with the food. The whole family found the food to be more than adequate and there was ALWAYS a varied choice where all appetites were satisfied.
Yes, you had to queue to get food from the Buffet, but it was worth the wait - If you want waiter service then don't go an an All Inclusive !
The beer and wine were fine and we really felt relaxed and catered for.
The pool was great and the entertainments team worked tirelessly to provide a break from lying in the sun - Evening entertainment was not up to much, but not through lack of effort.
Yes the tiles were slippery and you had to be careful (that tends to happen when they get wet !) but, hey, the beach has stones and shells and even coral - surprised that no-one has moaned about that !
All in all we had a great time and really appreciated the effort put in by the staff - maybe it is not quite a 4 star hotel, but they get that rating from us in terms of their hard work

The chefs used the cooking utensils to clean up the food dropped on the floor and then carried on cooking!!!!! WITH THE SAME UTENSILS!
The chefs used a towel to wip

Long hairs found in the pasta
All the display counters was covered in old food droppings
Around the pool bins overflowed throughout the day
My 17 year old daughter paid for a full paying adult and had to sleep on a camp bed
On a good note the entertainment staff was very good

First visit to Lanzarote, had researched online for accommodation and chose PLAYA BLANCA HOTEL because of the excellent reviews, and i certiantly wasn't disappointed
, the chalets were fabulous, quiet, private, spotlessly clean, spacious, and everything we needed available. We chose to go all-inclusive (our first time to do so) and would highly recommend it, we had our two teenagers with us and it can get rather expensive to eat out, however the variety in the restaurant, and poolside snack bar was amazing, we never once left the complex to eat elsewhere. Sunbeds also were never a problem, no matter which time of the day we went down to the poolside. The staff in the hotel were generally friendly, and the thomas cook reps provided great entertainment for the teeneys n teens during the day, and were very friendly, we like quiet a quiet hol and didnt use the evening entertainment so can't comment, all in all an excellent holiday and would definitely return to this resort in the future, thankyou Thomas Cook for another great hol!!!! :)

st was the same everyday but lunch and dinner was different every night. the entertainment staff were brilliant always friendly and upbeat and always tried to involve everyone their own shows were good especially the grease night! theres a lot for the kids a pool table, swimming pool, air hockey table, kids club and also a new playstation 3 reasonably cheap to use. the only downside are the beds which are quite hard so i reccomend putting sofa cushions underneath and also the cockroaches on the path at night. the bungalows are quite spacious which is ideal. all in all the location resort an beach are great and i'd definatly reccommend it to famiiles whith younger children we'd definatly visit again

Just came back from a week stay in this hotel rooms were great they are bungalows we got a 2 bedroom which has a fridge and microwave very spacious hairdryer in bath
room and air con. Food was great snacks round the pool 1230 - 430 burgers hot dogs chips ect, you just helped youself to the drinks you just pulled your own larger and soft drinks which was great the only complaint we had was they were short staffed and quiet a few ppl made complaints sometimes you were waiting for a drink has the bar staff were working both bars and were sometimes on they own this also happened in the restaraunt and tables werent cleared although the staff were very friendly and would try and help when they could we all felt this was down to management by the end of the week they were training more staff. The entertainment was great for kids they had a lot of activities and some good entertainment on a night 4 adults. The town is about a ten min walk which we did everyday they is pubs and bars they. we went on a boat trip to fuerteventura for the day which cost £20 euros we booked it ourselves which was cheaper has some were askin £37 euros we went at 12 and came back at 430 it was lovely. This was a last min holiday with thomas cook with the family and only cost us £260 all inclusive the weather was great and we all really enjoyed it the gounds on this complex are really stunning just be carefull on a night has it is not very well lit up and the pathways are quite narrow but over all a great place

booked this accommodation as late deal having already been to playa blanca some years age and was pleased with the changes to the resort, lots of opportunities to wa
lk (or amble)without going same road everytime. the hotel was very nice with only a few gripes, the service in the hotel during the day was very good but at night it became an achievement to get a drink (alcohol or soft) as there was only 1 member of staff between 2 bars but after some complaints this increased to 2 staff.and the crockery was very much in need of replacing, lots of chipped and dirty dishes put back out for clients to use(definately not good management) overall we had the relaxing holiday we were looking for and would recommend this holiday but only if something can be done about the service

THE TWO THINGS WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE AT THIS RESORT IS A SHALLOW POOL FOR THE YOUNGER CHILDREN AND THE FOOD IN THE DINNING ROOM I/E MAIN MEALS NEED TO BE BETTER .
Date of review:1 Apr 2011
The resort of Playa Blanca is lovely. There is a nice promenade to walk along with plently of shops and bars. Club Playa Blanca is on the outskirts of Playa Blanca,
about 15 minutes walk downhill to the sea. So ofcourse its uphill coming back. Not recommended for anyone with any wailking difficulties.
All of the staff at Club Playa Blanca are fantastc and the grounds are beautifully kept. Other than that I dont have anything good to say about it. The food is absolutely disgusting and every meal is like a bun fight. Everyone is pushing and shoving to get to the food and drinks. I cant imagine why, as my family had difficulty finding anything decent to eat. The semi detached bungalows, while being spacious, have paper thin walls. You could hear everything the people next door were doing. And I really mean EVERYTHING. The maids came 3 times while we were there and not once was the floor swept or mopped. They did change the beds and the towels though. The pool area is very pretty with lots of sunbeds. But if you dont get your towel on your bed by 8am then dont expect get one for the rest of the day. We didnt manage to get one for the entire week. My one last winge was the amount of room we had on the plane. I am only just over five feet tall and I was squashed in like a sardine. You can imagine how my six foot tall husband felt. While the resort is well worth the visit the accomodation certainly is not.

Excellent location about 10 minutes from beach, supermarket on site but a HyperDino Supermarket about 5 minutes away. Accomodation was excellent, very clean (cleaned
every other day). Spacious accomodation with coffee maker, a microwave which doubled as a normal convection oven and 2 hobs.
Three outdoor pools (not heated) one of which was infants only, plenty of sunbeds with a outdoor jacuzzi. Tennis / 5-a-side football courts, table tennis table and kids play area. Indoor pool and gym.
Didnt use the on-site catering facilities as we ate out in Playa Blanca every night.
Playa Blanca night life is very relaxed centred around the seafront restaurants so no noisy disco bars perfect for a family holiday (no groups on a pub crawl).
Playa Blanca daytime is similarily relaxed with a beautiful beach area safe for kids.

This was my first all inclusive holiday and was a little apprehensive having heard stories about limits to what you can have and when. However, I was really impresse
d with what we received. The food was lovely. A really good choice on offer every day, definately something for everyone.
The staff were hard-working, friendly and very helpful and knowledgable. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We arrived at the accommodation at about 11pm and they had a plate of food saved for us for when we arrived which was a lovely surprise and went down a treat!
The accommodation was comfortable, very spacious and clean. The facilities were good. Nice swimming pool and bar area and the entertainment team were hard working and fun. Some of the evening entertainment was a bit cheesey but there is another place you can sit and enjoy a drink and Spanish TV!
Club Playa Blanca is situated more on the outskirts of the resort but is just a short walk from the shops and beach. A shuttle bus is provided if you can't manage the walk. It's position also means that it is nice and quiet.
Our rep was also very friendly, helpful and interested in everyone as individuals.
All in all I have to say this was one of the best holidays I've ever been on and would definately recommend it and we will be going back.

The hotel offers good value for money for what we paid. Dont expect to pay 3* prices and get 5 star facilities.
Short transfer from the hotel only 25 mins - however
on the return flight it took 90 mins due to so many pick up around playa blanca.
For one week this hotel was what we wanted - relaxing and hassle free. The majority of guests were 50+ perhaps due to the time of year.
The hotel has just invested in new sunbeds with cusioned matresses and there is never a shortage of space.
The rooms were lovely and very quiet and the housekeeping service was excellent. We had a micro wave and a fridge which you dont often get in an all inclusive. If you want to watch TV there is only BBC world which loops the same stories all day!
The choice of food was adequate for what we paid. However after eating breakfast lunch and dinner in the same restaurant day after day can become tedious and we ended up eating out in Playa Blanca one evening for a change of scenery.
The entertainment was very poor - animal shows almost every night. We didnt choose the hotel for the entertainment and it didnt worry us. However it was slightly cringeworthy seeing an empty entertainment venue when you have your main act performing on stage - surely this would send messages to the hotel manager that the acts he is paying are not suitable for the international clientele??
The complex is at the back end of playa blanca with a 10 minute walk along to the start of the main resort shops etc. I was fortunate to be with my husband otherwise it would have felt vulnerable walking at night.
We were told by the rep that she had not experienced any crime in her whole season there, but unfortunately our friends were pick pocketed along the promenade so you can never be too sure - always get a safety deposit box.
There is an animation team within the complex whom were pleasant every day however they struggled for participants for the activities due to the majority of guested being of an older generation - again they didnt adapt their programme to meet the needs of the guests... water polo and archery for the over 65's?
Again we werent bothered by the activities but some feedback for the hotel.
If we were the type to return to a hotel - We would go back to this hotel - and our parents have already booked to go back next year. We would go back to Lanzarote it is a very nice island far nicer than the the more commercialised Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
The only real problem with our holiday was the airline seats - absolutely awful! Very narrow even for my husband with a 32inch waiste. When the person in front chose to recline his seat i couldnt read my book as it was too close to my face. Why oh why fo airlines still offer reclineable seats????

We stayed in the Club Playa Blanca over New Year. The hotel accomodation is in small bungalows within landscaped grounds. We were fully inclusive but the room was de
scribed as having self catering facilities, unfortunately this consisted of 3 glasses, a microwave and a fridge. However this
did not spoil our enjoyment of this lovely hotel.
The hotel staff went out of their way to make our holiday and the entertainment staff were excellent.
The evening entertainment was not always great but it was adequate.
During the day there were a lot of activities organised around the pool with the staff doing their best to get everyone to join in. They did not pester and I think they got the balance just right.
The food was of a good quality with plenty of choice but was very much the same every day,
We had a great time at this hotel and will certainly return some time in the future.

The resort of Playa Blanca is in my opinion the best on the island. Family and couples friendly. However we were very disappointed in the facilities at the Sun Park
complex. We had stayed here in 2010 and though basic was adequate, clean and tidy. This year what a change, the rooms were not cleaned and fresh towels had to be asked for, as did a toaster. The general maintenance of the facilities was poor with leaves blocking up the drains so that in the storm a considerable number of apartments were flooded. The window in the bedroom leaked as well. I felt rather sad that this complex which only one year earlier we had considered cheap and cheerful had degenerated to be shabby and dirty.
Would I go again - yes to Playa Blanca. Would I stay at the Sun Park again - possibly as the situation with the easy walk into town and I know what I am likely to get in facilities, but I would look at other apartments in the future.

This was the first time we had gone away on holiday at Chistmas. So glad we did it was fabulous, plenty of sun, food and drink. The room accommodation was cleaned 6
out of the 7 days we stayed, plenty of sunbeds in fact you could go down to the pool areas at any time and you would get sunbeds, however it was only 3/4 full. Staff were very helpful and courteous especially the receptionists and we would recommend Club Playa Blanca(Lanzarote) to all our families and friends. The only downside to the holiday was that some of the pathways near or around the pool were very slippery and you had to walk with caution. The main resort of Playa Blanca is only a 10 minute walk from the apartments and is well worth the visit.

great for families couples or friends. Entertiaiment & hotel staff both fab & lots going on during the day to keep you amused. Food is average, but you cannot expect
any more from a 3 star resort hotel, there is always someting you can have. Plenty sunbeds & decent service at bars. Accommodation excellent. Overall a friendly well run hotel which I would certainly visit again.
The only thing that spoiled our holiday in December was the outgoing flight which was diverted to Gran Canaria because of high winds. We had to stay there overnight & didnt actually get to the resort until almost 24 hours later. The attitude of the Thomas Cook cabin crew & staff towards passengers in this situation left a lot to be desired.

Playa Blanca is lovely place to visit better then Costa Teguise, very peaceful, relaxing break lovely beaches, friendly people, but H10 Paradise Island Aparthotel wa
s RUBBISH, smelly, dirty sofa, you have to pay for the remote controll and pay for the TV channels- so not happy about this.
Rooms were very smelly even though the staff would come in everyday to change bathroom towels and bedsheets, bedroom blankets were smelly. Paradise Island aparthotel staff were very friendly and always there to help so no complaints about the staff.
Restuarant food- Again RUBBISH, you travel different place, because you want to exeprience the culture, food etc, but what do we see in the restuarant same old English food, chips, beans, english breakfast, so there was nothing Canarian to try. I am Vegetatrian and allergic of seafood so the only food choice I had was CHIPS and SALADS...
VERY VERY VERY DIRTY POOL, the 2 weeks I was there I did not see anyone cleaning the pool, kids were in there all the time

Overall a good Holiday spoilt by the poor quality food, ie. at Breakfast whilst the eggs were freshlly prepared and hot, the bacon was undercooked(almost raw) and co
ld along with everything else on the 'hot' buffet. Lunch when taken was generally ok, but Dinner was extremely poor; lukewarm food, some of it inedible, although the Canarian theme night was excellent - more than could be said for the Mexican, Chinese and Japanese nights. Very disappointing to have to serve your own drinks (beer and wine) at Dinner, waiter service would have more acceptable. The only place you could get Tea and Coffee in a china cup was at Breakfast in the restaurant, at every other Bar all drinks were served in a plastic glass or a cardboard Pepsi cup! The Restaurant was badly understaffed, tables left uncleared so that we had, on several occassions, starter plates-main course plates and sweet plates all left on the table. Beautiful gardens, lovely setting spoilt by poor food and poor service. Good flights with the Captain keeping us well informed. Pleasant staff at the Airport and in resort. Booking on net good and staff at Manchester excellent. You did keep us well informed after our late booking! Thank you.

We stayed at this great resort for two weeks from 29th August to 12th September. The hotel is in a good location only 5 minutes walk from the Resort Centre, around 2
0-25 minutes from the Marina Rubicon and about 10-15 minutes from the Playa Dorada and closer to the harbour beach. Playa Blanca has a good selection of shops, bars, restaurants and cafes, a lovely promenade, a marina and a ferry port. It is pretty and has a quiet and relaxed feel.
The hotel is beautiful and staff were great. We had a problem with the hot water and when we reported it to the reception they had it fixed within the hour. We also requested extra towels at one point and they were delivered also within the hour. They should put more staff on the bar but other than that I have nothing to complain about. The reception staff can also organise good value trips for you.
There are a few areas that had superficial damage such as worn paint on perimeter walls. Where areas of paving were damaged they were fixed really quickly.
The food is actually pretty varied in my opinion and there is a good variety. All food I chose was fresh and hot food was hot. In addition to the restaurant hours there are snacks available between meal times, but snacks later into the night would have been welcome. The first week we were there the pool bar had a manned hot food and salad bar, which was great, but this was significantly reduced in the second week probably because the number of guests dropped quite a bit. You can also get little pots of ice cream from the pool bar.
The number of sunbeds was pretty adequate during our stay. There was two days in our first week where if you arrived after 10am you may find it difficult to get a lounger, but the other days there were plenty available all day.
The bungalow accommodation was clean, nicely decorated, spacious and had good facilities. We stayed at the front of the property and the setting wasn’t as nice, but we had no insect problems, it was handy for the pool, restaurant etc. and the entrance/exit and we had a great nights sleep every night.
The entertainment programme and the hotel is geared towards families with young children and wasn’t really that great for us. You aren’t pressured into the daytime activities, but there is a lot to do if you want to get involved. Not many of the night time shows appealed to us, but there is stuff to do in Playa Blanca if you don’t want to stick around the hotel at night.
We paid the same for this as we would for any other 4* hotel I could find at half board so it was a pretty good bargain. I would recommend this hotel to most people, although it is probably better for families.

After booking we read some reviews on trip advisor and holiday watchdog, there were some poor reviews on these sites so we were a little apprehensive. However we had
nothing to worry about. The hotel is very clean and you get a bungalow style building to stay in. The rooms were cleaned regularly with fresh towels/ sheets changed regularly too. The food is nice and is available throughout the day until 11 p.m. It can get repetitive, but then again there are only so many dishes that can be cooked! There was only one night when there was a bit of a queue and that seemed to be when new holiday makers and those waiting to return home crossed over. The pool is clean and has a lifeguard. The staff were outstanding always willing to help and always with a smile. The hotel is quite family orientated and what really surprised me was how well all the nationalities got on. You have the choice of joining in activities and this does bring people together. Activities include archery, water volley, darts, football amongst others and you can also book the tennis courts. Sunbeds could do with a few more parasols, but that is really the only gripe. We had a fantastic time and are already looking to book for next year.
Thanks for a great holiday!

Not too much of a problem to be honest, but wouldn't like it if hotel was full to capacity.I would say everything was fine, food was great and position of hotel was good,as we like a walk to the shops and beach.Marina was lovely.Downside for us was an accident in the hotel grounds,my sister fell and badly hurt her face,on ringing reception for someone to bring us ice I was told they were short staffed. If i wanted a dr they would call an ambulance. With hindsight we should have done that, but didn't.No-one from the hotel came to see if we were ok at any time.Staff in the restaurant were all lovely and very concerned about my sister as she was unable to eat.It was such a bad accident she has had to undergo surgery and has lost eleven teeth!!! As she fell she hit her mouth and moved the roots of all her front teeth.Spoilt what should have been a lovely holiday and without this happening I am sure it would have been.My 16 year old daughter loved the place ,enjoyed the entertainment, joined in the sports and was just beginning to make friends when the holiday was over. Beware of the narrow paths up to the bungalows and the kerbstones!!!

We stayed at the Club Playa Blanca, which was very medicore. The rooms are large, the towels were not changed even though we requested it and the cleaning was not go
od. The lack of sunbeds is a massive issue, which meant that we went to the beach a lot and paid for meals outside, which doesn't make sense when you've paid for all inclusive. The food on site was actually better than some reviews mentioned.Be warned the tiles around the pool are very slippery when wet.
We were then affected by the volcanic ash with no flights out of Lanzarote and we were transfered to the Beatriz in Tegise where we were looked after very well until our flight home on Tuesday evening/ night. We would like to thank Thomas Cook for the way they dealt with the situation and its reassuring that we caught the first flight home. Well done and Thank you to Thomas Cook!!

We went to Club Playa Blanca Dec 27th 2009 to get away from the cold and to celebrate New Year. This complex is so clean and well maintained. The food was always ver
y nice and service was always with a smile and helpful, well perhaps the odd one needed to practice smiling a little more but in all they were very friendly. The entertainment for my 6 year old was great. One thing that impressed me was there was always a life guard at the pool which was great as there was no heat in the pool which took your beathe away. I have recommended this complex to people and know a family who have booked on my recommenation. One word of warning though which no one tells you about. No matter what time your flight is your all inclusive ends at 12 lunchtime which was a little hard on my 6 year as our flights were at 11pm so go to town and have a meal.
