Furteventura wonderful, Hotel beautiful, spoiled by red tape
Large spacious hotel, with immaculate grounds, mostly friendly staff and attention to detail. Rooms large and clean, albeit a little tired, food plentiful, albeit somewhat repetitive, entertainment good albeit somewhat haphazard! Large pool with lifeguard. Day time children's entertainment can get rather loud and in your face and the music seems to get louder and louder by the pool as the hours pass during the day, eventually causing sunbathers to seek refuge!
Management enforcing one rule and staff adopting others! Communication between staff seems poor. Our special room request(s) made for medical and mobility reasons ignored, whilst another travellers request for a high room for view accepted! Problem was eventually solved but after days elapsed.
All Inclusive status is removed by Management after breakfast, even if your flight isn't until 8pm! Other staff not removing All Inclusive status leading to inequality and discrimination.

Just returned form a two week stay , went last year for one week , loved it so much went back for two weeks this year. The hotel is spotless ,the staff are very friendly and always helpful. Rooms are spaciuos and excellent with great sea views.
An excellent addition this year is the Italian themed evenings ( each guest gets to go once in the week ) with waitress service which makes a pleasant change from the self service buffet.
The food is very good and varied , plenty of choice and always of a high standard , especially the sea food.
We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and are already planning next years stay. There are so many guests who keep going back year after year.

Lovely winter break in fuerteventura
stayed 22 Jan 2014 for 10 days. the hotel was very good with excellent service and good food, albeit the food became very "samey" in the second week. plenty of room around the pool and lots of chairs ( so no need to put your towels out, those that feel the need to ). AI stops at 2300, but if you have not had enough by then, you are just bleeding the system.
Great flight times from Glasgow with no wasted days and no hanging around.

We dont play golf & do not have childfen. so we were ignored by staff.
In my opinion does not rate 4 stars, maybe 2/3.
this covers food, room service, bar service, cleanliness, at the Elba Sara hotel.
Just about the worst 4 star we have stayed in with Thomas Cook. after waiting over 15 minutes to be served at the only available bar in the eveving, I complianed to the staff, only to be told that the golfers come every year so they are looked after!!!!

Service generally and reception were great. Requested a mattress topper, because the beds are very hard, and extra pillows which was sorted out on the same day. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and courteous. Room needed refurbishment, very tired and a bit scruffy. Sink in the bathroom was cracked so badly it looked like crazy paving. We had problems with the guest in the next room smoking in his room. Unfortunately the smoke permeated into our room and it was very strong smelling. The guy also smoked during the night and we both woke up coughing several times in the night. If we had had children with us we would have been really disturbed about the smoke. I am not exaggerating it was very strong and irritating. Some of the food was good, salads, show cooking, daily roast and themed nights. However the so called 'hot food' in the trays was all cold. If you weren't all inclusive you had to open an 'account' to purchase any drinks from the restaurant and bars. This involved leaving your credit card details in the form of a photocopy of your card. We did this and then payed in cash at the end of the holiday because we had brought euros with us. Although I don't know what my bank would have thought of this practice. If the details had been used fraudulently I think they would have denied all responsibility as we had given over the card to be photocopied willingly!! We won't be going back to the Elba Sara. It could be a really great hotel with a few changes.

Lovely accommodation and staff very friendly
The Elba Sara hotel is a lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were big and roomy. Our bed was massive. It was quiet at night, so had no problem sleeping. The grounds were well laid out and again lovely. The restaurant had a good selection of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The lounge/bar areas were spot on. The bar staff were very cheerful. Night time intertainment wasnt bad.We would go back if we were looking for a quiet holiday. Nice sea view walk in to the main part of the town. However, there is a small shopping centre right next door if you did not want to wander very far. Thank you all at the Elba Sara. Xxx

Good but could be so much better
First the good bits.
The hotel was excellent, room large and clean, staff all friendly and helpful, food was superb ( try the roast Pork). On the down side there are not enough staff, the restaurant was extremely noisy, Music was way to loud around the pool side most of the day, the brochure shows the hotel on a sandy beach WHERE IS IT
