Het hotel ligt uiterst rustig aan het zandstrand van Mijas. In de buurt van het hotel bevinden zich een restaurant, bar en een discotheek. Het dichtstbijzijnde station en winkels liggen op 500 meter, de dichtstbijzijnde golfbaan op 8 kilometer. Naar het plaatselijke centrum Cala de Mijas loopt men in ongeveer 5 minuten. Het is ongeveer 16 kilometer naar de jachthaven Puerto Banus.Het in 2002 gebouwde en volledig gerenoveerde strandhotel beschikt in totaal over 302 kamers op 6 etages waarvan 10 eenpersoons-, 290 tweepersoonskamers en 10 suites. Het hotel biedt zijn gasten een ontvangsthal met een receptie die 24 uur per dag geopend is, kluis, geldwisselkantoor, liften, café, kiosk, WiFi, winkels en twee bars. Daarnaast beschikt het over een tv-ruimte, speelkamer, een van airconditioning voorzien restaurant met een niet-rokergedeelte, openbare internetterminal en een fietsverhuur. De wasservice, medische dienst, een parkeerplaats en een parkeergarage ronden het aanbod af.De ruim ingerichte kamers beschikken over een eigen badkamer met wc, haardroger, telefoon, satelliet-/kabeltelevisie, radio, stereo-installatie, internetaansluiting en een balkon met zijdelings uitzicht op zee. Tevens beschikken de kamers over centrale verwarming, kluisje, airconditioning en een parketvloer.De gasten staat een zwembad met bar, kinderbadje, ligstoelen en parasols ter beschikking. Er worden wateraerobic/aerobic, tennis, boogschieten en beachvolleybal aangeboden; bovendien kan men tegen betaling biljart of golf spelen en fietsen huren. Een animatieprogramma zorg voor amusement.Gasten kunnen zowel hun ontbijt alsook lunch en avondeten zelf aan een buffet samenstellen. Zowel het middag- als het avondeten kan als menu gekozen worden. Tevens wordt de gasten speciale- en dieetmaaltijden aangeboden. Er bestaat de mogelijkheid all-inclusive te boeken.

The staff are very helpful at the Vik Gran and that's a real plus. Basically you get what you pay for as this is a no frills hotel so you have to manage your expectations, but you go on holiday to get out and about so it's a base to work from. Certainly isn't 4 star as it's pretty worn out in parts and the reception looks shabby which isnt good for first impressions. Room was fine, slept well as it was quiet, but side sea view on first floor bit of joke. The pool area is cluttered, but the hotel is adjacent to the beach so another plus. There was entertainment at night which was good at times but the room and bar area a souless sea of uncomfortable 1970s tables and chairs more like a working mens club. The reading and tv room need upgrading as both basic and uninviting. The buffet food is repetitive and tasteless with staff clattering around like headless chickens which makes it a fractious experience. I'm a vegetarian who doesnt like eggs so a bit restricted though theres a pineapple mountain each day of old chewy fruit. However, we ate out a few times. I'd advise the safe being used at all times as I returned with missing jewellery one piece of some value so that has left a bad taste. Nice holiday overall..the hotel is what it is..

Nice hotel in need of updating

Unsure about this hotel due to previous reviews however was surprised that it wasn't as bad as I feared Check was smooth however could have been more helpful room card given mo expiation of times where pool bar dinning room was Room was nice good view and plenty of space for clothes towels and bedding were thin but clean Food was good plenty of choice My main issue was the sun beds and pool Sunbeds are old and dirty as they are on muddy grass On the whole a pleasant stay the hotel needs lots of updating it's a prime location

Chilled Out

Once again we had a great time at The Gran Vic we went for 12 days all inclusive and stayed on the 4th floor poolside the room was nice, clean and spacious. The staff were amazing again with Annas, Jose, Danny, Mica & Marina especially making this a holiday to remember and it was. We will book again for sure which will be our 5th stay at The Gan Vicas it’s just a fantastic location and chilled out destination. Special mention to our friend Anna-Maes who leaves for pastures new we wish Anna-Maes all the very best on her new career
