OK very nice stay but open to small improvements

Another good experience at this hotel,we have stayed here twice before. Food choice really can not be faulted,always something for everyone at every meal, good drinks offering with premium brands and Magners Cider for the none lager drinkers. Nice setting close to the beach and the pine walk. Pool view rooms with a terrace are good but the conifer hedges have been allowed to grow which does reduce the pool view to zero,we were in room 1105 and all we had was a view of the back of the reception toilets and the car park. Beds are comfortable if not luxurious but you can adjust for that. My only serious gripe is cycling shorts in the restaurant which both myself and my wife find offensive,the hotel previously had a no sportswear policy but this seems to have been relaxed,I know cyclists provide revenue but the only sausages we wish to see in the morning are the ones on our plates

Great hotel for families

The hotel is very well located at the edge of Port de Pollenca. Nice and spacious suite with a regular bed (not a sofa) and a crib in addition to the master bed. Good food, nice dinks. The kids loved the pools, the access to the spa in the afternoon and the Disco in the evening (Thank you Coco!) We had to fly back to France 1 day earlier than planned due to airline strike and the hotel offered a full refund of the last day. Rare enough to be mentioned.

Great location and nice hotel

We stayed in May at the Playa Mar hotel. I travelled alone with my son with our bikes. Overall the hotel is very good, and suited us well. There were a couple of niggles namely the air con wasn’t turned on in the hotel complex, which meant the nights were a little uncomfortable. We had a 2nd floor room, with a view over the pool. We liked this room very much and it wasn’t too difficult to get our bikes back up to the room each day. The food was good for us, and we had the All Inclusive option. My only niggle here was we would have loved pancakes for breakfast as I am sure most of the cyclists would as well. The only other comment about the dinning area was the waiters did rush about a lot and squeeze past and knock chairs rushing to set tables up for the next day. I didn’t find this very relaxing. The drinks were good, and although we didn’t drink much as we were cycling each day, there was a good selection on offer. The room was spacious and it was nice to have the extra double bed in another room for my teenage son. We didn’t find the privacy much of an issue, I’m not sure if that was because our room had the glass door facing a wall. We would definitely come again, but would not book via Jet2, as we had several issues with our flights which they failed to resolve. This had no reflection on the hotel, who were helpful to our queries. We did have an ant invasion which wasn’t great, but the cleaning staff kept on top of them on their daily clean. I would recommend this hotel to other cyclists in Feb-May, and then September to close. There were a lot of families with small children, and this hotel is ideal for them.
