Family Holiday In Alcudia
Have never been to Alcudia before we were quite apprehensive; we arrived on time with the only hiccup being that I had paid for meals on the plane when I booked but this did not show up on my ticket. Luckily, I had noticed this and took email confirmation. Transfer was about an hour and was cool and comfortable and we were given info on when/where we could meet our rep the following day. The hotel check in was quick and painless (expect to leave your passports overnight). The room safe was a reasonable 35 euros for 2 weeks to which you get 5 back when you hand the key in at the end. The rooms where very clean and well equiped (cleaned 5 out of 7 days a week) and there was enough space for my wife and I plus 2 teenage children including a large balcony with table, 4 chairs and a clothes dryer. The air conditioning worked very well and the were no major issues with insects / bugs. The pool is OK but get out early to put your towels out (some people were out 30mins before) and the reps put on plenty of entertainment throughout the day. The bar staff are shocking and unbelievably slow and more than once I just gave up waiting. The evening entertainment in the hotel was as much as could be expected, but there are many blind spots in the function room where you can't see the stage so get there early. There is a shop on-site but only go there as a last resort as everything is much cheaper if you shop around, also don't use the hotel internet cause you can get double the time across the road and don't use the on site launderette as your clothes emerge no cleaner. We went self catering as we like to try a different restaurant every night so I can't comment on the hotel food, but the facilities for self catering were excellent (fridge/freezer, stove, sink, microwave, kettle and all the glasses, plates, pots and pans etc you'll need). Location wise I thought the Sol Alcudia was perfect, close enough to the beach (approx 300m across 1 busy intersection) yet right in the heart of the main strip. The beach was fantastic and clean and the water was amazing, with many opportunities for sports (jet skiing, banana boat, parasailing etc all quite reasonable). We enjoyed walking down the beach to the marina for evening meal as we found that the restaurants were better. Alcudia is an eco-tourism spot, so may appear quieter after midnight as the bars close their windows and doors and continue the party inside. This is unlike resorts in Turkey where main areas are loud, bustling and alive well into the early hours. Overall a good quality hotel in a great location of an outstanding resort.

Great family holiday
We have visited Alcudia many times but this was our first stay in this hotel. We got a really good deal and the apartments were really spacious and suited our needs. We didn't eat in the hotel so cannot comment on the food, the evening entertainment was good two nights out of the week. 3 euro for a pint of local lager when you can get one for 2 euro in other nearby entertainment complexes so went out most nights. Reception Staff & Claeaning staff extremely friendly and socialable.

the only two sevices that are way below..standard are the bar. the staff charged what ever price they wanted also they are not trained in customer services.the pool and system of sunbeds are a joke they call it the chicken run surely there could be a system to give O.A.P.S a ten yard startthe flight was excellent

Slightly disappointing holiday in Alcudia
Slightly disappointing holiday to Sol de Alcudia apartments in Alcudia. Located in very noisy British part of resort. Excessive bar and hotel entertainment noise until early hours of morning every night. No air conditioning and had to pay to hire a fan when too hot at night. Very thin walls so could hear neighbours and other residents very clearly at times. Not much room around pools so felt very crowded at times.
On a positive note, staff and reps were very helpful. The actual pools were ok for kids. Flights and everything were good. I think we just chose the wrong resort and hotel as we prefer a more peaceful holiday! Would return to Majorca again just toa different area.

First time in Alcudia
As first time visitors to Alcudia (couple with 2 children aged 5 & 7) we were very impressed with our holiday. The appartments are excellently situated minutes from the beach and close to so many restuarants. For a 3* appt, we found the rooms very spacious and comfortable. The cleaning service was excellent (cleaners came 5 times a week). However, our favourite part of the holidaying at Sol Alcudia was the atmosphere at the complex. It was so family orientated and very friendly. There were regular activities for 1hr or so a day at the kids club, but moreover, the pools proved the main meeting point. The staff at the hotel were faultless, and the kids club entertainners also did pool games etc which encouraged adult participation. The hotel evening entertainment could have been more up to date (music etc) to encourage more of the guests to use it and to mingle in the evening as opposed to leaving the complex, but this would not deter us from returning.

First Holiday Abroad
Well it was my first holiday abroad and I honestly didn't know what to expect. I was travelling with my boyfriend, he is 26 and I am 22.
The flight went swiftly with no delays, and for my first time flying, it was a nice experience. Once we got to the airport we found our luggage easily enough, and then we were directed straight to our transfer coach (which was lucky as it was tipping down!) Thomas Cook staff were very helpful, and there were lots of them around for directions.
When I booked the holiday, I was a little bit wary of the hotel, as some of the reviews were terrible - however upon arrival I was pleasantly suprised - the hotel looked wonderful from the outside (however the downpour ruined the view!!) Once we got inside, it was clean, and the staff on the reception were very helpful. IWe got to the room to find it clean, spacious, adequate cooking facilities - we went self-catering, and adequate storage spaces.
In the room there was a TV which served us well for our first three days because of the rain, there was a variety of english channels, and channels for children to watch also. (was a bit annoyed to be watching tv - i wanted to top up the tan!)
Also, the swimming pool was large and clean, and the children's pool was adequate. Only thing I would recommened would be for the hotel to play music whilst there are people sunbathing, as it was quite boring! (Im a fidgeter and can't sit still for more than ten mins!)
Overall I had a FANTASTIC holiday and would recommend this resort to familes, couples and the older generation. If you want a place to club, try Magaluf. I would also come here in main season as it was pretty quite when we arrived 3/5/10 however by the end of our 2nd week it started to get busy.
Flight how was almost disatrous but with the help of Thomas Cook staff, a 24 hour delay was made as comfortable as possiblle (the ash cloud had delayed our flight) Those who had booked a package holiday were provided with a room and all inclusive accomodation for the day (this was areound 200 people) They had managed to put all of the people flying out, together, and everyone was comfortable, fed and watered, so I would like to thank Thomas Cook for being calm and organised!!
Book with thomas cook - and if you're looking for a relaxing beach holiday, Alcudia is the place for you.
I hope this review has helped anyone wanting to book a holiday. (p.s. sorry for the essay!!)

Highly Recommended for everyone!
We have now been to the Sol Alcudia Center twice and plan to go back this summer! we always said that we could'nt go to the same place twice but Alcudia is an amazing resort with plenty to do and a great mix of tourists! There are plenty of Irish and British bars across the resort and there are so many fabulous restaurants right on the hotels doorstep. The hotel itself is very big, unfortunatley though the pool area doesnt exactly fit the hotel, nevertheless its still a nice relaxing poolside with plenty of acticities to keep the kids (and adults!) busy. The beach is a five minute walk away on the main road and it is amazing, six miles long, and water is very shallow and very clean. Public areas of the hotel are quite modern and very clean, the rooms and corridors could do with a touch of paint but dont worry, its not like the paint is peeling of the walls, its just quite dull. 1bed apts are very big and easily fit 4 people, or even 5 at a squeeze. Entertainment at night is very good but you definately need to venture out to see some of the shows in the bars outside the hotel! I highly recommend this hotel as a location for families, couples, anyone!
