My partner and I stayed for two weeks at the Aparna Hotel, in Kovalam. This basic b&b accomadation
at the end of March 2009. Was comfortable and clean.
The hotel ha
d a safe for our passports and cash, we could order afternoon tea daily.
The Manager Satiya, was so helpful. We wanted to travel by taxi North (Tamil Nadu) to visit rubber and tea plantations, he arranged for us to stay one night in Takari, in a four star hotel for a third of the price. I will remember forever the tea plantations - so beautiful with their round hills, and lucious green leaves.
I would recommend this hotel to a couple who want a relaxing holiday, without extreme luxury,
India will blow you away, the kindness of the people, the scent and colours of beautiful tropical flowers, working elephants striding along city streets, save up now, for an experience with memories that you can keep for a life time
The best thing about Southern India was seeing the way of life of the locals, selling fish and vegetables by the road side, hearing recordings of high pitched female singers singing in Hindi blasting from speakers
outside the temples. Eating the sweetest ever pineapples on the beach.
