Bulgaria has changed much over the last decade, though in the more remote villages you can
still find locals who ride a donkey to work, eat homegrown potatoes and make their own cheese.
The people of Bulgaria struggle valiantly to adapt and remain remarkably hospitable in the face
of social and economic chaos. Urban Bulgaria, especially Sofia, is much changed. Bulgaria's ski
and beach results are very cheap, and you don't need a lot of money to appreciate Bulgaria's
dramatic mountains, haven-like monasteries, churches, mosques, Roman and Byzantine ruins, and
the excellent coffee you'll be offered wherever you go.
Fascinating Bulgaria is a land rich in contrasts, with soaring mountains, vibrant seaside
towns, and ancient forests. It borders five other countries, Romania to the north, Serbia and the
Republic of Montenegro to the west and Greece and Turkey to the South, and is located
in one of the sunniest corners of Europe.
Bulgaria can boast that rare combination of having fantastic beaches, exhilarating ski
resorts and spectacular mountains. Holidays
to this wonderful country come at more than affordable prices. They tend sit further towards
the lower end of the price scale compared with other popular European holiday destinations.
When here, food, drink and tourist attractions also tend to be on the cheap side, and lets face
it, everyone likes a bargain, which is why holidays to Bulgaria are fast becoming the go-to
place for those who appreciate beauty, history, cosmopolitan beach resorts, verdant forests,
mountain lakes, and exciting skiing.
