Came multiple times, always great service. Last night was last minute check in, around midnight. Amoni was sweet, friendly and fast. We were in our room in no time! Rooms are clean, comfortable. Big shower head is a plus!

Good value, but beware of the sneaky 'Guest Amenity Fee'

I had my stay at Grand Bay San Francisco last week, as part of my San Francisco trip. It was a good location to explore near the San Mateo - Mountain View - San Jose area. You can easily cab from the hotel to the San Mateo caltrain station, which is 30 minutes away on foot. The hotel have a good value compared to the price. It was not until I found out about the amenity fee that was put on my credit card on file a few days after my stay, when I checked my bank statement, that I got upset about the hotel experience. Also, the female staff that assisted me during the check-in in the evening was very friendly, helpful, and nice. However, the male staff that assisted me when I arrived early around the noon before the check-in time was not too attentive, as if he did not want to be working at the moment. He seemed like he just wanted to be done with questions rather than assisting me with early check-in inquiries and the baggage storage process. I am frankly agitated by the fact that I had not been notified about the amenity fee for the nights that I stayed at the hotel. It should be communicated when I was providing my credit card only for incidentals during the check in process. At least, a notification text or an email should be communicated to inform that the fee was going to incurred. This is a type of Junk fees that are dishonest and sneaky.
