Beware the teenage Scottish bagpipers!

Let's start with the best part of my visit. The staff were very nice and responded to my complaints (see below) and kept me supplied with bottles of cold water. And the bed was comfortable, and the one time I resquested housekeeping, they left everything clean and tidy. Besides that, not too much went right for this visit. I tried the breakfast one day, and it was a disaster - what was supposed to be apple juice was just watery pink colored mess. The oatmeal was empty so I asked them to refill it - when they did, all it was was gray water with a couple of oat flakes floating in it. Suffice it to say that I ate breakfast out the whole time I was there, at considerable expense, as you might imagine. The hotel neglected to inform the regular paying customers like me that they had booked the vast majority of the hotel for the weekend to a troupe of 8-17 year old bagpipers from Scotland. I am not kidding. On my floor, with its 8 rooms, I was the only person there who did not belong to the band. The first night, they kept me up till 2am slamming doors, having loud conversations in the hallways, and just doing what teenagers everywhere do. I complained the next day, and was assured by the desk person that this would be sorted out. And sure enough, that night the noise was missing. But then, the next morning around 7am, the door slamming and loud conversations started all over again. So much for sleeping in a bit to catch up on my sleep. Then Saturday night, around 11, somebody tripped the emergency exit alarm. I poked my head into the hallway to see more than a dozen of them, thinking it was a fire alarm and getting ready to walk downstairs (did their fellow who tripped the alarm not tell them what he had done?) I called downstairs to let the staff know that the kids were up to their revelry again, and was told again that the group's chaperones would be notified. Finally, I got a mostly good night's sleep, and the morning revelry didn't start until after 8am, mercifully. But the die was cast - after 3 days with very little sleep (I had my own activities to attend to each day) I was as you might imagine done with this hotel.

Excellent service. Great breakfast. Everything was very clean. They even held our luggage for the day after we checked out. My only complaint would be the rooms are small and the breakfast area is very crowded.

Excellent Hotel for MSG Events

Only two blocks from MSG. Decent price for this location. Extremely helpful and pleasant staff. I recommend parking across the street in the valet lot if you bring your car. It is difficult to unload your car since it is on a busy street
