Great for a 1st Family Hoilday
As as 1st family holiday aboard for 2 weeks we really enjoyed our experience at Armas Green! great Staff catered to our Autistic Son who is extremely fussy eater, the kitchen staff made him his own meal every evening! the only downer i'd say with the food was it is more catered to the Russians and not labelled? Had to guess what you would eating! (Be prepared for the Russian queue jumpers!!) Room was clean, my only annoyance was there was not enough storage or hangers for your clothes/shoes. You have to be an early bird for Sunbeds! We were roomed right near the pools which wasn't too bad during the day but the music from the night entertainment was way too loud at night!! (honestly felt like trying to sleep in the middle of a club) Entertainment during the day was great, many laughs, pretty much the same thing every night. Overall i would stay there again :)
Mainly catered for Russians
We stayed here for 2 weeks and I thought it would be easier to list the pros and cons: Pros: - The hotel is very clean and our rooms were cleaned everyday. - There was a lot of food to choose from. - Having the beach nearby was nice and the sea was clear. - Near amenities. - Slides were great. - Foam party was fun. - Lots of cold bottled water to take during the day and night. - Kids club Cons: - The hotel is outdated and needs some modernisation. Taps had limescale and you could see where holes had been patched up. - There seems to be a problem with most of the hotel rooms balcony doors and windows - they don’t close properly. This also make the room noisier especially if you’re by the animals or entertainment. - The animals are a nice touch but, they are noisy and the conditions they’re kept in don’t look good. It’s also very smelly. - This hotel mainly caters for Russians, there are only a few staff who speak English. I also found some staff, more so kitchen staff were kinder to Russians. The entertainment could be boring aswell because we couldn’t understand what was being said. - The kids club was good but they let the kids wander off if they didn’t want to stay, which I thought was weird. The certificate ceremony they do in the evening from kids club seemed like a scam, I thought the kids got it from attending but it was because their parents paid $12 for them to colour in a t-shirt . - The queues for food were sometimes too long. - Food in the restaurant needs to be labelled. Ironically they label the trees but not the food . - Staff were not removing all cutlery from the tables after someone had finished using the table. - A few of us were ill during the holiday, I don’t know if this was from the food or the pool as the pool didn’t look the cleanest. - The beach is dirty, full of fag butts, food and condom wrappers. - The plant pots the use as bins by the sunloungers are disgusting and need cleaning daily. Would I go back again? No.
2 week family stay
I stayed here for 2 weeks with my wife and 4 children aged between 4 and 8 and I thought I would leave a review. We travelled from England. The hotel is relatively small and accommodation is split into several blocks painted in different colours. It is located on the beach which is nice and the sea is lovely, you can see lots of fish. It has 2 swimming pools with baby/toddler areas and slides. There are shops nearby and a taxi rank and you can arrange excursions, we went to Alanya water park, did a jeep safari and a boat trip which was good. We were surprised that most of the guests are Russian, this isn’t an issue at all but it might be difficult for your children to make friends if they don’t speak the same language. Luckily there were 2 English families when we were here so our children made some friends but once they left that was it. You also find that a lot of the stuff is catered for the Russians and not all staff speak English. I wouldn’t expect them to speak English because we travelled from England but because it’s an international language most people learn but we managed with Google translate. Rooms are basic and a little run down (old shower, limescale on taps, very worn out doors and windows) but clean. the air con works well in the main room but found the area where the extra bed is a little too hot. You can also hear everything from the room next door in the bathroom, I don’t mind this but first time I thought there was an intruder in my room when the neighbour coughed the tv image is awful but that didn’t matter too much, think most of the channels were Russian and a few Turkish Entertainment was ok. There is a kids club, my children only attended twice for a short time and they do mini disco at 9pm most nights then maybe one or two shows a week for adults as well as live music, bingo, mr Armas etc The food selection wasn’t the best from an English point of view but we always managed to find something to eat even if it got a bit repetitive. There was always salad then a selection of dishes, grilled food station and desserts. Restaurant can get very busy. The juice isn’t very good quality and the only hot drinks you can have are Turkish tea or coffee. No other tea selection or hot chocolate. I ended up buying my own tea bags and asking for hot water. The hygiene in the restaurant could also improve a little. We all felt a bit ill for a couple of days. Weird thing they do at the restaurant is when they clear a table they just take the dirty plates and cutlery but leave the “clean” ones behind so be careful as they looked dirty to me and the table clothing could be cleaner too. Also a lot of food wasn’t labelled so we didn’t know what it was, if you have any dietary issues you’ve got no chance here There is a fast food station near the beach and waffle/gozleme which is good but can have very long queues (30 minutes sometimes) The spa isn’t badly priced and the Turkish bath is good. They give you fresh pool towels every 2 days. Unfortunately like with most all inclusive hotels, people reserve their beds early so it’s hard to find a space and a lot of the time they wouldn’t come back so I would watch and if it was obvious someone wasn’t there I would just move their towel and use it myself, never had an issue with this. There is a “zoo” on site with rabbits, birds etc which our girls liked but we felt a bit sorry for some of the animals as they probably don’t have enough space. There are nice touches for children like the benches have a smaller sized bench for children and there are small steps at reception for the children to reach. Overall we’ve had a good time and we were lucky we found a cheap price to come this year. I think we got a good deal for what we paid but we heard other people paid much more and that wouldn’t be worth it. I would say it’s more a 3 star rather a 4 star.
