Dit hotel biedt u een heerlijk uitzicht op de Machico-baai. Het ligt centraal in de toeristische plaats Machico (Funchal), op ongeveer 50 m afstand van het strand. In de directe nabijheid van het hotel zijn er winkelzones, met tal van winkels, boetieks, bars, restaurants en discotheken. Het hotel is het ideale uitgangspunt voor wandelingen in de omgeving. Het historische vissersdorpje van Machico bereikt u na een korte wandeling. Een halte van het openbaar vervoer kunt u gemakkelijk te voet bereiken. De luchthaven ligt op ca. 5 km afstand van het hotel.Dit clubhotel van de betere middenklasse heeft een 7 verdiepingen tellend hoofdgebouw en een bijgebouw met 3 verdiepingen. In totaal zijn er 218 tweepersoonskamers. Het hotel heeft een ontvangsthal met 24-uursreceptie, hotelkluis, garderobe, wisselkantoor en een lift. Quiet place.Great for hikers.Close to the airport.Free parking around.Good restaurants.Nice beach.View.

This hotel is very old but is well maintain.Clean and tidy.Only first 3 floors have balcony.But it is must have because the view is perfect apart of 3 floor where you will see only top of the trees.Pool is very large and in good sunny position.Food is good but i not recommended taking diner package because is limited offer of food and you have to pay for the drinks.There is loots of restaurants around where you can taste local and world cuisine for around 12 to 16 euro per dish.Beach next to hotel is rocky but short walk towards marina you will find sandy beach.This place 8s very quiet and just 4 minutes ride from the airport.You can enjoy lovley view or taking promenade walk or even go to hike some levadas.There is no parking at the hotel but before main season there is plenty of parking space around.You must have room with the balcony 1 ad 2 floor soo you will enyoy perfect sunrise and relax oudside.Water in ocean is moderate but you can swimm.Pool water 8n april is cold.

My godthis has to be the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in!!! gorgeous place but no chance of restful sleep.the beds were solid and uncomfortable.one night you could hear a couple having sex in the room above.next night TV and couples chatting into the early hours and following night you could hear people arguing through the walls.the cleaners used to park their trolley outside our room at around 8 in the morning and one in particular never shut up.constant chatter.lovely and clean but out of context with the gorgeous area.. didn't try the restaurant so can't comment but a few nice places to eat at reasonable prices.ill book an air b&b next time.couldnt handle those paperthin walls again so will definitely not stay in a dom Pedro again if this is the norm.also people should be advised by travel companies that you are dropped off at the top of a steep hill which you have to climb back up for return journey so definitely no good for anyone with disabilities.staff aren't over friendly either

The Dom Pedro is a 3* hotel in Machico, some 20km from Funchal, and only 5 mins from the airport. Machico is a lovely little town, really well placed for the eatern end of the island, with lots of walks etc. We stayed as part of a Jet2 package in February, and were very impressed. The hotel is very clean, staff are all wonderful, and the food at the breakfast buffet was excellent. We also tried some bar meals in the evening ,which were also great, and a good price as well. The hotel has nightly entertainment if you want it, and lots of places to sit and relax. We stayed in a balcont club room, which was pretty big with amazing viwes of the coast. For those that like diving, there's a diving school on site who can cater for that, AND they also offfer great advice on local boast trips , which they can book for you. All in all this is a hotel that delivers well above it's 3* rating, and as a travel agent, I'd happilt recommend the Dom Pedro to my customers.
