Dit appartementencomplex ligt dichtbij het stadscentrum (ongeveer 4 kilometer) in het dorpsdeel Montechoro. Het bevindt zich op ongeveer 1,2 kilometer van het strand. In de onmiddellijke omgeving (100 meter) vindt u tal van mogelijkheden om te winkelen, restaurants en bars. Discotheken (circa 200 meter) en het openbaar vervoer (circa 300 meter) zijn gemakkelijk te voet te bereiken.Het hotel ligt in een circa 2000 m2 grote tuin en beschikt over een 5 verdiepingen tellend hoofdgebouw en een 3 en 4 verdiepingen tellend bijgebouw met in totaal 143 studio's en appartementen. Het heeft een ontvangsthal met een 24 uur geopende receptie, een kluis, wisselkantoor en een lift. Verder heeft het een café, kiosk, minimarkt, bar, speelkamer, tv-kamer, van airconditioning voorzien à la carte restaurant met kinderstoelen, conferentieruimte, openbare internetterminal, een speeltuin en een fietsenkelder. In het gebouw is een zelfbedienings-wasserij aanwezig. Auto's kunnen op de parkeerplaats worden geparkeerd.De vriendelijk ingerichte appartementen en studio's hebben een badkamer met wc en haardroger. Verder hebben ze een telefoon, satelliet/kabeltelevisie, keuken met vaatwasser, broodrooster, magnetron, fornuis, koelkast, airconditioning, huurkluis en een gecombineerde woon/slaapkamer. De appartementen beschikken tevens over een aparte slaapkamer. Er wordt dagelijks schoongemaakt.Op het goed onderhouden buitenterrein bevinden zich een zoetwaterpool met kinderbad, een pool-/snackbar, ligstoelen en zonneschermen. Het hotel biedt de gasten een overdekt zwembad, bubbelbad en een fitnessruimte. Tegen betaling beschikt u over een sauna, zonnestudio, stoombad, massage, tennis, tafeltennis, squash en biljart. Op 4 kilometer van het hotel ligt een golfbaan. Aan het mooie zandstrand beschikt u verder over ligstoelen en zonneschermen. Een seizoensafhankelijk animatieprogramma rondt het aanbod af.

Fantastic Staff. Clean Hotel. Great entertainment. Food could be better.

Went with a family with toddler for a week in May. Pros: Exceptionally clean hotel and room. Cleaning staff work tirelessly. Bellux entertainment also fantastic and tireless - not over the top but friendly and fun. Special shout out to Paula and Beatriz who ran the kids club in such a lovely way for our daughter. The circus show was also just amazing. Antonio in the restaurant also was brilliant and helped us with food on most days; helpful for a child with allergies. Apartment is excellently equipped as is room. Cons: Main negative is food quality but perhaps to be expected/not out of keeping with buffet style food especially if kitchen also included.

Another Perfect Stay at Vila Petra

This is now the 5th time staying at Vila Petra and once again it was amazing. You would think at some point standards would drop but not here. The staff are brilliant, helpful and very friendly from Housekeeping to bar staff to security.. But what makes it is the pool entertainment from Bellux. The team are brilliant, lead by Mari with Ana, Paula and Nathan. Always things on for those who don't fancy lying in the sun all day long. Table Tennis, Archery, Boules, garden games and dont forget the aqua gym for those who fancy a little more energetic activity. Don't forget the location, this is situated at the top of the New Town strip, but you would never think it.. Thanks to all and we will be returning for sure.

Woeful hotel, catfished by the photos - avoid at all costs!

Hotel Petra was abysmal. Definitely not a 4 star hotel, very run down in need of repair. The pictures suggest this is an idyllic oasis when in fact this “hotel”is at best a 2 star plus. The location is right in front of a graffiti ridden wall, run down, dodgy area so not surprising you are given a scrawled hand written access card by reception to show when leaving and entering it. Alarm bells went off when we were told this. We have been given access cards before but they were actual proper cards. We asked the duty manager if she could recommend somewhere to eat nearby and she said she couldn’t as she didn’t live in Albufeira - a shockingly poor customer service attitude. A very very basic room, air conditioning didn’t work having spent 20 minutes working on it, the room was nowhere near like the photos, very outdated, there was a musty smell - catfishing in hotel form! We checked out within 1 hour of arriving, no pics taken as genuinely disgusted so we ran out of there. We asked the same unhelpful duty manager when we were leaving if we could get a partial refund and she said it wasn’t the hotels decision but our booking providers. That was a LIE. Our booking provider confirmed it was at the discretion of the hotel directly. We then phoned and spoke to the same duty manager 24 hours later and asked her to update us on the refund, she said she would and she never did - she was highly unprofessional with no impetus on customer service. Not surprisingly the hotel said no on the partial refund request. We were deceived by the outdated photos (catfished) and experienced a highly unprofessional duty manager who lies to guests. Having now checked into an immaculate hotel - my advice is look for the “clean and safe” logo awarded by the Tourism Portugal in a hotel you choose but AVOID this dive of a hotel at all costs!! Advice to management: Upskill and train your duty manager on the principles of hospitality of being knowledgeable, welcoming, communicates effectively and doesn’t lie and instills trust as we experienced absolutely none of these.
