We loved our stay at Riad Armelle, the ambiance was beautiful and peaceful and the staff was very helpful with any of our needs. The location is fantastic, it was about 5-20 min walking to any of the major sites.

A well-balanced and quite beautiful riad in a most authentic part of the old city

This Riad was recommended by my (Australian) bank's travel arm and we were pleased we took up the suggestion for our 7 nights in the red city. First, the location is pretty good, near the Bab Doukkala, which is the most authentic quarter of the old medina with its bustling, senses-filling street markets for the locals. Also not far for vehicle drop off, especially important if you have luggage. A hike to the souk and the palaces to the south of the city, but taxis are close if needed. Secondly, once you enter the tiny turquoise door, you enter a beautiful double atrium riad housing 15 rooms over three floors. Tastefully decorated and loaded with plants, fresh flowers and lots of chairs and sofas to relax at (outside your room). The hotel also has a very extensive rooftop terrace for catching the sun and relaxing. Thirdly, the food is pretty good. An adequate breakfast buffet in the second atrium (but decent coffee costs extra) but would have liked some tomato/cucumber to go with the cheeses and meats. The evening meal, which must be booked in advance was tasty and set each day. Fourthly, the staff try hard to be helpful, especially (the female) afternoon supervisor who helped with dinner bookings, transfers, luggage storage and the like Fifthly, the rooms are elegantly decorated in a Moroccan style but a little small. Our room 9 had a Juliet balcony looking down onto the atrium's fountain. Be aware. most of the rooms are up one or two steep narrow steps. Ok for most but perhaps not for older folk. Suggestions to improve: - fix the noise of the plumbing. We heard every toilet flush from other rooms, throughout the night. - revisit the showers. Our hand-held device ensured we ended up spraying the entire bathroom area and beyond (as no curtains and a weirdly placed handle) - a little more signage from the main thoroughfare if not being escorted in - wifi could be enhanced. Dropped out often - more diversity in the breakfast buffet (with cereal/tomatoes etc) - try and add a table of some sort in each room. We all have cameras, wallets, guide books etc that need to sit somewhere. - don't overcharge for transfers. the 20 euros from the station was inflated.

An amazing Riad to stay in ❤️

Absolutely one of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed. Riad Armelle is a beautiful traditionally Moroccan Riad, in the heart of the Marrakech medina. From the moment we arrived until it was sadly time to leave, we were made to feel extremely welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the wonderful attentive staff. We were greeted on our arrival with a smile and a pot of refreshing mint tea, which we gladly drank while completing the check in paperwork. We were then shown to our room, where our cases had already been taken to. We stayed in room 14, which is located on the top floor, up a couple of flights of stairs and right next to the stunning roof garden. Our room was simply beautiful, the decor being traditionally Morroccan and spotlessly clean. Out on the roof garden, which is stunning, there were ample places to sit, both in the sun and in the shade. The roof garden was immaculately clean and full of wonderful plants, including orange and lemon trees. We stayed at Riad Armelle on a b&b basis and the breakfast was wonderful, with plenty of choice. The whole Riad was filled with wonderfully fragrant aromas from the oil burners and the soft local music added to the atmosphere and Riad experience. We did have dinner one evening at the Riad, which consisted of traditional Moroccan dishes. Each course we had was presented beautifully and the dish itself was explained in detail by the wonder Sissy, who was always extremely helpful during our stay. The Riad is well located for all of the local places to visit in Marrakech, of which there are many, including the amazing Jemaa el-Fnaa square, the palaces, souks and so much more. We can’t recommend staying at Riad Armelle highly enough and are already planning to return in the near future.
